- Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday! This week I'm going to show you how to create a lovely Tea Party in a Book Box Folio with Prima Marketing "The Home Baker".
We will create "The Home Baker" folio together in this tutorial. The measurements and score lines for the Graphic 45 "Season to Celebrate" folio are the same. You can find a linked supply list for both folios on my blog at:
wp.me/p34lmI-7zP
Here are the basic measurements for BOTH folio bases:
(2) 8 1/2" x 7" panels of 110# cardstock
Join with 1/4" scor-tape and score at 3", 8" and 9"; fold on the 9" score line and score again at 5" and 6".
Cut a 4" x 7" panel of the same cardstock using the offcut from creating the base. Adhere the top, bottom and right hand side on the right hand flap of the folio base. This creates a pocket inside the folio.
Cardstock liners: choose a complementary cardstock and cut liners for the base as follows: (4) 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" panels; (2) 2 3/4" x 6 3/4" panels; (3) 7/8" x 6 7/8" panels for the spines; (1) 3" x 6 3/4" panel scored at 1" and 2" for the left hand outer spine; (1) 1 5/8" x 6 3/4" for the side pocket face; (1) 2 1/8" x 6 3/4" panel to line the inside of the pocket; (
Box Pocket: 7 3/4" x 4" panel of the same cardstock. Score (2) 3/4" lines on the left, right and bottom of this panel. For the liner: 6 1/4" x 3 1/4" scored 3/4" on left, right and bottom. This slips over the box pocket.
Front Cover: 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" patterned paper embellished as seen in the video and in pictures.
Left Hand Flap: 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" ; inside flap: for G45 project cut a panel to 2 1/2" x 6 1/2". Then create a pocket with a cut apart element and gussets.
For The Home Baker flap page: 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" panel scored 6 1/2" from the bottom edge
Right Hand Flap: For G45 project: 4x6 images trimmed to 3 3/4" wide; score between the 2 images and adhere to the flap. Use ephemera bits for turn tabs;
For "The Home Baker"; Trim out the mouse image from the 12x12 papers to 8 1/2" x 6 1/2". From the left hand side score at 1 1/2" and 5". Accordion fold. Wrap with twine and attach to the flap. The waterfall feature requires (2) 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" panels of cardstock scored 1/2" at the top and (2) 3x4 journal cards.
Inside RH Flap: 1 1/4" x 6 1/2" panel to cover the pocket flap; 2" x 6 1/2" to line the pocket. Insert journal cards, recipe cards or tags.
Inside Left Hand Flap:
For the G 45 project: Kinetic Waterfall: (2) 4" x 6 1/2" panels of Patterns & Solids. Score the top panel at 1/2", 1", 1 1/2" and 2". Wrap the first 1/2" scored line behind the second panel and adhere. Cut (3) 4" x 3" panels of the floral pattern and adhere just below each scored line. You will also need a 5 1/4" x 1 1/2" strip for the mechanism band and liners cut to fit. You can watch a video showing you how to create a kinetic waterfall feature here: • Stamperia Gear Up for ...
For The Home Baker Pop Up Flap: 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" patterned paper; 4 1/4" x 6" striped patterned paper. Score a 1/2" flap on the bottom edge, wrap around the base of the 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" patterned paper and adhere as a flap.
Pop up mechanisms:
1) 4 1/4" x 6" scored at 1 1/2", 3" and 4 1/2"
2) 4 1/4" x 4" scored at 1", 2", and 3"
3) 1 1/2" x 3" scored at 3/4" , 1 1/2" and 2 1/4"
4) 1 1/4 x 3" scored at 3/4", 1 1/2" and 2 1/4"
5) 3" x 3" scored at 3/4" , 1 1/2" and 2 1/4"; remember to place adhesive on the top flap only on the left and right. Leave the middle inch without adhesive.
This birthday card folio is just absolutely gorgeous Kathy! I love all of your projects and this one is my new favorite! I love the Home Baker collection and you have certainly shown it off beautifully! ❤❤❤❤❤
Awww, that's so sweet! I love the Home Baker collection too. Happy crafting!
Hello Kathy, this is a must for me to make!! LOVELY, YOU ARW AWESOME 😊 This collection and what you have done with it is wonderfully done. GREAT JOB Kathy 👏 Thank you so much for sharing your creations with us all. 💐💖
Awww! Thank you my friend! I'm so glad you like it! Your kind words made my day today!
Home Baker has such unusual, yet pleasing, colors. Your base and matte colors are such a well coordinated combination. I finally got around to adding an 8" bone folder to my tool inventory...makes this box pocket so much easier to adhere into place...don't know why I "made do" with only a 6" for so long. My favorite part of these wonderful projects is the spine embellishment of The Home Baker...every element is just right...thank you for the close-up photo! Fussy cutting the edge of the pull-out feature looks wonderful and using baker's twine was such a good decision. As much as I like a nice tea theme, it's The Home Baker that gets my creative attention. Loved seeing these 2 projects come together!! Thank you for this most enjoyable afternoon, Kathy...much appreciated.
Hello, Dear Martie! I'm so glad you spent time with me this afternoon! I agree...it's hard to beat the appeal of The Home Baker collection. It's just so delightful in every way. You will love having the larger bone folder in your tool kit, too. Good for you! Thanks for always making my day with your kind comments! Happy crafting and stay warm and well, my friend!
I love your projects and still do! My only hesitation to watching your tutorials is the money I will spending to get all these papers and ephemera afterwards ! Lol, it always happens. I cant help it, your projects are so adorable! Happy New Year! Hugs, Cindy
Oh, dear, Diane! I'm sorry I've been draining your piggy bank! LOL You sound like me: I just can't seem to resist beautiful papers! Thank you so much for your very kind words, and for sharing this lovely comment. Happy crafting and Happy New year!
The Home Baker folio is absolutely darling. I can’t wait to make it.
Thank you! I hope you have as much fun with it as I did!
Beautiful!! Especially love the pop page. I have this adorable collection with the exception of the 4 x 6 journaling recipe cards. Unfortunately they were sold out when I ordered this collection and I’m hoping that they get them back in.
Hi, Kim! I know...I want more of those recipe cards, too! This collection is fast-disappearing, so I'm glad you have it in your stash. I have had such fun with it! Thank you so much for the sweet words!
Urw! You are mindful of us towards the middle, I should’ve waited to comment till the end😊
Thank you...I really do try to keep that in mind. It's a balancing act between keeping newbies in the loop and keeping faithful followers from being bored. I appreciate your reply and look forward to getting to know you better here.

Hello! First timer to your channel here. Really like the tutorial, thank you. Suggestion, when giving instruction, keep us 1st timers in mind when you say "you've probably seen me do this a few times"...nope, I haven't seen you once before :) so, if you would plz keep us in mind!! Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and for the suggestion! I'll make sure to be more mindful of the "first-timers" in my future tutorials!
Work in progress......❤❤❤❤
Yay! Have fun, my friend!
Could this collection pair with Nana’s Kitchen? In my mind it does. lol. I really need to pick this up, I love the projects you have made with this collection!
I think maybe some of it would work with Nana, Stacye, but the greens are a little more grey in Home Baker and a little more aqua in Nana. But some would work, I'm sure! I'll be sharing a project with Nana's Kitchen for Wind back Wednesday next week.
you could call it "Wind back Wednesday"
Heather, you are my hero! I'll do just that! What a great suggestion! Thank you!
