    Siiiick, I love the colors these come in too. Ive got a bright blue regular cab '96 V4. Pretty inspiring bed buildout you got there. Love the wrap around windows on the extended cabs

    I love this! I have a 97 Nissan hard body pickup I am considering doing something similar with. This looks totally doable at a reasonable price. I wish mine was 4WD though.

    This is awesome! I had no idea how much you had done to that truck (solar, frig…). Can’t believe it’s nearly 30 years old. Great job Brian…Although I’m not sure you gave enough credit to your partner 😉.

    I'm planning to do something very similar with a Prius. Gets 50+mpg, has AWD, A/C all night, and you can use the hybrid system as a generator. You can also get suspension lift kits for them and they last forever

      What's the length of your [Nissan] Hardbody's bed? You should consider getting a mid-rise and/or high-rise camper shell so that y'all can have more head room. I mean, your platform build is nice, but it "steals" much needed vertical space. I'm thinking of buying a Hardbody just like yours for an Overland build and weekend getaways. V6 or Straight-4? The first Nissan models, just called the pickup, are just too small and underpowered for any serious OL build. The Hardbodys came with a V6 or Straight-4s and optional 4x4 drivetrain.

      @@travelinman482 The king cab's bed is 6.1ft, while the single cabs bed is a few inches shorter. Finding a topper that fits the king cab is tricky, especially if you're after a high-rise one. Seems like most small truck toppers are a couple inches short so there is a gap between the cab and topper.

    Do you notice any movement with the hitch swing when driving? I've had the Kuat swing away and noticed with a rack and 3-4 bikes there was a lot of bob when driving on any rough roads. Maybe not as bad with your rack and only running 2 bikes, but curious how you're finding it

    • @briancahal
      @briancahal  Год назад +2

      I find I have to tighten the bolt on the hitch occasionally but when I do it takes out almost all the play out of the system and it’s super solid. It does leverage the truck when it’s loaded up and rides pretty rough but that’s part of the reason why I’m installing stiffer leaf springs. Overall been really impressed with the build quality of the one up stuff.

  • @garrettsmith1202
    @garrettsmith1202 Год назад

    Hell yeah man! That thing is solid. Love the Nissan hard body. How's the sleeping arrangement comfort wise? What's the length and everything and how's it work for your height? I have a Nissan Titan short bed (5' 7") and am wondering how I can fit in a camper top at 5' 10". May have to go diagonal....

    • @briancahal

    • @briancahal
