THat is Awesome ! I just found your channel and subbed. I feel ya, I just hooked up with my Red PB a couple of days ago in St. Aug. (You bested me by 1/4") What an amazing feeling to not only get your PB but have it here forever to share. CONGRATS ! 🎣
@@Reel_Patrol heck yeah man I really appreciate it! Oh that’s awesome I love to hear other people are out there slaying the giants. That’s one thing I love about making these videos too is now I can remember every good fishing trip I go on and it makes it that much more special. And again thanks for the sub I’m trying to get better with every post so nowhere to go but up from here!
That’s a nice one. I just got back into red fishing last summer and my PB in since then is 30.5” but the last few trips I have been skunked 😢. I’m going tomorrow so I hope I can change that. I’m going to slow my retrieve down a LOT and see if that helps. I just subscribed!
I appreciate it man! Dang an over 30” is still a massive goal of mine. That’s great you were able to knock that off the list! Yeah a slow retrieve is the best way to get the fish to bite when the water is still pretty chilly. They don’t wanna work too hard for it😂 I’m going out tomorrow too so hopefully I’ll get me that 30 incher🤣
Nice Red! Bayport can be a tough area, and it takes a lot of work to find the fish since it's so shallow. I haven't been out there yet this winter, but I always enjoy it, but I've never had like a killer day out there.
I have a really hard time reading areas like Crystal River and Ozello, but for some reason I guess I just understand the Bayport area a little more. Especially just north of Pine Island. But yeah ur right it’s craaaazy shallow. It took me an hour and a half just to get to my area because I had to go out the channel so far💀
@FloridaMan_Fishing_YT i kayak and pine island gets wiped out by every hurricane so I've never been able to get up that far north. Ozello is tricky to me because in non winter conditions...everything looks so good haha
@ yeah I’ve completely stopped fishing ozello during the summer😂 I just can’t figure them out. During the summer is when I love to go on fishing trips anyways tho and now with my van I’m going to be doing a lot more travel style content
@@kameronbenvenuto6022 yessir! It’s an awesome area. That spring is actually visible from satellite it’s in one of the bigger creeks north of Pine Island

Bayport is my main fishing place but I haven’t found that spring but I’ve found the fish around where you’re at

My wife has caught 2 over 40” and about 2-3 over 30”. Told her she needs to settle down and catch some keepers
@@JFroMG_YT wow that’s wild. Yeah I’d have the same reaction😂
