This is just proper defending covering the space instead of running after the ball. For those struggling with legendary, simply forget about getting the back ball and instead get the opponent to bring it to you. If you're not recovering it, just track back a little bit more. Be patient and let the other player choke on your stonewalling.
Yeah that would be great except it takes 1/10th of the effort on offense that you have to put out on defense. No thanks. This game sucks ⚽️⚽️. Bring back the balance they had in FIFA 12. That was the best football video I game ever played. Took actual skill on BOTH offense and defense. The game was about who was better with the sticks, vision, anticipation, etc. All things that a sports game should be based on.
If the defenders reaction are still nerfed when you press L1… none of this matters, I play in legend and the nerfing is ridiculous… it gives the attacker a huge advantage before your defender finally reacts and starts running
I alr meet alot defending enemy like this and what i do is immedietly change from L1 to R1 preparation for finesse shot or with L2+R1 for trivela finesse shot
Literally if the game was ever realistic this is how you should always defend. But since meta players lock on to the ball it’s just spam tackle and defenders win it.

What a trashy game. From 2018 onawards ea nerfed the defense to make it easy to score goals. It's understandable though i guess because this is appealing to fut players who get dopamine hits from cheap goals and end up spending more boosting their sales as a result. Sprint boost.. senseless feature
