You can feel the melancholy in her voice without knowing the words. That is how good the song is. She must be one of the great singers in the world during her time. RIP Miki Matsubara
Miki Matsubara was one of Japan's most beloved artists in the '80s. She loved music, singing and writing songs. Before she died of cervical cancer at the age of 44 in 2004, when her doctor told her that she had 3-4 months to live, she became depressed and burned some of her songs along with her 2 albums that weren't released yet and told her relatives that she had killed her. He didn't want to be a singer. He currently has 10 officially released albums and 16 singles. Had he lived, he would have been 62 years old this year. As the Z generation, I like that we do not forget the old songs and keep the music-loving spirits alive.
She did want to sing, but what she really got depressed at how she didn't spend more time doing things other than singing. She was a perfectionist when it came to singing and she rarely did anything else like go out with family and friends. She did not regret singing, instead she regretted not doing anything other than singing

Miki Matsubara was a Japanese singer, songwriter, and composer who became an iconic figure in the Japanese music scene during the late 1970s and 1980s. Born on November 28, 1959, in Kishiwada, Osaka, Japan, she grew up in a musically inclined family, which nurtured her talent from a young age. Matsubara began her music career in high school, where she was part of a band called "Yamato Gensouki." Her big break came in 1979 with the release of her debut single, "Mayonaka no Door (Stay with Me)." This song, with its catchy melody and emotional lyrics, became an instant hit and is often considered her signature song. The song's popularity extended beyond Japan, finding a resurgence on platforms like TikTok and RUclips decades later, introducing her music to a new generation of listeners worldwide. Throughout the 1980s, Matsubara released several successful albums and singles, including hits like "Neat na Gogo 3 ji," "Wash," and "Cupid." Her style, often categorized as city pop, blended elements of jazz, pop, and R&B, reflecting the cosmopolitan vibes of urban Japan during that era. Matsubara's voice was known for its clarity and emotional depth, making her a beloved figure in the Japanese pop scene. In addition to her singing career, Matsubara was a talented composer and lyricist. She wrote songs for various artists and worked on music for television dramas and commercials. Her ability to craft memorable melodies and poignant lyrics solidified her reputation as a versatile and gifted musician. Despite her success, Matsubara's life was marked by personal challenges. She faced health issues that led her to gradually withdraw from the public eye in the 1990s. Sadly, Miki Matsubara passed away on October 7, 2004, at the age of 44, due to complications from uterine cancer. Miki Matsubara's legacy lives on through her music, which continues to resonate with fans old and new. Her songs, particularly "Mayonaka no Door (Stay with Me)," remain timeless classics, cherished for their beauty and emotional resonance.
She was such a good lady. Her death was a huge shock to all of us. Her voice was so iconic. If she wouldve been alive, she wouldve made multiple good songs. Mayonaka no door is just a masterpiece with her voice. Rip Miki San

80s and 90s Japanese Songs are so gem.
preach
“At midnight I knocked at your door
Cried asking you not to leave me”
This song is unbearable when you could actually understand the language and could relate 😭
You can feel the melancholy in her voice without knowing the words. That is how good the song is. She must be one of the great singers in the world during her time. RIP Miki Matsubara
I don’t understand how a song that I found last year can give me so much nostalgia.. It gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it.. Wow
As the Z generation, I like that we do not forget the old songs and keep the music-loving spirits alive.
she to he?
@@maazjahangir8843I think it was an accident or like auto correct
Who is he?
Who ? What happened to your story. And who is he ? The relative?
She did want to sing, but what she really got depressed at how she didn't spend more time doing things other than singing. She was a perfectionist when it came to singing and she rarely did anything else like go out with family and friends. She did not regret singing, instead she regretted not doing anything other than singing
80s Japanese aesthetic was something hypnotic. I swear they have the power to have you hooked
1:01 love that part
Edit: I’m Surprised the comment didn’t flop lol
Edit again: holy… 71 likes. It flopped, my response to this comment 1 year later is that I still like this song :)
Yes..Remarkable❤
I’m currently studying Japanese language and my sensei told me to practice with this song… I added it to my playlist, I love it ^^

Her voice has so much emotion it hurts to listen to, but it's so beautiful I can't stop.
She died 😢
Really gives me similar vibe to cruel angel's thesis
this sounds like the opening of a 90's anime and i love it
This brings me back to the times in Japan before 2000s, before I was even born and where I have never been. Tokyo city lights, smooth car ride... Ohhhh it's so good
??
stay with me mayonaka no door wo tataki kaeranaide to naita ano kisetsu ga ima me no mae
@@LC-sz1zl It means nostalgia to a place and time that you never were in. You know that feeling? I think there's a Welsh word for it; "Hiraeth"? That feeling of deja vu, but then you realized that never happened to you.
@@lady_raineidv9297 yeah it's weird but idc it make me remember something that didn't even happen and it feels good.
Much love to Japan for creating this musical genius This will forever be an oldie but goodie 💕💕
Hey thanks for leaving a comment, I make music myself and really would appreciate it if you checked out my music. Much love- Josh

😭 I wish she was still here😭😭😭😭
She is well appreciated ❤️❤️😭
Thanks for watching 😊
She was such a good lady. Her death was a huge shock to all of us. Her voice was so iconic. If she wouldve been alive, she wouldve made multiple good songs. Mayonaka no door is just a masterpiece with her voice. Rip Miki San
