My daughter got this for Christmas. She completed it in 4 days.
It has a steam-punk and decorative look to it, so no surprise you're allowed to display it. Also it's a nice talking point, not just the object, but the build, and astronomy too :)
My daughters got me one of these laser cut wooden kits a couple of Christmases ago - a little zeppelin, not the motorized one. It was much more fun than it had any right to be!
I ended up gluing the parts together and giving it a nice glossy varnish. Not that it needs it, the engineering is good enough that it holds together excellently, but I just wanted to. Watching this has made me yearn for another foray into these kits. I'd like to see how they look with a splash of colour, just some details here and there. Have to avoid any functional mechanical parts though. I think that they could jam quite easily with any thickness of paint on them, so I'll likely be sticking to the models without the mechanical moving parts for now. Looking forward to seeing the next part of this series!
Happy birthday, birthday brother! May this be your best year yet! And enjoy the cake!🎉
I remember putting the Rokr Owl clock together for my mom as a present. I loved putting it together. It was a nice and enjoyable build. That was until I tried to test it and it didn't work. It's been about 2 years and I still don't know what went wrong.
I will say, I want to give this Orrery a try. Even though the last kit didn't work, I like them. The owl was a nice build and this looks like an enjoyable kit. I would not mind giving them another chance with this kit.
Good, I did UGEARS Heavy Boy Truck VM-03, it's really fun, and Its a change of plastic models or RC truck. And seeing you doing something else from screwing screws in models. Its a good thing for your channel... !
Very coooooool! 👍
big question.. Pluto or no Pluto?
No Pluto. I think I will make one anyways lol
No Pluto? That’s Goofy. What kind of Mickey Mouse operation is this?
@@chrismorris8161 It's a Minnie version.
@@WorldofWayneUK well, there's a good couple of episodes for a Pluto mod. The engineering to integrate the additional mechanism is an interesting project. Sadly, one far beyond my meagre capabilities. I'm sure if you, Lou, and Ken got your heads together, you could do it!
Hi there. Just watched part 1, can't find part 2. Did you do any more?
I don't. I started doing the brass Model Solar System straight after so gave this to one of my viewers
Weeks and weeks to build by the look of it! lol Take your time and don't be tempted to rush it! Otherwise it will end up a pile of burnt ash!
Daughter (14) did it in 4 days
Hey Wayne would u get the Rokr Vitascope and the Rokr gramophone
I got one of that brand kits here instructions didn’t say anything about soaking pieces in water because of how that weave or whatever is cut in they still cracked and broke! So I’d say soak those pieces ahead of time! Why are those plastic screws it’s wood they should provide wood screws
nice build. i make too
Now you are building an product from rokr. Next time an product from ugears???
I’m doing a UGears clock soon
@@WorldofWayneUK that is a lovely build.
Extremely disappointed this is wood. There was an Orrery part-work years ago that was all BRASS !!!! Sadly long discontinued....
It’s still available on Amazon . I did it . amzn.to/3FjjATi
Currently unavailable on Amazon
@@WorldofWayneUK wasn't that an EagleMoss build? (Or one similar to it) If I remember right, that was one of the ones I was looking at that when I was going to start my first parts work build.
@@robertstout4764 Yep this one was from Eaglemoss
@@starbasecarolina3876 It's still shows available in the UK
