Yes listen to Village Green Society! Awesome album. You should check out their next album, Arthur, as well. Two of the most overlooked masterpieces in rock.
The Kinks are my number 1 nostalgia band. My dad loved them and always played their best of/greatest hits cassette on journeys. It's almost impossible to, but even when I try to be distance myself from the nostalgia and be as "objective" about them as I can, I still view them as such a wonderful band with so many great songs. Ray Davies is a truly brilliant songwriter.
Though I'd been a Kinks fan since the 60's, I'd never heard this song before I bought a "Best Of" CD, and the morte i listened to it the better I liked it. Perhaps even more than "Waterloo Sunset" (which is saying a lot).
An awesome band. Sir Ray, and I believe that he is the only person deserving of the title, is a songwriting genius. Extraordinary. Try Autumn Almanac. We, as humans, do not deserve this band.
Why do you call it Baroque? That term relates to music from the 18th and 17th centuries. I'm not sure what you are getting at by using it in reference to modern music.
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek I've heard of them but they are not the same as Baroque music from the Baroque period. Folk Rock is certainly not Baroque either.

Ray Davies is probably my favorite lyricist. I say probably because he has competition

Have you not heard of Baroque pop? What about folk rock?

@@heliotropezzz333 no but it's baroque influence on pop. Baroque is technically a period but its also a musical style.
