I read the passage twice, once without annotations, and a second time highlighting tone words and rhetorical devices. After that, I write out the literal meaning of the text and what the author is saying. It sounds like a lot, but it really helps me!

You got this! Wrong answers can't hurt your grade and you can pull through with a good score if you have solid essays. Also, even if you read the prompt slightly wrong, I don't think it will dock you too many points as long as your essay is good.

honestly, read with your finger. It might be slower, but if I start reading merged words it helps
