I'm only 45, but I grew up watching these old movie stars as my mom was a huge fan of the golden age of Hollywood. They seemed like such decent lovely people for the most part - maybe a tad promiscuous which is hardly surprising considering the Hollywood atmosphere and lack of morals. But they produced a wonderful body of work that I fear is being lost to the upcoming generations. I believe they would hate the radicalization of our culture and the further decline into immorality and confusion. Such a shame we have slipped so far.
I discovered Burt’s round table with four women icons. All the women were gorgeous! Burt was awesome. So glad I found this round table of men icons. I enjoyed both shows. They were so well done that I wonder why Burt only did two shows
Thank you for putting these on here. I can't stop smiling! I was raised by a older generation, so these names were daily conversations at our house. Jimmy Stewart was one of the most talented gentlemen Hollywood ever had! These Burt Reynolds interviews remind me of a wonderful, happy time.
I just love this show it was some exciting to see all these male actors talk about personal things in their lives and to hear their laughter and enjoy the conversations with Burt, they were exciting to hear about . Especially Mickey Rooney how he felt about Judy Garland, it brought tears to my eyes knowing how he felt. Just watching these people, they were a part of my life and sure as others and to see that they're gone as well but the memories hopefully will live on and not forgotten 🥰👍❤️
how amazing is it (to anyone with a clue) that they were able to assemble such an amazing quartet of Hollywood gold at this table in one shot...this series was amazing and tragically forgotten while the mindless general public feasts on whatever crap Netflix and the like spew out. Burt was lucky to be able to do this and I don't doubt he knew it well. he was also a perfect host for this kind of thing, not just because of his charm but because of his respect for the "old guard" and being a bridge between them and the era he was part of that enabled him to do this. RIP Burt.
All five sitting there are great actors, but I'm telling you Mickey Rooney, probably the most unlikely is the best of them all. And before you say I'm crazy, or think it ... just go and watch some of his movies. He can make you, or anybody cry with his dramatic performances. No exaggeration! He, I think may have been one of the first of what I call, simply a great "natural actor," example: Jeff Bridges, Gary Cooper, etc.
You know Lional Barrymore was in constant pain. He had a special car built and he would drive up to his doctor's office and honk the horn, someone would come down and give him a shot for the pain. It was probably the shot that caused him to fall asleep. Suprised none of these guys knew that.
Burt was very good friends with these gentleman, especially Ricardo & Jimmy. Jimmy & Burt were actually neighbors for a long time. Burt worked with Ricardo on several occasions. Most of Burt's closest friends (whom he met when he 1st entered the business) were all older than he was, so he had the good fortune of hanging out with some really uncredible creative people over the years. He certainly also became connected with many greats, via his relationship with Dinah Shore.
True story about Disney and the mouse. Cause the original name was `Mortimer` Mouse. Never knew why Disney changed it and who or what inspired the change.
@@gmaureen Course not. As a matter of fact I think he was pretty competitive with Judy Garland so I never understood all that Judy, Judy sentiment. Also Van had worked with her on `The Good Old Summertime` but Rooney would not let him get a word in. Re: `Mortimer` Mouse. Read that somewhere else ie that `Uncle` Walt had named the nasty little mouse `Mortimer`. The concept as well as the name had negative fallout. So Disney had to go back to the drawing board, come up with a new concept (a more gentle, funnier mouse) and a new name (Mickey) Do not necessarily believe Disney asked him to climb up on my knee, sonny boy.
@@sandrashevey8252 Maybe Rooney was always given to embellishment/exaggeration, I don't know, but in his senior years he definitely did a good amount of it on talk shows. @@oldschoolmuscle4436 NO! He never faked anything! He was a devout Catholic and I have seen many, many of his interviews. He never wore a hairpiece. His hair was ALL his!
There will never be a gentleman like Jimmy Stewart again in Hollywood.
This is wonderful to hear these great stars in conversation. We will never see the likes of them again.
These films are treasures for those of us who remember these personalities. They are nearly forgotten. Thank you for playing these.
I have never heard of this Reynolds show! This is truly amazing to pull these guys together.
I never knew he had this show either. How did we miss it? It's incredible to see all four of these men together talking about old Hollywood.

That song Mickey Rooney composed for Judy Garland is so beautiful !!!

I'm a fan of all five men. Sadly these days are gone.
that generation are good story tellers

It's so nostalgic listening and seeing those wonderful people that are not with us today. Each great in their own Right. 💕 them and respect them.
I came for the conversation and stories and stayed for the commercials. Excellent time capsule with a background sound that now seems eerie.
Really great to watch these interviews with great legendary actors from the golden age of Hollywood, great stories

I miss this era
Absolutely fabulous hope there is more
These great stars are the real celebrities.
Loved the Cagney story. All of these men were wonderful, but Cagney had a special quality that I find hard to articulate.

Thanks for posting this! I was watching some videos on Burt Reynolds and I found these. Some really fascinating stuff.
This is one of the best interview shows that I never knew even existed!
Rooney, over the top as usual.

Wow. I remember so many of these commercials.
There’s no business like show business when you’ve got talent like this.
All here are GONE, only souvenirs.
James Stewart 🥰😍❤️🌹🥀

Mickey was a great storyteller, just don't take everything he said as fact.

I believe Mickey is the only one not wearing a toupee.
I don't think Van wore a toupee either...
Ricardo never wore a toupee!
Ricardo is wearing a toupee and not a good one like Burt has.
I count at least three hairpieces maybe four.
NOT Ricardo!
