The mold showed a lack of R&D work before the product was brought to market. R&D work normally included shelf stability testing. Stability testing would have caught the mold issue before the products hit the market. HP does stability testing on their inks and printers. Its not unreasonable to expect something similar for a food product.
Trying to blame the moldy cheese on shipping jostling the boxes around when in some of these videos it's obvious they weren't sealed properly at the factory. 11:38 there's a giant gap where the residue from the adhesive would've been if it was on there. Even if they're sealed from some sort of heat/melting treatment, that just makes it worse it's leaving holes that big.

It's very possible that the seals on the packaging were the main issue. Good enough to make it out of the factory mold-free, but not good enough to avoid mold growing prior to expiration after it left the factory. That would also explain why it became a more common issue after about a month. It's still possible it was moldy from the source, but not a sure thing. Either way, it's still on the Lunchly team to get that right. And I don't buy that it was down to negligence by the store/transit. Normal packaged cheese would have issues like this at way higher rates if that was such a common issue.

Mold spores being present in the facility packaging Lunchables would mean that practically all the "real cheese" was prone to becoming moldy faster. Especially in humid conditions and worse again if the place had an Hvac system "which it likely did". Only takes a few days for the whole area of that facility to wind up compromised by food mold.

I've seen prime in my college campus store, and I've also seen mrbeast branded jerky. I have never heard of mrbeast jerky before, and I'm ashamed I bought one pack (I didn't look too hard at the package, and thought it was sweet tarts... I really didn't look too hard before buying it).
If you're not in the US (and probably Canada), you won't see that chocolate anywhere. The quality isn't great even for US chocolate and compared to other chocolate in other countries it's just junk.

I've seen prime in my college campus store, and I've also seen mrbeast branded jerky. I have never heard of mrbeast jerky before, and I'm ashamed I bought one pack (I didn't look too hard at the package, and thought it was sweet tarts... I really didn't look too hard before buying it).

If you're not in the US (and probably Canada), you won't see that chocolate anywhere. The quality isn't great even for US chocolate and compared to other chocolate in other countries it's just junk.

14:55 just want to point out even though I’ve only started working on supermarket retail, thing is that if lunchly is packaged in a box which is part of the product even if it is in stock on the shop floor, the night shift team are not allow to open any box products like cereals which is going to be considered damaged, it’s not the supermarket staffs problem for not checking if the condition of lunchly products and it’s also a waste of delivery and money

Ive seen massive shipments being immediately binned if a trucks internal temperature was 1 degree too warm. Like refrigeration and package integrity is a massively monitored factor during food transport. It's kinda trying to push away responsibility from themselves.

I was immediately set off by the marketing, no need to taste it. 'Less calories'... in a kid's lunch... Disgusting. That's how you advertise adult food. Kids need calories! Like wtf are they doing??? Do they think kids do photosynthesis??? School lunches are already tiny, you shouldn't be doing less than the school.
It bugged me how this product was marketed as a kid's meal but had nothing of value to children... Drinks that didn't make sense for a little kid, candy that we already know he changed to be less healthy for profit, and let's not forget the lack of quality control leading to mold.
It's gross. I don't care if it tastes great, that's disgusting. Parents are better off buying a quality lunch box and packing leftovers at that point. Why buy something that's going to leave your kid hungry all day?

It's as if lunchables knew for the product to be edible and safe they needed to use a slightly altered version of 'cheese' to ensure it stayed fresh. Using 'real' cheese means it goes off very quickly 😂
