I love Disney! Our family used to go once a year (we haven’t been for more than 5 years) and stay for 7-10 days. We go full Disney and meet all the characters. I can’t do roller coasters but there is still so much to do. Not to mention all the Disney souvenirs we buy. It is indeed the happiest place on earth. It’s the only place where I don’t complain about queuing up. People there are so nice too
How nice, honestly Disney world of Orlando, Florida is much bigger with 4 theme parks and 2 water parks. On a different note Phoebe I love your personality and I love how passionately you talk about travel. This is turning out to be my fav travel vlogging channel.
Oh man! We loved this video! It took us right back to our holiday there 18 months ago! We love holidaying in the USA and are super keen to follow along on your travels!
Loved this ep!! I loved Disneyland so much more than I thought I would! I’m not big on rides but oh man I went on so many! My favs were Indians jones, pirates of the Caribbean, haunted mansion & rise of the resistance is amazing!!!! I didn’t love DCA as much but cars land hands down my fav of the lot! The cars ride is my absolute favourite of the lot!! You looked liked you had such an amazing time!! ❤
So glad you're enjoying America's large portions! Seriously it's always great to see you happy. I went to Disney a ton of times as a kid in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I even have a stuffed shamu that I recently restored from my first Disney and sea world trip in 1979! That being said it looks too crowded and too expensive and too hot and too complicated for this old man. Glad you enjoyed!
I used to think DCA wasn't worth the hype but I went most of the day alone and I had a blast!! I conquered the park. I got on every ride, all but 5 by 2pm. There's so much more that you can do in one day if you're alone.
I am originally from Washington state and about three years ago. I moved down here to California and I’ve had a blast working and going to Disney all the time. It was about 10 minutes away best three years of my life.
With any amusement park, It's all about the rides and your experiences with them. You picked the right headband. Looking forward to the next adventure. Hope you're doing ok. Sending you love from Richmond, Va,❤❤ ❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki
As of July 24, 2024, international guests, including those from Australia, are not able to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass before arriving in the United States or Canada. However, since Disneyland was not your first destination this tells me you arrived at least one day prior to your visit, possibly more. Staying at a good neighbor hotel you could have "early entry" which would have allowed you to book your first Lightning Lane pass as early as eight am.
So the must rides at Disneyland are Space Mtn, Matterhorn (although is a bit painful), Indy Jones, Rise o’ Resistance, Big Thunder (glad you rode that), Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion (probably closed when you were there), and Runaway Railway. I sure hope you rode those and didn’t stick ‘em in this vid, cuz if you did miss them, you missed out on the true Disneyland experience.
Hi Phoebe. Been awhile since I commented on one of your videos. I had good reason. I was out of the country traveling in Thailand. Been that's not the point of this video LOL. Catching up on your travels and I have to say I really enjoyed this, especially since my Mother also works at Disney California Adventure. A lot of good tips from you for 1st-timers. As always you do a great job, filming and editing these videos. I agree with a lot of your thoughts.
Disneyland is amazing my first visit was when I was 8 years old and only Disneyland was there not California Adventure I have been there 9 more times since then and will be visiting Disney World in Orlando next year
Great video I’m glad you showed its best to do the Disneyland over 2 days that way you don’t miss out on things. We also went back to our hotel around the corner for an afternoon snooze and charged the batteries that way we had the stamina for the fire works. Thanks for showcasing some of the food options and showing the prices 👌🏻 looks like you enjoyed your time there. I hope you went and experienced a Major League Baseball game as well at Dodger stadium.
Hiya! I like your tradition with that thing in your hair. Reminds me of Disneysea in Tokyo, where everyone dresses up as a character when visiting. The parade was my highlight as well last year when I visited Disneyland Paris. Such a vibrant place, the energy is remarkable. Your hotel room is really spacious and the view is gorgeous. Didn’t know about that app to reserve your ride, seems like a good trick! I love the fireworks in Disney parks. It’s so well organised with the music and scenery. It’s a pity you didn’t get the chance to see it this time. Japanese and Mexican food combined. Disney keeps surprising me every time (food-wise). I need to try it. ‘Holy flibediflipflips’, how did you come up with that? It’s gonna be me saying this next time. Love it. Thanks for sharing and have an amazing week ahead 🤙
Agreed Phoebe, California adventure park we found better as well. We did 3 days over both parks and found it more than enough time. Stayed at the Westin, nice and close with about a 10 minute walk to the parks. Highly recommend the hotel.
Hi I’m a new subscriber, I’m a big fan of Disney iv been to Disney in Florida the Magic Kingdom, still need to visit the other parks and I still need to visit the Disney in California.❤❤❤
Aww, you missed out Rise of the Resistance! Cool to hear you like the vibe of California Adventure, that's actually pretty rare hence lesser crowds there!
Don't worry there Phoebe. Taking City Buses is WAAAY cheaper from the middle of LA city is the best, so I recommend that is what I say!! 😁😁 Anaheim is a great city, living here for a couple of days should be the greatest!! 😁😁
Hard to be present and doing solo filming. I hope you took time to just absorb the sites - Disney does a good job with their environment sets... they're totally immersive
Phoebe: My apologies for not doing a "Rob's Review" last week. Work and life kinda got in the way. ☹ So, before it does it again, gotta give ya my thoughts on this video which I've been most anticipating! As you may recall, I'm a former Cast Member and worked at Epcot and Disney Springs here in Florida during the '90's and Erin worked at the Studios for 24 years until 2020 (darn you, Covid!). As a result, we've been lucky to have gone to the parks here quite often. And, way back in 2001, we were able to go to Disneyland and DCA (Sorry, Disney California Adventure...kinda hard for me to drop the lingo). Hence my anticipation--I wanted to see what's changed and, most importantly, hear of your impressions and experience. * An immediate thought that crossed my mind watching last week's episode: can you imagine that you'd be so comfortable solo filming in a theme park?!? You've come a long way and grown so well into this profession! * Excellent background choice for the intro and the thumbnail. While the castle is iconic, *it's so small!* * I like the white frame around the quick reminders of your prior videos--makes it clear that this is separate from this video. * Well done editing in the quick shots of what's to come, along with the map, during the intro. * Oh, boy...we'll talk about the Lighting Lanes later... * I love this tradition of yours getting a "ridiculous hat." Gotta get Mouse Ears when you're at the Parks. Of the hats you showed, gotta agree with what you picked, given your love of pink! * Out of curiosity, what time did you get there? It doesn't look too bad on Main Street during your opening shots. When it gets really crowded, it's almost impossible to get the clear shot to the castle like you did. (Again, it's so small!) * Big Thunder is a great coaster (I personally think Magic Kingdom's is better, but that might be my Florida bias showing through). * Funny thing that happens to *every* Cast Member: the street parade here was once called, "The 3 O'clock Parade," and every Cast Member will inevitably get asked by a Guest at some point during their career, "What time is the 3:00 Parade?" I'm not kidding when I say it happened to me on my very first day! 🤣 * Disney is pretty good about vegetarian offerings and they're typically darn good! (Sorry about the goofball in the background 😕 Just no way to edit him out!) * Not sure I'd ever recommend anyone drive from LA to Anaheim. It's...well, you know! You are absolutely correct to stay nearby as you did (same rule applies here in Orlando, but with the caveat that the hotel has to have a shuttle to the parks cause it's so much more here). We also stayed off property when in Anaheim. Disney hotels can be amazing, but way too expensive! * As for driving, fun note that I'm sure you've discovered in your previous journeys, but I only discovered when I drove in Australia: not only is the driver on the other side of the car, but the windshield washer stick and the turn signal stick on the steering wheel are also reversed! I can't tell you the number of times I turned on the windshield washers when trying to merge or turn while we were driving to Tamborine Mountain! * Great map showing how close you are from the hotel, and that it's within walking distance. * Excellent B-Roll shots of Toontown and Galaxy's Edge! And then talking to us while walking through the Falcon ride queue. * You got to be an engineer on the Falcon. Good job filming--that's a challenge to film on that bumpy ride. * Oh, boy...we'll talk about the Lightning Lanes later...I have opinions. * Disney ice cream is really good...and sitting on the curb on Main Street is exactly where to be! * Your evening shots worked well. The lighting can be quite a challenge I expect. * Going to CVS: Yeah, I'm guessing some ibuprofen was also needed! Three parks in three days is no joke! Good location to do the completion of DL and tease with DCA just as you walk past the entrance. * Ah...a Disney GMYG! * Again, getting there a bit after opening I'm guessing? Good decision, as you described last week. * Were you able to use the Lightning Lane App better at DCA? * Great job filming while on the water ride! Kinda surprised you didn't get soaked. * Good advice--eat an early lunch to beat the crowds. Then take advantage of the other people eating to go on rides! It's what we usually do. * 🤣 Yup, American portions are a bit nuts, even in theme parks. An American "large" is more like an "extra-extra large" elsewhere. That corn looked amazing! * Cool switch up to a side camera while eating the corn. * Well done playing "Phoebe's music" and then fading out ever so briefly so we can hear the Marvel theme for a moment and then quickly cutting back to avoid the YT bots! * "Pun intended"--great advice: use a sunbrella! * Great camera and microphone to get the scenes while you were on the Little Mermaid ride. That's a "dark ride," so it's really hard to do that without the use of a light. * Really jealous of you getting to do the Marvel area--obviously, it wasn't there when we visited in 2001. * But, Radiator Springs was and that's a fun zone. Good work filming while on that ride. * Excellent wrap up with the "top tips," all of which were dead on. Especially the one I always made to my guests: take a break during the day, especially during the summer. Go back to the hotel and rest. Get out of the heat! After all, if you're staying on property, you spent a lot of money on that hotel--use it! The park will be open late and, once everyone (especially the little ones) have had a nap, you'll be ready to stay until park close and watch those fireworks! (So sorry you didn't get to see them. That's part of why they built this park here--there aren't any neighbors to prevent the fireworks because of wind.) * I'm so, so glad you had a great time there. I think, even all these years later, that I agree with you that DCA is "more fun." DL has the traditions and traditional rides, but DCA is better in many respects. With that in mind, I would expect you would absolutely love Universal's Islands of Adventure here in Orlando. It's full of coasters and thrill rides and has such an upbeat energetic vibe. It's one of my favorite theme parks. (I'll always love Epcot the most, but that's mostly because I love the World Showcase part and "drinking & eating around the world" as we like to call walking around to each country! It's the best outdoor bar, with a bit of a hefty cover charge 🤣🤣). * Ok, Rob's opinion on Lightning Lanes: I understand Disney needs to pack as many people into these parks as absolutely possible, hence why they've created this. But it takes away some of the "spontaneity" of your day. As you discovered, you have to get up, get on that app precisely at park open and, while *everyone else is doing it too*, you have to log in an quickly plan your entire day. For some rides, such as Rise of the Resistance or Guardians (as you discovered), those slots are taken almost instantly. Here at WDW in Orlando, you get randomly assigned a time for the "big" rides like those, assuming that you get a time at all. It's not uncommon for people to come to the parks and not even get to ride those rides because the time slots are taken, even though they were on the app at the right time. It's frustrating and I think it takes away some of the fun that guests could otherwise have by simply exploring and riding rides on a whim while walking around. Or, as happened to you, if guests don't understand the app (and many don't) or the need to use it, they miss out on a lot of the rides, or have to wait in excessively long queues. I think Universal does their system better. Happily, for some rides, there is the single-rider line. But, that's just my two cents. Here's looking forward to the next adventure and I truly hope you had (or are having) a wonderful time in the USA. Rob PS: Not to brag (okay, I'm bragging), but I've scored 999,999 on the Buzz Lightyear ride. There's a secret to doing it!
I feel your pain 😂 I did a hike down to Kondadilla Falls ( near Montville) yesterday. The 300 stairs back up was a killer. I hurt so much today. lol. Good idea about deep heat! Might go get some myself. 😂
I didn't go to Disney any time I was in Florida, but they didn't have the Marvel stuff then. I'm a full on Marvel fanatic so I have to do that some day. That's a great tip about the DeepnHeat and muscle relaxants. I have walked until my legs hurtvfor ages.
I'm so sorry your visit to Disneyland was so poor. It seems you missed some of the best attractions. Rise of the resistance would have blown your mind, also Micky And Minnie's is a state of the art trackless dark ride not to be missed that has single rider. The Matterhorn is a bit rough but considering it is the worlds first tube track steel roller coaster built by " Arrow Dynamics" That is impressive in itself. I was raised going to that park so I may be biased but I can't be alone considering it remains the second most visited theme park in all the world, Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World), Disneyland Park (Anaheim, California), Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan, and Shanghai Disneyland, respectively are the five most visited. There is a science to visiting Disneyland these days and David on FreshBaked can prepare you and give you the tools to make Disneyland a stress free and magical experience give him a watch when you have the time.
Oh amazing happy land Look at so large area you Have walk an hours great Watch from you many people there you are own Language english can catch every where watch More.

You missed Mickey and Minnie runaway railway in toontown! It’s one of my favorite rides. Not just for little kids.
This video is so good that I now want to take my wife down there as she has never seen the place. I saw it when I was six years old. Thank you.
If you like Star Wars, you would’ve loved Rise of the Resistance! Hands down my fav Disney ride in the U.S.
Not riding Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway and Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin in Toon Town, Huge Mistake!
Being from the US, I love to hear your take on US things. Congrats on 150K!!!

We were lucky enough to be gifted Disneyland tickets as a wedding gift - couldn't have timed this video better!
Production value is awesome on your video
I love Disneyland/California Adventure so much. I love seeing you experience for the first time!

Definitely could tell you were loving your two days there, Phoebe. You choose the right head gear also. It's so sophisticated and also so cute ❤
So glad you're enjoying America's large portions! Seriously it's always great to see you happy. I went to Disney a ton of times as a kid in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Shamu was from Sea World.
Your channel is amazing! I started backpacking and watching your videos in Thailand. So great to see you in my backyard at Disneyland!! Keep it up!
Thank you so much 🥰
I'm Glad phoebe picked the pink it was too cute 😊, I am loving the theme park vlogs as well, you're queen of the theme parks 😁

You are really professional with video KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK
I liked your video! Made me check out some other ones too!
You didn’t go on Star Tours?!
Or Space Mountain?
Or stay at DCA for World of Colour?!
Hi Phoebe. Been awhile since I commented on one of your videos. I had good reason. I was out of the country traveling in Thailand. Been that's not the point of this video LOL. You should try guardians of galaxy tower, Its a little bit scary but awesome
Disneyland is amazing my first visit was when I was 8 years old and only Disneyland was there not California Adventure I have been there 9 more times since then and will be visiting Disney World in Orlando next year
Guardians is Tower of Terror, not the haunted Mansion 😊
Great video I’m glad you showed its best to do the Disneyland over 2 days that way you don’t miss out on things. We also went back to our hotel around the corner for an afternoon snooze and charged the batteries that way we had the stamina for the fire works. Thanks for showcasing some of the food options and showing the prices 👌🏻 looks like you enjoyed your time there. I hope you went and experienced a Major League Baseball game as well at Dodger stadium.
Keep doing theme parks. It’s a thrill on this end too! 😃😃😃
I haven’t watched all the way yet, but the bread bowl with chili at Disneyland is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Oh no, missing the rides in Toontown was a mistake I fear 😢
Aww, you missed out Rise of the Resistance! Cool to hear you like the vibe of California Adventure, that's actually pretty rare hence lesser crowds there!
They closed it for some reason! 😕

I love your content, which camera do you use to vlog?
Disneyland of U.S.A is a best in a world 💜
It's unreal!
Better than World?
Hard to be present and doing solo filming. I hope you took time to just absorb the sites - Disney does a good job with their environment sets... they're totally immersive
Great vlog! Except the roller coaster parts, even behind a screen it just freaks me out (but even more so the raft one on the water) 😵💫
Phoebe: My apologies for not doing a "Rob's Review" last week. Work and life kinda got in the way. ☹ So, before it does it again, gotta give ya my thoughts on this video which I've been most anticipating! * An immediate thought that crossed my mind watching last week's episode: can you imagine that you'd be so comfortable solo filming in a theme park?!? You've come a long way and grown so well into this profession!
* Excellent background choice for the intro and the thumbnail. While the castle is iconic, *it's so small!*
* I like the white frame around the quick reminders of your prior videos--makes it clear that this is separate from this video.
* Well done editing in the quick shots of what's to come, along with the map, during the intro.
* Oh, boy...we'll talk about the Lighting Lanes later...

Did you Uber to the hotel and drop your luggage? Or is there somewhere at Disney to store it? Great video.
Yep! Uber to the hotel and dropped the luggage then walked to Disney
Do you have any videos on universal studios because I want to know everything about it
The guy in the background 😂 I still struggle filming myself talking to camera in a crowded area. You do it so well.
Ears in Tokyo Disney are like 1/4 of the price of the U.S. parks. If you get a chance to go back, I’d buy more there and pack them for other parks.
I didn't go to Disney any time I was in Florida, but they didn't have the Marvel stuff then. I'm a full on Marvel fanatic so I have to do that some day. That's a great tip about the DeepnHeat and muscle relaxants. I have walked until my legs hurtvfor ages.
Thanks Phoebe for a funny and amazing vlog! Request: Oslo,Norway.
Wow you have great day
So, main street Disneyland, what gold coast theme park does that remind u of?
Cute video! ❤
Happy ❤❤
What have we done to deserve all of this content
It's the best Disneyland just based on the fact it's the original....
Which is types of cameras do you usually use?
How much would you need to have if you visit ? For 1 person ? Will budget for me and my daughter though.
10/10 moment when you recorded that guy on the Cars ride getting a mouthful of your hair. 😂
Omg I felt soooo bad when I watched that back 😳 note to self: restrain hair next time!
