  • Andalusian classical music is a style of Arabic music found in different styles across the Maghreb (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and to a lesser degree in Libya in the form of the Ma'luf style) and the Levant. It originated out of the music of Al-Andalus (Muslim Iberia) between the 9th and 15th centuries. Andalusian classical music orchestras are spread across the Maghreb. They use instruments including oud (lute), rabab (rebec), darbouka (goblet drums), taarija (tambourine), qanún (zither), and kamancheh.

Being Mexican it’s insane to think how deep the roots of culture go in regards to music. Rich on both sides, Aztec and going as far back as Vandals. Then those stringed instruments having their roots in the Middle East and spreading both west and east and influencing other cultures is honestly beautiful. Ima play this at the carñe asada while making tacos Al Pastor which originated in Lebanon 🇱🇧 and came with them when they came to Mexico 🇲🇽 in the 1930s.

I’ve recently recommitted myself to learning Spanish and it’s opened up a Pandora’s box as I’ve gone down the immense rabbit hole of Spanish-influenced music, inter-continental Hispanic history, how we merged with the Arabs in this period of Iberia, the indigenous of the Americas, were influenced by the West Africans as a result of the slave trade, how the language has major Italian/Latin influences.
Despite the wars and the conquest, Hispanic people are really groovy lol. Glad to see another brother going down the same avenues🤙🏽

There’s actually heavy immigration influence that doesn’t want to be acknowledged by the general population but that’s the same thing in any part of the world. Many escaped the horrors of the 20th century Europe and came to the americas and as a result it really boosted industrialization from Canada to Chile. History has always been one of my favorite subjects. Much love brother.

Im from Seville, Andalusia. I recently did a DNA test to learn more about my ethnic background and in fact Im about 10% North African and 2% Oriental Middle Eastern which makes historically sense because of the muslim rule especially in the south of Spain. Nevertheless the other 88% are split into European ethnicities: Native Iberian, Greek, Italian and Balkanic. I think this resembels very well the origin of people from ancient Al-Andalus. We're a mixture of many cultures and ethnicities and my beautiful home Andalucia represents all of them.

      @bozokluoglu_ 5 лет назад +6

@@evang7252 the fact you didn't have any Turkish gen doesn't mean another hundreds of thousands of Greeks might not share similar gens with us too. For centuries millions of Greeks as we call them Rumlar lived in either in the Aegean side or Central or Northeast (the Black Sea region) of Anatolia and then occurred the Mübadele which is the population exchange between Greece and Turkey. So until then there is a huge possibility that a Rum experienced a marital exchange with a Turk and with hundred percent possibility that Rum would have gens from central Asia even if it's less then five percent. Also if I'm not wrong contemporarily central asian gens compose an average %10 of Turks and the rest is predominantly Caucasian or Middle Eastern, as you might notice almost none of us look Asian nowadays with slanted-eyes and yellow skin. But at the end of the day we are still Turks.
And a very unfortunate p.s.: during the population exchange Orthodox Christian Turks which were inhabited around Karaman and rest of Anatolia were also expelled to Greece with rest of the Rums, those Turks spoke Turkish however wrote in Greek alphabet.

We don't, not here in Spain. Some people outside want to bring their fights here or start them, but we ourselves are friendly people and always were. The andalusian caliphate itself was pretty friendly for the times, you could worship whatever religion you wanted as long as it was monotheistic, and you just paid extra taxes if you weren't muslim.

I'm a white Christian. In Spain the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) left a foot print there a couple of thousand years ago sustaining the conquest until the the Crusades. All of a sudden you have Muslims and Catholics living in the same space. Not the current populations choice. The people of Spain are fierce, musically enclined to the max and hospitable to those that show respect...gratitude. The Muslim influenced music is beautiful and powerful. All Spanish music and dancing is fascinating. Politics and religion throughout history have stolen the common man his ability to exist in harmony. I believe we are worshipping the same God. Allah means God. Mohhamed acknowledged Jesus Christ. Christians during the crusades new Allah. Music and hospitality, true religious tolerance and intelligence can only save us if we ignore the political and corporate world and actively experience each others cultures...so our Children can live in peace with each other. Bless you man. Lets hope against all odds we can achieve cultural harmony.

Fight in the sea and religious war, the Jews expeled from here some went into North Africa and others went into the Ottoman Empire. The Mouriscos went mostly for Morocco and what is now Algeria.

It is Andalusian by name, they were people of the land who shows other savages in the north how to leave in peace accepting others with their believes. Also they founded the first School of music and Universities for learning, It was a first in the planet Earth.

I think in life its good to think on things that are good, lovely and wholesome.
To appreciate things well made, to appreciate creativity in others and indeed ourselves.
By the same token you can fill your minds with things that are opposite.
This music is lovely to listen to.
When listening to this it is as if the outside world simply doesnt matter for a while.

I always say Ojala, when I want something to go well, Ojala is a Spanish word from the Hispanic Arabic law šá lláh, this from the classical Arabic وشاء الله (wa-šā 'allāh, "If God wants" ).
The Spanish language is the result of the historical evolution of Latin, the language of Ancient Rome, spoken in the province of Hispania.
It is a Romance language, which received direct influence from Arabic and Berber.
Words of Arabic origin thus constitute the most important contribution to the Spanish lexicon after Latin.
With the Arab legacy, the Spanish language obtained its own identity, it became a much more beautiful language.
Hispanic American traditions, such as dances and music (Bolero, Merengue, Mariachi, Salsa, among other rhythms that use or used guitar) equestrian sports the Chilean rodeo, Mexican cowboy, Argentine Gaucho, Mexican Charreria, the culture of Hispanic American riders, horses Thoroughbred, the name of cities like Guadalajara, Cordoba, have a common origin in Arab Spain.
    Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽

@A D Um, yes, they wage war on people like Palestinian kids, who, are sometimes killed, and remove women who are trying to pray, and also have idiotic ads where they literally show that a Burqa/Abaya is a sign of for fearfulness, and all that happens is from those ads is that people hate an entire ethnic group. Smart choice
