Chiquita caught covid and lost her voice just before this final cover. So she has comeback fighting. Yes she was nervous understandably. She actually also does have a golden power vocals. Incredible vocalist as well.
I can definitely tell the talent is there but when she's up against others with YEARS of training it's difficult for her voice to shine but give it time and LET HER COOK
Babymonster has 3 rappers - ahyeon also raps, asa is more of an extreme rapper, she rapped godzilla in her introduction video and her live performance was awesome, ruka has typical yg style of rapping and swag
That's what I was going to point out hopefully on the recording of the final members announcement I sincerely don't feel a need for 3 rappers but we shall see!
If you listen to a live performance of Luis Capaldi singing Someone You Loved, he gets very raspy. Rora was trying to capture some of that with her performance. If you check out her other performances, I think your opinion of her vocals may change to some degree. As others have mentioned, Chiquita was just recovering from Covid. She has a very beautiful voice, with a lot of control, power, and stability, particularly for someone who has only been training for about a year and a half. I haven't picked a bias yet, but all seven members definitely belong in this group, and it would be a terrible shame if YG actually cuts the group down to 5. You should check out the rest of the content while we wait for the announcement of the final group on the 12th. The group performance of Scars To Your Beautiful was a real treat. Chiquita during Last Evaluation makes everyone laugh she's so naturally comical it's hard not to smile and her facial expressions are everything she kills it
I just recorded the introduction performance video and I completely disagree!!! I feel like yg might've suggested or pushed her into singing in this kind of style which I feel doesn't really showcase what she can do!
Rora’s focus was more on the emotions and not the technicality of it. Sometimes, it’s not always about power vocals. Singing is also about delivering the message to the listeners. And YG didnt push her to sing like that, she herself said she wanted to become a singer that can properly convey the emotions of the song.
Check out my other video when I reacted to their live performances! Both performances were ballad songs but if we talking emotions and conveying it, her live performance beats her cover performance by miles and miles from the softness and breathy lines to the power she knew how to build. it. up.
I just recorded the reaction for the introduction performances and I feel like yg mightve pushed rora to sing in a different style for this performance because she killed the introduction one
@@currykinglee no she actually choose the song . I think the problem is she wanted to deliver soooo much emotion that she didn't deliver that much in ACTUALLY singing
Great Reaction Curry King Lee! On top of Chiquita only having a couple of days to prepare she’s only been there one year! YG put her in the group after only three months! She’s learning everything on the spot! And LeeJung the choreographer said that she has stage presence when she’s just standing! As Rora she studied the singer and the lyrics but they all sing nonstop for 30 days! Also Ahyeon is also a Rapper! Ruka has highest pitch vocals! And ASA is the Eminem of the group!🧸🙏🏻
I have a question about that. How do we know that she only had a couple of days to prepare? I know that monthly evaluations for YG have three performance stages in one month (solo song, group song, and group dance). The only thing that the video mentions is that she stopped practice for one week and it was in the third week of the group song practice that she missed. Ahyeon asked Chiquita to take care of her voice for next week's evaluation. So when Chiquita was saying that she doesn't have much time it is also because she has a group song practice and group dance practice that she also needs to attend and she also struggled in the group song because for one you could see that some of the effects from covid and the other was that she wasn't harmonizing correctly. My thought on that is that she focused less on her solo and put it more into the group performance since she wanted to do well with the group. Like Ahyeon said if one person is not doing it correctly then it makes the whole thing sound bad. So unless the solo missions were done a week earlier than the group and dance performance then the timeline doesn't make sense.
@@JamesKaneshiroDesignSamurai it's a typical solo/ot2 stan comment just ignore it.... They are searching for reason to justify her lack of "good" singing in this performance but unfortunately they are overdoing it to the point where it becomes annoying. I can understand telling him that she had COVID and that hugely affected her performance but giving wrong and shorten timeline is just annoyingly downgraded
@@JamesKaneshiroDesignSamurai All I know is that we saw all of them focusing on just their Solo songs never saw doing anything else! And YG came at the halfway point (15 days) And Chiquita sounded good then but he told Ahyeon she picked the wrong song! Chiquitas COVID happened afterwards! It’s also possible she didn’t practice at all after that! Also her song was only two minutes that probably kept her from overdoing her vocals!🙏🏻
BRUH I JUST DID A REACTION YESTERDAY IM EDITING IT NOW AND IM SHOOKETH. If it were up to me although ruka will most likely be main rapper and possibly leader, ahyeon is the only other person I can see leading this group
Ahyeon is pretty amazing in this performance since she only had two weeks to prepare. Some people would say that is enough time but what they don't consider is that she is still attending school, they have a group song and group dance that BABYMONSTER is rehearsing and is a genre that she hasn't really done before. Pharita (pronounced Pa•ri•ta) has a golden voice and it compared to Rosé quite often and more so after the "Gone" cover. Their vocal technics are very similar and they have a similar range but there are still some things that Pharita can't do that Rosé can. If you watch the 'Last Evalutaion' series then you will see what I mean. Asa (nicknames Asa Kim or Ace-sa) is one of the two rappers in the group. The first performance video that we saw from her was the "Look Alive" remix by Joyner Lucas. She does the hard intense rapping and in this performance decided that she should also include singing which was a big risk since in her previous evaluations they mostly saw rap from her. Ruka is just Ruka. She pretty much embodies the swag and style of YG artists. She has trained, I think along with Asa the longest out of the trainees since they both auditions in 2018 but their rap styles are different. Ruka having that more smooth, swag style but can also turn it up with some intensity. She has the potential to be main dancer or main rapper but definitely the leader when it comes to dance. Rora to me is more like the Disney Princess of the group. If you watch her introduction video then you would understand that she has a certain singing style to her. And the low raspy voice is actually hers. She is not trying to force the sound which means that it is healthy for her to sing in that manner. Chiquita. At the time of this recording she was only about a year of training with the rest of the group. I think that she seemed a little nervous because she didn't prepare well for this particular performance. You can tell that she was still suffering from the effects of covid. The 'ain't is funny' part you will notice how much the 'ny' part falls off. Her first performance video shows her in a more comfortable song selection. The one thing is that the 'Last Evaluation' is more meant as a journey to debut than an 'elimination' show (spoiler, no one get eliminated during the series). It was recorded in April - May 2022 and since then they have been seen as a group of seven from the BLACKPINK concert in Seoul in October 2022 to the TREASURE concert in Novermber 2022 to doing Jisoo's 'Flower' dance challenge last month. So the likelihood that they are a 7 member group is high. It is most likely that in this week's announcement it will be all 7 members that will be revealed for BABYMONSTER or BAEMON. I preferred that they call the group BAEMON on debut since it has a better longevity because in 4 years the members won't be considered babies anymore. They should debut as a 7 member group and it would be more shocking to me if they didn't. The 5 member thing only came from YG at the final interview where he was asked about the member count. His response was that BLACKPINK and 2NE1 had four members so this group he only wanted 5 members. He answered the next question with, "I haven't decided on the 5 final members." The he was asked when will the members be revealed. Then he answered with, "We haven't decided on the members yet." The wording left out the 5 final members leaving it open to have more members. If you going to watch the 'Last Evaluation' then on the last episode when he addresses the trainees after the performance, you can tell that he knows that they belong together as a 7 member group.
Super informative and no huge spoilers love thisss, I did spoil it for myself by watching an ig reel on what the yg director's final verdict was but it's looking like a 5 member group in my opinion and I'll release why after the final decision on may 12th! Even if they do debut as a 7 member group! Baemon is nice too yep yep
The videos shown were a year ago. So, you must minus at least a year of their age from what you read from Internet. Chiquita was 13 when she performed the song.
Yooo… just let him giving his own opinion.. if he doesn’t like rora. Let it be. But I personally love rora. She is so underrated vocalist honestly. Not to mention she’s only 14 yo… among all 7 she’s the only one who can delivered such an emotion, a tone she has is so rare in any K-pop group out there. She has her own identity, same goes to Asa. The other members are famouse also because they resamble other famouse idol. Chiqita = her personality and even the face kinda reminds me of lisa , ahyeon = kinda reminds me of young jennie, haram = her technic is kinda of reminds me of rose, pharitha = her tone is also reminds me of rose . So yeah make sence if they noticed more. They are good tho.
Hahahaha thanks man, I'm not against any of them I actually really like all of them but a few definitely stood out more to me than the others for sure, I felt like this performance Rora was trying something new but in my other reaction I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HER you should check it out! The others are just as insanely good!!!
Watching just cover is ok, but it's much better watching everything to understand and appreciate the performance more for example. Chiquita performance she got COVID in that timeline but she managed to do good, and Ahyeon which got a song Change and have a little time to practice but do very good at the end. 🤭 There are so many things to see aside from all the cover's.
I will definitely be supporting them all the way! Check out my other videos where I hear their first song for the first time it was so good I was about to cry!!
Haram added the high note on Pick up your feelings to show off her voice thinking it was her very Last Evaluation (It wasn't they had dance mash up next)
They're all so good! But I really hope you'll go back and watch all their performances, because you cannot really make judgements on just this final mission. They are all super talented. Incredibly so. Ruka def has the stage presence to hype the audience, but Asa has it in bucket loads too... She killed the first introductory solo performance we saw, but both have incredible stage presence and confidence. Just very different vibes. They did a back and forth rap in one of the group missions too and it was fire! I really hope all 7 debut because they each bring something so unique to the group which means variety and so many opportunities to be creative with their sound. I cannot wait!
I hope you react also to their individual introductions in order to know them better😊. FYI, the final line up members will be announced on May 12, 12:00am
thanks Alex hahaha not a lot of people do but help me out IM GETTING ADDICTED TO BAEMON it's getting unhealthy my time is already split between IVE and Le sserafim I can't do this ARHHHHHHHHHH let me know what I should react to tho! I have a long list from the comments but I want MORE
That 'The Last Evaluation' thing is recorded a year ago as far as i know April-August 2022. April - ( Team A & B blackpink mission ) May - Dance Group blackpink mission June - Final Solo song mission July - Final Group song mission August - Final Dance Group 2ne1 mash up mission
@@currykinglee yes and the song is Don't Know What To Do and they recorded their own voices in that dance mission but i don't wanna spoil you a lot must watch the ep4 of last evaluation 😅
Unfortunately CoVid did a number on Chiquitas vocal chords so they weren't back to 100% yet. I can relate because it took several weeks for my singing voice to come back as well, it took very little for my voice to either crack or just not come out at all so I feel for her.
I think Haram and Ahyeon are very hard vocal performers. I like them. All them are very good, but I would say the Koreans and japaneses are the most talented (?) like the most necessary members because the Koreans have the strongest vocal line and Asa/Ruka are like top dancers and rappers. So yeah. There’s a chance to debut just 5, so this could be my guess. Aside from that, Chiquita performance was not that good because she has COVID-19
that's alright buddy its a preference and i've never heard any of them before so it was more enjoying for me to watch something new like this! Plus most singers are advised to not go for a raspy tone too much since it's quite damaging for the vocal chords!
@@currykinglee That's her natural raspy tone ....for god sake get to know her first before you said anything cuz you're embarassing yourself....."Don't know if she would make it to the group"💀 lol....litrally stfu .....such a hater
Nah, he is right... tbh she doesn't sound great with that song, it's like mumbling & her pronunciation is not clear, that's why it makes her sound ain't appealing & stand out, it makes her sing with average vibes. She sounds more great with other songs in her video introduction including the live performance
Decent reaction, but you are wrong giving them grades upon what you like better. They all slayed in my opinion, each with their own unique style. I love husky voices, so I rate Rora ❤️/10 #teamrora
Much better to watch the whole 'The Last Evaluation' to see their struggles to do their performances also YG marketing strategy is on point when he said the members want him to debut is only 5 but that's not the final and we fans expecting all of them are make to debut if u watched the 'YGTB' u know what i mean this is a survival show of Treasure under YGe
Ohh before the solo mission?? She 100% could've ate that performance I just felt sth did hold her back dunno if it was nervousness or could've been covid
@@currykinglee they had a 7 people song mission. She got covid there but as far as i know these missions are so close to each other. Its just the general opinion that covid effected her performance. There is no way to be sure tho 🤗
7.5 to Chiquita? 🤣🤣 You haven't heard a voice like hers in Kpop in your whole life...are you serious? BabyMonster, all, have the best voices in the ENTIRE Kpop industry, the vocalists and the two rappers.
They're all talented for sure in this generation Rose's voice is probably the most technically good voice imo! But I mean these were the first clips of them I've watched so at least my opinion is super unfiltered so I shall go watch the rest now
Typical Chiquita Solo stan 😅, desperately force everyone to like Chiquita. I love Chiquita, she has great personality, but just admit it covid or not, Chiquita's voice (&Pharita) still not as good as the other vocal line. They still need more practices, considered that 2 of them are only trained for a very short time.
Most people expect that the elimination is just a marketing stunt (and all 7 will debut). We will know for sure on May 12th. You should watch at least their initial live performances (1-2 min each) and their individual introductions (8-10 min each) to learn more about them, their training and their strengths (as well as weaknesses). You will also see their individual growth and performances from their monthly performances in there. Very interesting. As far as these solo performances goes. As others already said: Chiquita was recovering from COVID and still didn't have her voice back in full. I also disagree with you on Rora. The way she expresses emotions and how she tells a story with her performance is unmatched in Baby Monster. If I was forced to rank these specific solo performances I would go with: 1. Haram 2. Rora 3. Ayheon 4. Asa 5. Ruka 6. Pharita 7. Chiquita But all 7 of them did well (Chiquita especially considering COVID, her young age and the fact that she had the least amount of training). They're all insanely talented, unique in their own ways and and very charming. The group performances are also very good btw. Of course the result from their "Last Evaluation" show will be spoiled at May 12th. Might be still interesting to watch, but their first live performances (in black & white) as well as their individual introductions are more important, if you want to learn about them.
I did get a lot of comments about this, it's not a bad performance at all considering but when the other members are doing THAT then yeah her performance kinda pales in comparison but gotta take into consideration they all have like 3x the training Chiquita has
I'm watching your reactions and realized that you didn't watch from the beginning of their journey. If you did then you would see the growth in their technique and the hardships of the past 4 years as trainees. I'm not trying to be critical cause this is your first time reacting to them. Some of us have gone through a roller coaster of emotions these past few months. Anyways, enjoy the journey and hopefully you are able to start from the beginning to understand them better.

Roura wasn't nervous, the song has a lot of feelings, so she delivered them in a calm way. She can't perform in a strong way, and the song is calm.
Both performances were ballad songs but if we talking emotions and conveying it, her live performance beats her cover performance by miles and miles from the softness and breathy lines to the power she knew how to build. it. up.
Rora is not my bias but whenever I heared her voice I got goosebumps
I gotta make this a series since I'm only watching parts I've watched the introduction and recorded it and it was AMAAAZING
@@currykinglee Definitely worth starting from scratch! The whole world is not in Love with them for nothing! We’ve been together since day one!🙏🏻
Do you know? Ahyeon raps too 💀
BRUH I JUST DID A REACTION YESTERDAY IM EDITING IT NOW AND IM SHOOKETH. If it were up to me although ruka will most likely be main rapper and possibly leader, ahyeon is the only other person I can see leading this group
My favs r Ahyeon and Pharita...
I can get on with that for sure love their differenet styles 💛
I love Rora's raspy voice tho.
Baemon is nice too yep yep
ahyeon true ace🔥
got a new video out today and I did react to some very very gud news about ahyeon 😌
Haram must be a main vocalist for sure
The others are just as insanely good!!!
you nailed it on Leaders Ruka is 22 oldest and Ahyeon lead the group during Scars to their beautiful group challenge (she said someone needed to )
woooo!
IM ON IT!!!
Pharita❤
To me, Ahyeon is the best. Rora is probably a far 2nd.
Ooooh Rora 2nd interestinggggg!!
21:01 yeah, she’s 20 😂 don’t worry
phew thank you
YG's debuting all of them together. Which means Babymonster will be 7members🥰 plsss support themm❤️
I will definitely be supporting them all the way! Check out my other videos where I hear their first song for the first time it was so good I was about to cry!!
Chiquita and rora are maknae they are youngest but more talented than their age
new video out today and omg their new song is crazy the vocals are insane
She had a covid thats why shes not stable. She had few time to practice. Pharita & chiquita got 1st place in the blind test before she got covid
Haram added the high note on Pick up your feelings to show off her voice thinking it was her very Last Evaluation (It wasn't they had dance mash up next)
oh she killed that part, that's what made me remember her alright
Video going up soon and their intro performances just wow wow wow
I hope you react also to their individual introductions in order to know them better😊. FYI, the final line up members will be announced on May 12, 12:00am
WOAHHHH definitely doing a video on that I can't waitttt
Ruka is my favourite for sure.
thanks Alex hahaha not a lot of people do but help me out IM GETTING ADDICTED TO BAEMON it's getting unhealthy my time is already split between IVE and Le sserafim I can't do this ARHHHHHHHHHH let me know what I should react to tho! I have a long list from the comments but I want MORE
That 'The Last Evaluation' thing is recorded a year ago as far as i know April-August 2022.
April - ( Team A & B blackpink mission )
May - Dance Group blackpink mission
June - Final Solo song mission
July - Final Group song mission
August - Final Dance Group 2ne1 mash up mission
THEY GOT A DANCE MISSION!? I NEEDA SEE THIS
@@currykinglee yes and the song is Don't Know What To Do and they recorded their own voices in that dance mission but i don't wanna spoil you a lot must watch the ep4 of last evaluation 😅
RUKA❤❤❤
sorry i had to quit the video when he mention Rora voice was unappealing - lol. that rare husky tone is unappealing?? sorry my man. I'm out
that's alright buddy its a preference and i've never heard any of them before so it was more enjoying for me to watch something new like this! Plus most singers are advised to not go for a raspy tone too much since it's quite damaging for the vocal chords!
Hahaha lol.....he should clear his ears fr🤣......
@@currykinglee you're not wrong tho, plus it's called preference

Ahyeon vocal ❤
Decent reaction, but you are wrong giving them grades upon what you like better. They all slayed in my opinion, each with their own unique style. I love husky voices, so I rate Rora ❤️/10 #teamrora
I love your reaction ❤❤
They're too good!!! I just did a part 2 and im editing it now they're crazy talentedsd
We'll see won't we!!
Chiquita had covid recently. Probably thats why her performance had some flaws
Definitely Chiquita was nervous bcz 2 weeks before that performances she got Covid,
You should have included their group performance cover of Scars To Your Beautiful.
I'm getting there!!!
Chiquita just recovered from covid during the span of this evaluation.
I've read a bunch of comments telling me this! I did say a lot about her individual performance tho somewhere in my replies!
7.5 to Chiquita? 🤣🤣 You haven't heard a voice like hers in Kpop in your whole life...are you serious?
BabyMonster, all, have the best voices in the ENTIRE Kpop industry, the vocalists and the two rappers.
U should face the reality. Chiquita solo performance is the worst.
@@nnznj The worst thing is your number of neurons...
They're all talented for sure in this generation Rose's voice is probably the most technically good voice imo! But I mean these were the first clips of them I've watched so at least my opinion is super unfiltered so I shall go watch the rest now
I love chiquita but her performance on this one is not that good compare to others
SEE YOU GUYS ON MAY 12 FOR D-DAY. Let’s go BAEMON! 🎉
May 13 I promise an upload!!!!
Please do watch the unveiling of the final line up for this group, on May 12❤
100% video coming out the next day or day after for SUREEE
Haram/Ramii❤
She was soooo good in their latest song too
Most people expect that the elimination is just a marketing stunt (and all 7 will debut).
If I was forced to rank these specific solo performances I would go with:
1. Haram
2. Rora
3. Ayheon
4. Asa
5. Ruka
6. Pharita
7. Chiquita
But all 7 of them did well (Chiquita especially considering COVID, her young age and the fact that she had the least amount of training).
Just recorded the introduction live and let's just say. mental.
🗿🥱
Ahyeon 🫶
Yes. Yes. Yes.
For Chiquita's performance unfortunately she had just gotten over covid 19 for some context of her performance
I did get a lot of comments about this, it's not a bad performance at all considering but when the other members are doing THAT then yeah her performance kinda pales in comparison but gotta take into consideration they all have like 3x the training Chiquita has
Chiquita my best ❤
Who 's your bias bro
well..... well.... It was Ahyeon probably still is but I've read she's got some issues in my latest vid so hmm I'm left with Ruka now!
ASA e ahyeon❤
AHYEON AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG
I'm watching your reactions and realized that you didn't watch from the beginning of their journey.
If you did then you would see the growth in their technique and the hardships of the past 4 years as trainees.
I'm not trying to be critical cause this is your first time reacting to them.
Some of us have gone through a roller coaster of emotions these past few months.
Anyways, enjoy the journey and hopefully you are able to start from the beginning to understand them better.
I'm glad I reacted first before watching the journey since it's as unbiased of a reaction anyone's gonna get but ITS CUZ OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU TELLING ME TO KEEP WATCHING BAEMON NOW IM HOOKED, DAMN IT
