The new PIA system has been an utter nightmare for me. I had scored well in the SJT before and had gotten my first choices for 2023. But due to other issues I could not join, and had to rejoin for 2024. This time around , i was randomly allocated undisclosed rank that got me an allocation in wales ( my second last preference) , into a placeholder group while others got allocated into hospitals and now finally in a secluded hospital. Atleast with the SJT, I could take responsibility for my own poor score. In the new system, if you happen to get a bad rank , you're utterly screwed for no fault of your own.
I think you would be considered equal but I am not sure. Maybe check this website to check your eligibility to apply for the UK Foundation Year Programme (foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/programmes/2-year-foundation-programme/eligibility-information/ukfp-2025-eligibility-applications-what-you-will-need/)
Hi Rohan! Thanks for your video. Can a person from outside the UK apply for the Foundation Program as well? do they have to pass any other test or any other filter? Thanks in advance!
Yes they can, but I'm not an expert so I'm not too sure what the individual steps are for international medical graduates to enter the foundation program. I believe they need to pass the PLAB exam. This website: foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/programmes/2-year-foundation-programme/eligibility-information/ should give the most up to date information.
Amen. What a positive way to end this video. GOD bless you my dear Rohan ❤

I went to medical school in the USA and am US citizen, but passed PLAB. Can I apply for SFP and considered equal to a UK grad?
