    I guess people thought this video was going too show a bowfin fighting a snakehead?This video is about the visual diferences between the two fish so they don't get confused.People often can't tell the deference between a snakehead and a bowfin.

    • @timjones3158
      @timjones3158 3 года назад

      Yes and also as most people don't know the snakehead is a VERY invasive fish (killing out a LOT of the native fish in that body of water) that in most states the dept. of conservation wants you to kill them if caught! I applaud your video showing the difference of the two species, which look similar if you haven't caught them before! 👍

    I live in Coconut Creek and there are plenty of snakeheads here. I've caught snakeheads at night using chicken livers and top water frogs.

    Nice job kicking the turtle. /sarcasm Also, snakeheads do compete with bass, it's just not as bad as people think. They're both predatory and eat the same food.

    You should take up fishing. Maybe some day you can even touch one with your fingers. JK That looks like a lot of fun. I would have my freezer full year round with snakehead.

    Both fish jump but the snakehead it's more of a tailwalk. I haven't been peacock bass fishing maybe I'll try that sometime soon.what a topwater lure like a skitter walk or a zero spook?

    Quick question: Do you take the invasives out of the water? I know you have respect for them and I give them kudos for their fight too. But they do damage the ecosystem, correct? Nice fish and good video.

    • @twinbee13monsterhunter
      @twinbee13monsterhunter  9 лет назад

      The Republic Lancer They say that snakeheads compete for food with the native fish but I don't believe this. I still catch bass. Snakeheads are only in a couple of canals in Broward. I release all my snakeheads most people just kill them.

    • @matthewherzog6155
      @matthewherzog6155 9 лет назад +2

      +CaptainSolo So . . . snakeheads brought their prey with them? How can they not compete with bass and other native species? They eat whatever they can fit down their throats, just like bass and bowfin.

      There is always going to be trolls and complainers on everyone's videos doesn't matter what it is! Best thing to do with them is delete troll posts and ignore and or delete major complainers, and if they have a legitimate biotch I have found it best to either explain the reason/s how, why or "ok I will take that into consideration" and just move on it's not worth the stress or worrying about the negatives of bad comment's! 😉✌

    LOL Your not the only one to tell me that!! A couple of people said to me that they look ugly and scary.. I think their cool. I get hyped every time I catch one. I need too catch a real big 1. They don't really fight hard the big ones do thou. I think the top water hit is exciting to me because you can see them chase the lure.

    FLORIDA is a fishing paradise.
    I fish on the Suwannee River and also Loxahatchee Everglades west of Boca, in Florida.
    We tell the tourist the bowfin are "Cypress Trout".
    They get very excited.
    I caught a 5 foot gator on my white styrofoam bobber !
    He came right for it.
    He thought it was a marshmallow , cause the kids feed them.
    Still have whats left of it on the window sill at camp.
    I took a video but not sure if I should post it , cause the rangers might get upset.
    The gator was not harmed, but he sure fucked up my bobber !!

    Its not illegal to snag a snakehead since their a invasive species, but why would you want too no gamesmanship in that.Its more fun to catch them on a lure or soft plastic.I don't know if your saying snakeheads are easier to hold because their not thats why most people wack'em over the head with a little bat.In my opinion the snakehead is the best tasting freshwater fish comparable with grouper my only complaint some pieces of the filet may have some bones. I'll sub back but only if you promise to at least try and catch me a peacock on a surface lure :P

    Bowfin don't know how to do a death roll like the snakehead. The snakehead has alot of extremely sharp teeth the cut through 40lb braid I never had a bowfin break me off unlike snakeheads who break me off alot. I don't cheat unlike you who snags his fish! Neewwb Until you catch a snakehead your opinion means nothing to me. FYI snagging is illegal unless snagging bait fish such as mullet don't let FWC see you snagging its a expensive ticket neewwb!!!

  • @twinbee13monsterhunter
    @twinbee13monsterhunter  11 лет назад

    Why is it the one's who talk shit are the ones who don't know how 2 fish its obvious you never caught a bowfin before their skull is all bone the hook was stuck in there it was the only way I could get it out and don't worry it fell in the grass also we down here consider them junkfish it survived. Also dumbass that was a empty turtle shell stupid ass!!!

    Snakeheads do compete with other predators for food...whether it be native species or exotic introduced fish. They don't however, crawl up on the land to feed. So all your dog's and cats are safe ignorant people ,that know nothing other than what they hear or read. Bass and other predators are safe, they are not going to be eaten to extinction. They are just as aggressive as the Snakeheads...just don't have as big of teeth. I wish someone of the other 25+ species of Snakeheads were still legal to keep in a home aquarium. I have always wanted a group of Channa blehri(painted snakehead). They max out in size at 6-8" and are beautiful. Those and a few other species got banned before I could find any for sale. What a shame. Also, if I got tired of keeping them...I have no problem with killing them and disposing of the carcasses,instead of releasing them into the wild.
