Angsana Velavaru is perched on an expansive private lagoon in the virtually untouched South Nilandhe Atoll in The Maldives, and is only a 40 minute seaplane journey from Velana International Airport. Angsana Velavaru (the island known as “Turtle Island” in the local Dhivehi language) is surrounded by sparkling turquoise waters and ocean views as far as the eye can see. We stay November 2021 in the family over ocean villa. It was amaezing but the other villas, close to the villa-restourant sunrise side have no privacy.
Yes I agree, the privacy is not the best is it! It's hard to see how they can improve it without removing the walkways over the water isn't it?

20 years ago I visited this island every year for 4 years it's was a small unique island and it now looks spoilt, gone from around 65 rooms to 300+. I appreciate the need to upgrade but I would not choose this island now.
Hi Linda, thanks so much for your comment. Unfortunately islands such as this can be easily spoilt by too much development. However, it's great that you still have many options of other resorts in The Maldives to choose from!

@@TobiCarew was there over Christmas BA sold it as a 5star dining experience and it sadly was not even 3 !! The island tried there hardest but sadly didn’t live up the the sales patter ... the over water villas are looking a little tired to !! Been to the Maldives several times and unfortunately this wasn’t up to scratch
I would agree somewhat. The food quality was lacking and the resort it quite dated feeling now.
