- Harvesting sweet potatoes from our Square Foot Garden. We got 120 pounds of potatoes came from 1 organic sweet potato that we bought a sprouted. The soil mix by measure: 1/3 peat moss (fluffed), 1/3 coarse vermiculite, 1/3 is a mixture of 4-5 different quality composts.
wow, fabulous, marvelous and at the end you thanked the good LORD. great testimony to this lost world
There's nothing more fun than digging potatoes and sweet potatoes or watching someone else do it. I could have watched you dig 10 acres of em and never gotten tired of it.
Beautiful garden and happy harvesting sweet potatoes.. God Bless you..
Wow 👏 this is beautiful. Praise God for the bountiful harvest. God is good
Yes! God is good!
That's an impressive amount of potatoes given the small area they grew in. Wow!
I love the idea of using cinder blocks for a raised bed. That is something we will have to try in the spring with our potatoes.
It's great too because the blocks can be shaped into interesting designs according to the contours of the land we are blessed to work with - shifted as well, extended, constricted if necessary....very flexible.... :-)
Wow.. it's amazing wide garden... It's a greenish environment... Ilove it....
You didn’t let us see the best part. I would have liked to see you digging all those sweet potatoes.
Wow, thats a lot of potato's for the size of the beds, thank for sharing. Cheers from Australia.

Absolutely beautiful and so many. We have moles here also, so many problems with them. Chicken wire is what I'm going to use. Thanks for sharing your great harvest.
Thats lovely ! Yummy sweet potatoes
Wow..terbaik
I love your beautiful garden. I got good idea from you.thank you
Love sweet potatoes. Going to grow them for my son in law, who can't seem to get enough potato salad with beetroot.
You are amazing. Love your work. 🌻🐝🥬
Thank you for watching and sharing a bit of your story!
Cutting back the vines will give you a smaller harvest. The leaves take in sunshine to nourish the plant and grow the tubers. Yes, you’ll need to do some extra watering to sustain all those leaves, but it’s worthwhile. Beautiful harvest
Thank you! I enjoy learning from others!
@@LeslieCaza are sweet potatoes hard to grow
@@mehchocolate1257 not if you live in a place where you have a good growing season they take about 100 to 120 days. They need to have deep enough soil at least 8in and free from rocks so they can grow without being obstructed. They need to be able to grow where the vines can spread freely, and there are a lot of vines. A complete fertilizer is also a good thing. I use compost and a product called revita pro. They also need to get a good amount of sunlight.
@@LeslieCaza can I grow them in my backyard In September
@@mehchocolate1257 likely only if you live in the southern hemisphere. As I said they need plenty of heat and that for 100 to 120 days.
Great 👌👌👌
Nice 👍🏼 thanks for showing 🙏🏽
I love harvesting a sweet potato . . Watching here from.Philippines. . Keep safe😍😍😍😍😍💓💓💓💓💓
Thank you for sharing from the other side of the world!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@LeslieCaza It my pleasure😘😘😘😘😘💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Wow.. our staple food in my country Philippines love watching yoreVideo.
Daaaayuuuuum!!
That’s siiiiick!
Bomb !
Great job.
Great video. Especially appreciated your mention of the Lord blessing you. May you continue to have bountiful harvest, bless you
God has really blest your garden. I live in Queensland Australia. I garden in raised garden beds, my sweet potato 🍠 grows well. But we have had a plague of mice that have got into our beds and have done the same thing as you have with our harvest. I successfully staggered my plantings so as to have harvest every month through the spring and summer .
Good idea, but does that work for sweet potatoes since they take a long time to grow? Are you referring to all your crops in general?
I love to watch full video of you digging sweet potato…
I couldn’t make out what you said about the fill / growing medium in your beds. Looks like you did everything right to me! Great harvest!
I make a mix: 1/3 of each peat moss (fluffed), coarse vermiculite, and a mixture of quality composts. Check out my You Tube on square for gardening.
Love this sweet potato it reminds me on my childhold in Philippines, we ate this as our bfast up dinner, and the vines it is agood vegetables as well
That is amazing, beautiful gardening, you have inspired me to give it a try but I do have moles/voles & I'll have to take some precautions
They do like the sweet potatoes. I had 2 separate beds for sweet potatoes about 50 feet apart. One was affected and one was not. We harvested 120 of good potatoes--the voles got about 10 pounds. So plant a few extra for them!
wonderful harvest
I'm enjoying from Scotland. God bless
Thank you! What fun! God bless you too!
Wow, really lovely
You must be pretty close to us. We are just outside of Memphis. Great harvest!
Chuck
I looked you up. Great set up!
Wow awsome harvest
Nós aqui em Angola, também aproveitamos as folhas da batata, com ela preparamos deliciosos pratos.
Nice harvest!!! I would have loved to see the digging too :)
Those leaves are awesome to eat, I eat em cooked n raw. cooked they have a Spinach type taste. they are very good for you n loaded with nutrients. The vines are also good to eat to. S/W TN resident also i live in a small town 10 minutes north of Millington TN
Wow abundant harvest 😍
Wow! What a great harvest. I wish I was there to get some potato tops for my soup. Watching from Spain 🇪🇸
That sounds fantastic. I must look up some recipes from Spain using sweet potatoes. I live in the Southern US where everyone talks about growing "greens", but brassicas & sweet potatoes are already an abundant source "greens" from their leaves & stems.
Marvellous
Yes! We were blessed with a nice harvest. I hope the same for you.
Beautiful harvest!
A Young Leaves Of Sweet Potatoes Are So Good, It Like A Spinach But You Can Cook It In A Few Seconds, You Don't Have To Boil It In A Medium Or High Heat. And You Can Add Some Sauce Like Soy Sauce And Lemon. In The Philippines Is A Lemonade Kalamansi To Mix It In A Soy Sauce Or You Can Do It In A Catsup Sauce But No Lemon To Add.
Thank you for the suggestions!
Wowza!! Great spuds
叶子保留下来,炒着吃非常好吃😋
Amazing harvest; too bad we missed it!
I underestimated my viewers! My apologies!
Yes I love watching these sweet potato harvests…not so much the vine cutting!! Next time let us see you dig!!
Excellent 👍
Don't cut the digging part it's very therapeutic, its everything hallelujah 🙌
I'll try to do better next time! Thank you for watching and for letting me know!
Awesome harvest🙏
Sweet potato leaves are superb food !
The actual digging of sweet potatoes is the therapeutic part. Sad it’s cut and missed. Please show us the digging part on your next one
True, it's like finding buried treasure but then the video would have been rather long. We got over 120 pounds of sweet potatoes.
@@LeslieCaza FYI, 20 min is fine for most and even 30 is fine for me.
@@LeslieCaza I am sure many would have been happy to sit and watch an hour, I know I would have to see the Archaeological dig in progress :)
Right, gardeners are a patient bunch! We'll happily watch long videos of plants, especially if they're satisfying, like harvesting
@@LeslieCaza my birthdat was on the 18th september
Hi! Enjoyed your video! It's great to see other no dig deep mulch organic gardeners! I just wanted to let you know that it 8s voles eating your sweet potatoes. Moles eat worms bugs and grubs. Voles eat plant material. I am a cut flower grower and the voles have wiped out several hundreds of asiatic and oriental lily bulbs in one season!!! I have learned to only grow plants they won't touch because of how damaging they are!
Interesting. It's odd because my second sweet potato bed did not get eaten at all. It is about 25-30 feet apart. Thanks for sharing!
It's just a matter of time before they start in on them. I've raised sweet potatoes for 15 years. Voles are most damaging. Squirrels usually eat the tops of mine bc if the soil isn't deep enough, they will start growing up from the top. Free food to the rats and squirrels . 😅@@LeslieCaza
Nice gardiing
Wow! Full of harvest. I'm too excited for my sweet potato to harvest soon. Greetings from Germany!🙂
That is incredible!!
Thank you.stay safe im new friend.from philippines.Godbless.
Good. And sweet potato leaves and eat them.Blanch it in boiling water add olive oil and salt, and stirfry it, and its sweet good to have a lot of dietary fiber, you raised it well.( 그리고 고구마 줄기에 달린 순은 끓는 물에 데쳐서 줄기의 껍질을 벗겨서 소금을 넣고 올리브유에 볶아 먹으면 식이 섬유가 많이 들어 있어 몸에 좋아요. )
Wow that was great 👍👏👌 idea
Now I learn how to plant sweet potatoes 🥔 that I don't need yo digging digging always so that the sweet potatoes got more on the harvest time
Bravo 👏👏👏 that a really great great job
Thanks lot 😊☺🙏😘❤
OMG wonderful. Yummy good job you guys.
Wow love that leaves...
Great harvest!
Wow! Loads of good eating! God is gooood!🙂
Hi Leslie you made my day. I love planting all kinds of veggies and sit and wait. You a very big harvest from a small patch. So nice to enjoy fruits of your labor, yeee ♥️👍
Thank you 🙏! Blessings
wow good madam,
Scaring me. When you bend over those metal rods they are so dangerous. You can easily poke yourself in the eye. Put old tennis balls on them. Great harvest!
New to your channel. What an abundant harvest. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for checking it out!
Awesome harvest
Good job 👍
Praise the lord for the amazing harvest.
That harvest is amazing. I hope mine is like that.
Super !!! thank you
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
In from the philippines and I love sweet potato. The tip of the vine can be eaten as well. We steam and sprinkle with salt and lemon or any vinaigrette dressing should do.
Ha, the deer take my vine tips out. I throw bird netting over them and they eat the vines up to the netting. They seem to do this just before it is time to harvest, so I have less vines to chop off the plants.
Awesome
Wow what a harvest!! My harvest it’s not even close to yours. If only we are neighbors I would definitely ask the sweet potato vine.
What a great harvest I'm your new friend watching here from the Philippines
I like your knife
Wow incredible harvest. I’m starting some in SW FL. 🙏
Nice 👍
Thanks for watching and for the thumbs up!
