  • VSB is a joint venture owned 56% by Vallourec and 44% by Sumitomo Metals which has built a new integrated site in Jeceaba (Minas Gerais state) for producing premium seamless tubes.
    The site features :
    - a pipe mill: production is divided equally between Vallourec and Sumitomo
    - a steel mill: part of the production is intended to supply the pipe mill and the rest will be exported to Vallourec's pipe mills in Europe heat-treating capacity and OCTG pipe threading lines
    Annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes. (Increase Vallourec's total seamless tube production capacity by some 10%)
    First billet pierced at the end of 2010
    First commercial deliveries were made in the fourth quarter of 2011
    Production will continue to ramp-up in 2012
    Target energy markets (Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals), concentrating exclusively on export sales (Middle East, West Africa, North America).
