CLAMP in wonderland was animated by madhouse, they collaborated with CLAMP on most of their early adaptations. I’ve been told that they’re a lot of the same people who went on to found Mappa which I have no trouble believing 🥺
aah this is very informative...actually would love it if mappa did tokyo. Mappa's work is always so pretty. I don't always like the anime they make but i cant deny i love how they animate. plus they can meet deadlines and are reliable.
Wow. I must say I'm not surprised and (please don't shoot me) actually happy it's not going to happen at least for a while. I've seen a few reboots/remakes of old anime classics I grew up with, and they're all bad adaptations. Not just different, not modernized, they're jobs done wrong. TB has a special place in my heart so having seen the childlike character design in the trailer I was worried they'd flatten its dark, multilayered story to a generic action romance. Knowing now that the team working on it was too lazy/busy with other stuff to even give the characters original clothes (in a CLAMP adaptation! C'mon!) doesn't exactly help me change my mind... Of course it would have been great to get a proper anime series for TB, but considering the current state of the anime industry (or at least what I see of it) and the extent of work both the script and the art would require to do it justice, I think it's probably best left until some better times...
Yea I get you. I'm not too thrilled with alot of reboots lately or next gen continuations. Still I did like some of the characters designed hopefully a better group will pick it up and do a good job
I wish we got this beautiful story! One of my favorite anime is Sailor Moon and the manga creator did a lot of this with very famous garments. I didn’t really see how bad it was until now. Times have changed. I hope we get some good news about Tokyo Babylon soon!
The Sailor Moon fashion that were famous garments weren't part of the manga but were in additional panels. The 90s anime fashion were also from the Toei animators, not Takeuchi's designs
Idk if you know but last AUG 2021, Go Hands sued King Amusement for 450mil yen because they canceled their Tokyo Babylon production. King Amusement had legal rights to cancel after the plagiarism Go Hands did. Supposedly, the series was to be aired this year but King's staff found more plagiarism examples.
Honestly for me its good that they got canceled and are changing anime studio , i personally did not like the art style and animation overall , it was too unrecognizable for me to say it was tokyo babylon until there was a title to it especially with the character design with seishiro
Honestly I don't expect it to look like the old anime . That art style is not used anymore. I'm sure even with a new studio it will still look different
@@animewriter10 I hope that at least will not look THAT different. Even the character hair-colors were wrong. The characters themselves should look a little more older too.
Yeah, I don't think many fans would approve if Seishiro's age stayed the same. Then again, Eriol was still in a relationship with Kaho in Clear Card despite being in his young form.
They're no actual copyrights on the shape of clothes. Honestly his costume is generic ASF I don't understand. Hate me if you want but real clothing is not plagerism on a 2d format. Pose theft not a thing.
i really dont have a full opinion on it. Im mostly just stating it was canned and my disapointment. I will say this much..they had a backlog of cannon clothes they could of just used and modernized but didn't . I can see though a bit of why the singer was touchy about it. its her image
Maybe they should of just stuck with the 80's designs to avoid this it's stupid though that this happened. I mean is this worse than plagiarizing music like Yamamoto did for dragon ball kai? Kai didn't get canceled they just simply rereleased the blue-rays with the original Z score and fired Yamamoto they didn't cancel the project o.O this is a little... extreme.
while the plagerism was bad i dont think it was worth cancling i feel like it could of been fixed but from what i have read they haven't let on the full extent of how much they stole..hence why they were fired and are looking for a new studio

As soon as we do I will be updating you all

oooh no... i am so sorry

No i did not just looked i tup and wow Thanks for the update
You're welcome. I was looking forward to it too. hope the next studio gives the manga justice because they'll be crucified if they don't.
I just hope we hear something soon

Looks like they aged down Seishiro, which is good.... Time to do a reread of the series.
im curious to see what the new deisgns will be though since everything has to be redone

i really was super excited for clamp anime ):
im waiting to hear more news as soon as we get updates i will let you all know in a vid.
Wow I knew they had stolen the design for Subaru's robes but I didn't see the straight up copy, even the POSE, for Hokuto.
Yea it goes so much deeper then that from what i have heard but they let alot slide till they connected the dots for Hokuto
Go Hands wants to have the copyrights to the anime instead of that copyright t belong to the mangaka.
so scummy
