    The capsize of the Herald of Free Enterprise was caused by an unfortunate series of circumstances (open bow doors, increased draft as a result of squat, wave height). The free liquid surface of the flood water on the lower car deck caused a fatal instability of the hull. Enquiries led to new insights and improved stability measures and standards for car ferries.

    Thanks for this great repo. Is the ferry at the right at 2:07 the new built Olau Hollandia-1?

      No, it is one of the ferries of this class, probably HERALD OF FREE ENTERPRISE. OLAU HOLLANDIA was built at Seebeck Werft. Only later did Schichau Unterweser AG and Seebeckwerft merge to form Schichau Seebeckwerft.
