Being a Catholic Christian in this modern world with the 21st century is sometimes not easy because sometimes I'm surrounded by people at work who don't believe in what I believe and I try my best to keep my distance from them and not have anything to do with them. And I thank God that I go to a Catholic youth group and they're a good influence and they're very supportive of me.

I messed up as a mom.... I stressed for years to encourage healthy self confidence in my kids. Unfortunately what has happened is a new " social given term " I created a narcissist... I really messed up.... I am so regretful...

SO THRILLED! I got to meet Pastor Paul in person for the SECOND time! The first time was two years ago- Dec '19, and now again today Sun, Nov 14, '21! I'm from CA but my wonderful cousin in Boise ID (SO BLESSED-thank you Cuz) let me borrow her car to attend Calvary Chapel Ontario (an hr. away) in person! Pastor Paul's sermons are AWESOME, and today was no exception! I'm praying to move closer so I can attend CCO and still be close enough to visit my relatives regularly! CC0 is the BEST Church on the planet because of Pastor Paul LeBoutillier! May God continue to bless you Pastor Paul and all the thousands of souls you have so positively affected including mine!

This terrifies me. I don’t want to be a narcissist but being raised amongst it then surviving a 10 year relationship in it. I feel like I have to protect myself. I’m trying to stay sensitive for the sake of my child. In fact, I submit this as a petition to the Lord, please help me to continue to love you and lean on you for everything. This is indeed the world today and it is sad. Sad that the world has gone so far astray, sad that believers are being duped into believing these lies. I know a family member (christian) who believes a niece I have who is female is actually a male because they said they were.

I call it the” narcissist scripture”.
In USA we use DSM, Axis 2, Cluster B to diagnose some of the Personality Disorders:
antisocial, borderline, histrionic & narcissism.
IMO, there’s a spiritual element in every
“mental illness”.
It’s a close match between what’s written in
2 Timothy 3 and DSM’s description of a pathological selfishness.
31:19 it says there’s no condemnation for those who are in Christ and walk by the spirit ! That latter part is very important, you can’t believe in Christ and continue doing whatever it is you want. The spirit should influence all your life

That's true. The problem is that self-loathing and self-love both come from the same root, which is an inflated self-focus.

Not being lover of self doesn't necessarily mean loath yourself. Lover of self in this context I believe refers to being overly concerned with self, obsessed with self. Me myself and I culture where everything is to please self is what the Bible is talking about. I think Romans 12:3 gives us a better idea of what to think of self. "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you."
