Siiiick, I love the colors these come in too. Ive got a bright blue regular cab '96 V4. Pretty inspiring bed buildout you got there. Love the wrap around windows on the extended cabs
I just got a 92 king cab with a camper as well ,5 speed 2wd 2.4. With less then 100k miles odometer don’t work but I plan on driving it to Cabo and back to nor cal soon
I love this! I have a 97 Nissan hard body pickup I am considering doing something similar with. This looks totally doable at a reasonable price. I wish mine was 4WD though.
This is awesome! I had no idea how much you had done to that truck (solar, frig…). Can’t believe it’s nearly 30 years old. Great job Brian…Although I’m not sure you gave enough credit to your partner 😉.
Nice setup! I'm planning to do something very similar with a Prius. Gets 50+mpg, has AWD, A/C all night, and you can use the hybrid system as a generator. You can also get suspension lift kits for them and they last forever
@briancahal What's the length of your [Nissan] Hardbody's bed? You should consider getting a mid-rise and/or high-rise camper shell so that y'all can have more head room. I mean, your platform build is nice, but it "steals" much needed vertical space. I'm thinking of buying a Hardbody just like yours for an Overland build and weekend getaways. V6 or Straight-4? The first Nissan models, just called the pickup, are just too small and underpowered for any serious OL build. The Hardbodys came with a V6 or Straight-4s and optional 4x4 drivetrain.
@@travelinman482 The king cab's bed is 6.1ft, while the single cabs bed is a few inches shorter. Finding a topper that fits the king cab is tricky, especially if you're after a high-rise one. Seems like most small truck toppers are a couple inches short so there is a gap between the cab and topper.
I have a 91 d21 short bed single cab, crank windows, bench seat, 5spd I am really struggling to find things to fit because the truck is just so small do you have any suggestions
Do you notice any movement with the hitch swing when driving? I've had the Kuat swing away and noticed with a rack and 3-4 bikes there was a lot of bob when driving on any rough roads. Maybe not as bad with your rack and only running 2 bikes, but curious how you're finding it
I find I have to tighten the bolt on the hitch occasionally but when I do it takes out almost all the play out of the system and it’s super solid. It does leverage the truck when it’s loaded up and rides pretty rough but that’s part of the reason why I’m installing stiffer leaf springs. Overall been really impressed with the build quality of the one up stuff.
Hell yeah man! That thing is solid. Love the Nissan hard body. How's the sleeping arrangement comfort wise? What's the length and everything and how's it work for your height? I have a Nissan Titan short bed (5' 7") and am wondering how I can fit in a camper top at 5' 10". May have to go diagonal....
what are your tire specs? i just bought a lifted truck with huge tires, im gonna un-lift it and im aiming for that tire look! sweet build btw im aiming for the same!
On your forbidden dreadnought, do you find that there is a lot of chain slap? I have the same exact 2022 dreadnought as you and yk I’m just curious if it’s a normal thing
Usually have rivers/lakes around for bathing. Might be the one area where this rig is lacking. I think our water container is 6 gallons and that lasts pretty long for cooking/drinking

I've got a 2020 Tacoma w/ a GoFastCamper and this is so much cooler.

Can't fuck with the legendary hardbody D21. Awesome rig man. Your setup is sweet.

lol so glad someone said something!!

haha that would be epic!

Such a great looking vehicle
You sell yourself short man, that's a sweet setup. Reminds me of my 96 isuzu trooper 180,000 and still going
Thanks brotha!
Love your build. Just got the exact same truck in white. Sadly prices are a bit higher than 7 years ago 😂
Also sitting at 155k!
Love this. Saw your video on Reddit and now I'm here as a subscriber..
Awesome thanks for hopping on board!
where did you get the truck cap from? i’m looking to buy one for my 97 nissan hardbody. it’s a standard cab, regular bed
I found it on marketplace. Just checked the dimensions with my bed.
@@briancahal sweet!, do you know the brand of the cap?
@@briancahal Hey man, in the same boat. Scouring the earth for a bedcap has been hell for me. Any chance you check the brand/make?
Hey do you have drawings of the wood boards to cut?
Sweet rig bro!
Thanks! 👍
nice keep it up bro
I have a 91 d21 short bed single cab, crank windows, bench seat, 5spd
I am really struggling to find things to fit because the truck is just so small
do you have any suggestions
bro this is legit perfect , holy shit the build is pretty fucking spot on to what i was gonna make for mine
Thanks bud! Go for it!
hey there man, i was looking for a cap like this one and I was wondering if you can find the brand of yours? would be a huge help, thanks.
Not knocking the build, it's awesome, but just know his prices are pretty optimistic these days.

Pretty comfortable just not a lot of head room. It’s a six foot bed I’m able to fit fairly comfortably at 6’1”
nice setup!
lift and tire size?
No lift and 31x10.5r15
Makes me miss mine... what engine and what kind of fuel consumption are you seeing?
It’s the 3.0 liter v6. Not sure on mileage, I’ve never bothered to record it.
what are your tire specs? i just bought a lifted truck with huge tires, im gonna un-lift it and im aiming for that tire look! sweet build btw im aiming for the same!
Tires are 31x10.5 r15. I think lift and spacing is stock
On your forbidden dreadnought, do you find that there is a lot of chain slap? I have the same exact 2022 dreadnought as you and yk I’m just curious if it’s a normal thing
I think it had a standard amount of chains slap. At times I was able to get the bike to be really quite. The stock chain protector isn't that good imo
@@briancahal What chain protecter do you use? Thanks for the reply btw
Hey man where did you get the camper top and how can I find it
I have the single cab not sure if it’s the same size
Found it on Facebook marketplace. Mine is a six foot bed pretty sure the single cab is the same
What do you do for water, showering, etc...
Usually have rivers/lakes around for bathing. Might be the one area where this rig is lacking. I think our water container is 6 gallons and that lasts pretty long for cooking/drinking
You can also get a gym membership if you're in between apartments, or a truckstop to shower.
And you can get portable showers for car camping too
Sick
Lift? Tire size?
No lift 31x10.5r15 tire sise
Whoa...
Bike check when, brother?
Unfortunately the druid sold, got some bike checks coming on some new builds though!
@@briancahal sick!
