What i find very useful is a small lunch box that you can put all the small loose stuff in, cooking utensils and cutlery. Even salt and pepper. The inkbird & meat probes sits in there nicely too! It nests inside my plastic camping box and it's the first thing i pull out after I've set the table up. Everything is ready to use. Organisation is key, nothing more annoying than realising you left something at home or you can't find it
Great to see you using such budget items to make such amazing food and content, gives hope to us hopeless cooks lol.. Very “USEFUL” kit you have mate, love the videos..
Thanks again Harry - you bottom 10 Influenza!! I ALWAYS find a useful tip (or 2) in your videos. Keep rolling and don't forget to hit "Record". Cheers, Al.
A couple of tips I use myself - don't worry about cheap arse cutlery from kmart or wherever. I got handfuls of good quality second hand stuff at salvos stores and they're stainless steel and comfortable to hold and a lot better quality. I think I paid about 1 dollar each per knife, and I fork and spoons. I actually store all my cutlery in a supapeg tent pegs bag. Perfect size and has a velco flap to stop them falling out. Heaps 'useful'.
Some very good and useful tips through this one! We are setting up our camping setup and am thinking we need to level up a few things like S&P grinders/ knives etc the pencil case like bags look good to help contain the cutlery.
You’re a very useful man with all your tricks and tips. The wife and I have been following you for a couple of years and always get some useful ideas to try out at home or while camping. I have been passing it all on to the grandkids so they can enjoy this great country we live in. You have truly changed our cooking habits at home and around the campfire. Thanks for all you do. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your" useful " explanation of the gear you use in a small budget camping set up... all good advice... thank you... looking forward to the next vid..
Another very useful video. I'm just getting back into camping again and helped highlight all the key items to take away. Will be heading to the shops to grab a few bits for my next adventure
It’s really refreshing to see someone who actually uses everything not just promote things without telling viewers that is the only reason. I like your combination of things you refuse to use and things that are unecessary to splurge on. Very cool video and very useful, thank you.
What I find particularly useful is one of the stainless steel, raised firepits from Kings because it enables us to have a fire for both cooking & to use as a camp-fire, without burning the grass underneath it. In fact, even with a good fire going in the pit, I can still hold my hand on the metal base. I use it in conjunction with my Camp brae cooking basket.
This is a perfect video - clear, precise and straight to the point information with the links to the exact gear and website. I'm trying to set up my wagon for off-grid camping, having come from an ancient caravan (rest its sole) and this video has been so Useful. Thanks heaps and keep up the good work!!
Thanks Harry, those Aussie Arvo boys have come in useful again. Great vids traipsing around the high country here in Vic and it's good to see what you have packed.
I find videos like this quite “useful” as I’m trying to kit the back of my car out at the moment. Already bought the camp oven and a pair of 7inch bushranger lights from snowys. Great shop.
I love having a nosey through other peoples setups, very useful. The op shop is good for camp box gear. Especially second hand tea towels as new ones aren't broke in and are no good until they have been used for abit
USEFUL af. I have solved my kitchen gadget conundrum with GCI Mastercook station. I replaced the plastic stuff with small metal utensils from the dollar store. I did add my thermapen as well because fuck cheap thermometers. I also keep my collapsible coffee maker in their. I loved those knives!! I always just brought my Victorinox Fibrox 8" with it's protective sheath with me that I always sharpen just before I go. As far as pans, I have been using my Lodge cast iron pot with lid that doubles as a secondary pan. I also bring my two MSR pots but I have been thinking about upgrading to the Stanley Tri-Ply series. I haven't seen many reviews on it but I have always dreamed of All-Clad doing a set of camp pans. You're container system is awesome. I definitely need to upgrade my cheap flat Sterilite containers, they are bound to break one of these day.
Useful I recently was gifted the Fire Chef knife set with the Leather roll, based on your recommendations, and I absolutely love them! Imeven purchased the knife sharoener and patina set to season them. I use the chef and petty knife all the time, and I knownthese will last forever! It is good to know that dipping them in vinegar will get rid of any rust. Great vid Harry!
The collapsible washing up tub is one of the most helpful, useful, and space saving things! Can't agree more on needing a decent (at least sharp) knife for cooking! Great video as always, cheers!
This cheap and cheerful camp cooking kit is so useful. We started watching your channel ages ago but we don’t ever comment on videos. The first video we watched was one where you cooked ghee potatoes, they have become an absolute staple when we go camping. Thanks for all the great work you put into your videos.. 👍
Thanks Harry. We are lucky that here in Adelaide we live near a Snowys Outdoors shop. They have heaps of Useful gear. The Blacksmith bags are made locally as well, they are also useful.
just watched this video while camped at Talaroo Hot Springs in our SUV camper trailer. Very useful info, things I hadn't thought of like using a handtowel instead of a flimsy teatowel.
Nice setup, budget friendly. I still use a bunch of stuff leftover from years ago backpack camp days. I can't justify replacing it and I'm sure it'll last forever.
I wish I'd realised the Campfire frypan handles were removable before I'd bought my current frypan, that's a super useful feature for saving space when storing the pans. So many other pots/pans with removable handles are cheap fiddly junk, I just need something that I can take off while it's sitting in my drawers.
Hi harry this is one of the reasons I love you channel ,and of course you great Adventures i have learnt alot and no doubt more as you take us long, cheers for that stay safe stay happy from me V ,from down south WA ps Thankyou so much for your book and stickers Marty gave them to me last Monday best Pressie ,again Many thanks 👍🥰
So much useful info and great hints indicating where one actually should spend there $$ and where budget will do. Videos are to the point and very watchable, well done on the growth of your channel.
Thanks Harry. It’s useful to be reminded that we don’t need to spend a fortune on our set up. (Tho I share your commitment to quality knives). Good job,
Your book i so useful. I use it all the time. Thank you.
Buy the Lexus
Are you two going to do a video together?
Man I want it so bad
Doesn't line up with the budget edition episode though!
Now that would be useful.
Basic Andy. Those Lexus won't be as 'useful' as a Jimny!
