    Hey there. I like your videos. Thanks for sharing. It would be cool if talked more about what indicators you are using to confirm ID. It would also be cool if talked more about the specific environments you’re finding specific mushrooms in

    I guess the mushroom you found that often on dead wood is Clitocybula platyphylla. Cannot confirm it to 100% via video, though.

    Some good finds, we are having hot dry weather in the UK so not much to find at the moment! With those older scarletinas, do you remove the spore tubes before drying or do you leave them attached?

      I often remove them, also sometimes I decide to not use old mushrooms at all when having a second look at home.

    Online says the scarlatina is 4/5 edibility, other people say they won't eat Boletes that bruise/ stain blue or green. Any reason or method of special cooking? Make a video on it?

      Scarletinas and similar mushrooms can cause stomach issues if not cooked well. The recommendation is to cook them for at least 15-20 minutes.

    hey luke im still frightened by boletes because i have just started foraging this.year. I think i have found a few of these scarletinas but the teacher on a course I went on said to be safe dont pick boletes that stain blue and have red markings to be safe. I guess i will get more confident with time?

      Yeah it's a good advice to avoid such mushrooms if you are a beginner. I personally was avoiding picking scarletinas for a very long time, I only started to pick them a few years ago when I got sure I can 100% recognize them.

      @@LukesMushrooms thanks for replying! I have found boletes with yellow pores where only the pores stain blue but not the flesh ? I have heard that that means its edible?
      If im the smallest bit in doubt i never risk it
      I found a few birch boletes today , oysters, 2 saffron milk cap and chanterelles :)

      Congrats to your finds :) And yes, it's a good habit to not risk when you don't know the mushrooms. About staining blue, there are so many mushrooms with this feature and some are edible, some poisonous, some are protected... So only pick those mushrooms you are 100% sure about :)

    Hello Luke, is it possible for you to give us the slovak names of the mushrooms if you do know them, I live in Slovakia around Hodruša Hamre, thank you in advance.

      @LukesMushrooms  2 года назад +1

      Hello / Ahoj. I decided the main language of this channel will be English so I don't want to have Slovak names for every mushroom too. But I also try to include Latin so it should be easy to search for that.
