All the information he mentioned is true, but minimum years of becoming a psychologist is 6years provided that you get in first time of applying
3 years undergraduate, 1 honours 2 Masters (Coursework & Internship) + 1 year comserve if you’re going the clinical psychology route.

There's also neuropsychologist, the highest paying specialization, clinical second but with industrial very flexible can earn a lot depending on how big the company you work for or how many companies do you offer your services to, so arguably it can be the highest paid.

In South Africa, prospective students passionate about psychology have two main educational paths to consider: a 4-year B-Psych equivalent degree or a 4-year social work degree with a psychology major. These options enable you to be competitive in the wellness job market while pursuing your Honours degree in psychology or exploring opportunities in less intense fields, such as employee wellbeing or general counselling, which are less demanding than clinical psychology. These two qualifications are professionally recognised by regulatory bodies in SA. You cannot register with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) with only a postgraduate Honours degree in Psychology or a 3-year BA in psychology. But at least with a 4-year B-Psych you can as either a Psychometrist or counsellor and with Social Work you can register with SACSSP which is even internationally recognised. Extras, SW can offer professional counselling, child maintenance issues, and so many other court related duties.

I liked even before watching because finally some light to an underated and misunderstood profession, that pays very good money.

Yoh Gift it’s like you knew I’m skeptical on wether I want to study psychology. Mainly because there’s this fear that has been instilled in me that “ there’s no jobs for this field “ “ it’s not paying” but to me it’s about my passion.I really want to go into this field and after this I definitely will

It depends on the type of degree you choose you do. There's a BPsych, BA with a major in psychology or a BSS with a major in psychology. I do BA. and my major is English and Industrial psychology at UKZN ( with BA and BSS you need to have a double major). At my school you need atleast 28 points and a 60-65% final mark in english. Hope this helps!!!! ;)
