About the House, Series 11; Episode 6

Five years ago Sales Engineer Michael Pentony and his wife Marie, a French lecturer in Dundalk IT, bought a cottage that, after a century of use, is in desperate need of renovation. With their son Liam having recently been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a condition that causes severe muscle weakness, their home will also need to be made wheelchair friendly. The couple not only wants to make the cottage more accessible but also more energy efficient as it currently costs a fortune to run. Their project has been delayed by council red tape surrounding their planning application, and this has made their lives a lot more difficult, economically and logistically. They have a short amount of time to get a large amount of work done.
