Hello! I understand the feeling of having to tread carefully on such a subject as this. I just want to let you know the video was a blessing. And I want to encourage you to stand up firmly and unapologetically for your Christian faith and values. You definitely achieved something with this video. I’m writing all the way from Cameroon - Central Africa. Looking forward to connecting in person whenever I will be in Portugal. Keep up the work u are doing.

My friend who just moved to Mexico was talking about this. It's really hard to find fellowship when you're traveling. Surely someone somewhere has made an organization. If I find one, I'll let you know! 😉

As someone who travelled to Jamaica to study three years ago and is seeking to begin travelling around for photography I struggled to find church groups or people that genuinely felt like Home. Not in terms of the same culture but that my spirit said yeah this is somewhere we can grow and be nutured. I have had terrible luck with church groups with most of them being far crys from the loving embrace I really expected . So for most of my life in JA i spent 'nomadic' in my walk and just had a group of friends I would break bread with and so on. So I totally get not having that community to really be encouraged by and challenged by as well. I pray you would find one or that the Lord grant you the capacity to build one for sure.

You explained this perfectly. I resonate with what you have said!! Esp. the part about going where your "spirit said yeah this is somewhere we can grow and be nutured". Thank you for sharing Keenan! I will keep you in my prayers as well!

    Young people really party alot.
Never done either and I won't ever. I don't see the appeal plus I'd like to not set myself up for early organ failure.

Not someone that travels, but I'm I'm a student in a foreign country.
I will say that I had 0 issues in regards to finding a church. Been going to one for months now and from day 1 they looked out for me, up until this day. They say that whatever assistance I need, I can call on them and they've done just that. The youth group as well.
However, outside of the church, I don't know anyone that's a Christian. Mainly, I don't seek out anyone on the basis of them being a Christian you know? Besides, it's difficult to find any in the schools.
Where I am, it's not like Jamaica where you can look at someone and assume they're a Christian. You'd have to be verbal and say, yes! I am a Christian, a child of God. Plus certain acts of kindness I'd say is just a trait we should all have, so I don't think that even can be used to say that someone is a Christian.
To stand out, you'd literally have to put yourself out. That's someone that most, including myself, struggle with. Worst being an introvert and not someone that's social.
    🤷🏾‍♀️

Oh, and the church I attend isn't my denomination, However, we share similar beliefs. I think there's only 1 or 2 things that this denomination believes in that mine doesn't teach.

That’s really great that you found a church!!! It’s such a blessing ! I have no doubt it helps a lot with your process being there and adjusting . You’re so right about being able to “spot” a “Christian” much easier in Jamaica hahaha I hadn’t really thought about it in that way, but you’re spot on!! 😂
Finding Christians outside of the church setting I agree is much more difficult.. it’s easy to blame ourselves too judging our outgoingness on a scale but the sad reality too to consider is that the world is moving more and more into a “secular” lifestyle … which is an inevitable variable in our everyday struggle as Christians including finding other Christians outside of a church setting ..
Thank you for commenting !! Your experience has been insightful! 🧡

Smoking, drugs and all is very fun, but partying not so much, but drugs in general can lead to real deep bonding. I’m Christian and use drugs, do tattooing etc. no reason to exclude things from life that I personally enjoy.

    Hi Chantelle,
It's kinda funny that you mentioned "drinking and smoking" from your Christian point of you.
My portuguese grand-mother who couldn't even read, used to bless folks with her rosary.
She was happily married +50 years to my grand father who used to smoke and drink everyday (and not just a little!)
Did you know that Pope John XXII used to smoke cigarettes? Some say that ex-pope Bénédict some some cigars..
Are smokers / drinkers bad people? Here for you, Putin doesn't drink / doesn't he smokes, yet he's currently killing many.
    ---
Is the new Christian generation less tolerant and more extremist?
That reminds me few TV documentaries about the youngs getting more involved in religion than they used to, 30/50 years ago.

Hi Sergio! It is always good to hear from you!
These are my perspectives on the whole matter:
I personally, would not label a catholic a "Christian" and even furthermore a "true Christian" at that. Actually, from my experience, "Catholics" self identify separately from "Christian" which is, for example, evidenced in documents that may ask you to fill out your religious orientation. Catholic and Christian, are always separate...
With that said, from my own Christian upbringing and POV, the Pope and Catholics aren't a representation of the true church, the Bible, how true Christians are supposed to live etc. Unfortunately in today's society, it is considered THE representation, and sadly many people use the Catholic church as a measuring stick for all Christians...There are many Catholic beliefs I don't see eye to eye with, and the core values of the organization esp when it comes to salvation etc are not values I'd like to be acquainted with.
Regarding smoking and drinking and if it determines if one is good or bad, we both know the answer to that canny question 😉 so I won't get into that...
To continue, Yes! I think this generation not necessarily specific to the Christian subset, is more tolerant, which the society has deemed a good evolution... but from a Christian perspective, it is not. There is less and less distinction between a Christian and a non-Christian which from a spiritual perspective is a negative thing.
I hope you understand my POVs here, we are coming from two different types of spiritual socialisation but I hope my answers have given you a broadened sense of the word "Christian" and furthermore, the term True Christian.

Churchianity, christianity and believing to Bible, all are different. You find "christians" but not true "christians" because never had much true believers in human history. Remember read your Bible every day, so I wont be only one who do that.
