How about Chicago and northwestern. If I remember correctly they had a nose bell. Don’t remember if they had a yellow beacon on the roof I hope they did cause I love the yellow beacons. You can never have enough lights on your locomotive.
Very satisfied to see that a model of the original gp38 is being offered and released in ho scale, these are handsome looking diesels and I will try to purchase either the B&O or Penn Central examples of these locomotives. I look forward to seeing these emd gp38 models in the model railroad hobby stores soon.
Definitely a must have for freight folks modeling any time from the 1970s into the early 00s. Off topic: I've noticed there hasn't been a run of RDCs since the before times. There are still a few roads yet to be covered, especially recent operators like Trinity Rail Express, TriMet, and Reading & Northern. Hoping to see another run of those before too long. My collection is at a good size right now but there's still a few things that would absolutely get me to buy: Reading & Northern RDC, Amtrak MK Rebuild FL9s, GP40TC, Metro North M-series, a PROPER P32ACDM (every Genny thus far has been a P40 or P42) for example.
I would love the Conrail, NS and Southern but that decoder is not the one I want. Plus the detail is really good on all of Rapido trains, but travel to the club layout causes damage to them. My B36-7s lost a lot of parts. At least Rapido support is pretty dam good was able to get 99% of the missing parts. Side note here, what the difference from like a GP50 or GP60 vs this GP38?
We also have these available in DC/silent versions for those who don't want DCC or would like to use a different decoder. In a nutshell, the GP38 was designed for light road use and switching duties while the GP50/60 were higher horsepower units originally built for mainline freight.
@@rapidotrains For me? I would rather have some in N scale GP38-2 in Southern Pacific. Yes I know there are versions I can buy out there? But they are not of the quality of Rapidotrains. I have a whole list of equipment I would love to buy from Rapido Trains.
I’m excited for these! I’ve got 2 already on order but I’ll probably get a 3rd. If y’all could do a Barriger red MKT straight 38 in a future run, you’d get ALL my money lol. This is like a crack addiction without the illegal part. 😊

We'll keep them in mind! They did have a number of second hand rebuilt GP38s.
@@rapidotrains Thank You Very Much. It’s very much appreciated. A loyal customer. That’s what my friends tell me. LOL
Wouldn’t mind some on the ex Seaboard side of CSX next time around
Hoping for L&N 38 and 38ACs, and Clinchfield blue units.
We'll keep them in mind!
I know for sure if you ever do the GP38-2 i'll need at least 2 ex Sou with ditchlights.
👍
Really!!!! Comment number one !!!!!!! Jason!!!!!!!! We can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!
👍
Any plans for Chessie System EMDs in the next run?
These look amazing. Thanks for the update.
No problem 👍
Not a UP?
Not in the first release, but we'll likely do them in the future.
Some really beautiful engines you have been very busy designing. Well done guys enjoyed that.
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
Thanks, you too!

Great, thanks! These should be ready to begin production shortly.
Beauty, eh!! Got my order in! Can’t wait!
Thanks for the orders!
Looks great. I will need to wait for some Canadian road names but these still look good.
We'll be looking at doing some Canadian roads in the future!
@@rapidotrains my vote is for ONR. Just saying, lots of paint scheme there with just the one road name.

It may be a while until the next release of RDCs, but we'll look at doing those roads when the time comes.
Are these available in the UK to order now?
The order book through Rapido UK closed at the order deadline, but dealers may have extras on order for stock.
NICE!!!
is there a GMD -2 version coming soon too ??
We haven't planned for Dash-2 variants as of yet, but we'll consider it for the future.

Still waiting on my 4. Maybe one day they will be here
Production should be getting under way soon. These are expected early in 2024.
I have 4 on order and 3 C30-7's. lots of money tied up
Have you guys ever thought about doing a model of the MLW S7? Believe it or not there is actually one left in existence, number 8223.
That would be a good model to do!
Where is complete product archives? I don't need pictures but at least item name and model number, organized by body style.
Great video. You guys should make a CNR u1b
Maybe one day!
At the end of this video I ran around my house three times, shouting my praises of RAPIDO!
That's awesome!
When will you guys ever do the locomotives for ACE and Caltrain to go with the commuter cars
Not currently in the plans, but anything is possible down the road.
H6g when?
The H6g 4-6-0 project remains on hold for the time being due to low preorder sales to date. We'll be revisiting this project in the future however.
hello never bought anything from Rapido might buy that mystery box
👍
SP?
Maybe in a future release.

Any chance we can get these in N-scale?
Not planned at the moment, but anything is possible in the future.
As a guy who grew up with Burlington Northern and BNSF, this makes me happy! Hopefully Frisco gets added in the future so the trifecta is complete!
👍
very cool!
👍
Just making me drool for. CP Rail version.
We'd like to do the CP GP38AC units in the future.

👍
I just want an update for the Turbotrain
We'll be posting an update as soon as it becomes available. The factory is working on the revised tooling and they are somewhat slow.
Beautiful but to big 😢
How about the Union Pacific GP38-2
We aren't planning on doing the later Dash-2 versions at the moment as others have done them, but anything is possible.
