HOW TO become a MEMBER of this channel to get access to Instruction Sheets, Extra Videos for Members Only and small templates for mini projects - READ FIRST TILL THE END. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: these are not patterns for clothes and garments, these are instruction sheets. Step-by-step written instruction on how I drafted this or that project, so that you can follow along. The templates are ONLY for the small projects, like a basket, or coaster, or towel wrap and etc. I have also created sewing reference sheets and practice sheets, as well as sketches that you can use and some small scale garment parts that you can use to practice "slash and spread" techniques and dart manipulations. Instruction sheets are focused on the drafting process and less on the sewing sequence as that is shown in the video. Sewing steps can be sometimes written out, and sometimes referenced back to the original video. Additional Members Extra videos go into fabric selection, extra tips and tricks, best practices and some additional ideas from me. I try to prioritize Members comments, especially if there is a question. I try to post EARLY ACCESS videos for Members, meaning those are videos that you can watch earlier than anyone else and without ads :) Every week I post Members ONLY sneak peeks. We also have Members Only FB group for sharing project pictures and inspiration. I am not a teacher and this is not a course or a program.
THERE ARE 3 WAYS YOU CAN JOIN:
1) Click on the JOIN button next to SUBSCRIBE button (if you're Apple use you won't see it)
2) Go to my channel page (click on my channel name) and click JOIN on the banner
3) Link below
WHAT TO DO:
1) new window with Membership trailer will pop-up (IF you DON'T see a pop up, 3 things are going on: you need to update your internet browser, check the pop-up blocker on your web browser and disable it or if you're an Apple user you might not see it as well)
2) this pop-up window will tell you all the perks and price
3) RUclips takes care of the payment. I do not process, nor I can see the payment info or any other specific information regarding that, if you have a question regarding payment processing - please kindly reach out to to RUclips Help Desk.
5) If you watch from Apple (Ipad and etc) - Membership display is limited, meaning you still get all the perks, but you won't see the Membership tab after you join. Read below how to access the perks.
6) Once you have joined - head over to the MEMBERSHIP tab on my channel homepage to get the links to all of your perks! You will need to click on green "click to show perks" and the list will open up. ALSO - head to the Community tab to see latest Members Only Sneak Peek and additional info - Apple users, here you will find Members Extra videos posted. Click on any of the Members Extra videos and go the info box to that video - all Members Perks are listed there. Yay! :)
IF you clicked on the Google DRIVE link and all you see is 4 folders but you can't open them or you open them and they are empty (usually happens to Apple users) then you most likely have to clean your cache or enable some functions on your Ipad. Everything is working, all things are available - I am not tricking you. You just need to google for possible answers and see why google drive isn't displayed correctly on your device, it does not happen to every Ipad, but unfortunately I can't help you more as I am not an Ipad user. I have asked my friend to double check it for me - and Google Drive opens up smooth on her Ipad.
ALL MEMBERS PERKS are also posted underneath EVERY Members Extra video :)

What fabric do you use I make market and they end up floppy.
I love the way you teach! I have been sewing for over 60 years (really!) And I've sewed almost everything you can think of from diaper covers to swim suits, kids' teepees to ladies' business suits. But I still love to be told "this is super easy and if you can do it, I can do it!" I've taught people to sew too and I am bowled over by your ability to explain every step so clearly. I haven't been spending much time on RUclips lately so I am extra glad this video popped up in my feed this morning. And yes, I love your voice.
YES, could you please DO more videos using scraps for beginners Please? Thank You for teaching us about the above projects: all Great!!
Super cute ideas! For the elastic casing on the bandana, a fun technique is to use a safety pin to turn the casing right side out, but also have the elastic attached to the safety pin at the same time. When you turn the tube, the elastic is automatically on the inside. Thanks for the cute project ideas for my students!
Catherine, thank you for sharing your technique - it is well known. I just did not have a safety pin available :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I'm always inspired by your videos and didn't mean to offend. I didn't think the technique of turning the tube and inserting the elastic at the same time was widely known. Apologies if I didn't hit the right tone in my comment.
@@CatherineSews oh no no, not at all! I am so sorry, I did not mean for my comment to offend or seem like I was offended. Dear Catherine, just the opposite - I loved your comment, I just honestly did not have a safety pin handy (another fun fact - I don't have a seam ripper in my sewing room either) and that's why I did what I did in the video. Ah, I am sorry - most of the times the volume of the comment is so large that I answer in short phrases which might come off snappy, but I ensure you - I did not mean it!
@@ThoughtfulCreativity oh, thanks for taking the time for that sweet reply to reassure me. ❤️
One little extra tip: on the little tray made from a square, if you use Velcro or snaps or ties to hold the corners together, you can store it flat when you're not using it. That can be nice for storing them out of season (say if you make them out of holiday fabric) . It's also s nice little thing for travel, to keep your little things together in your hotel or guest room, like the room key, car key, pocket change, earrings, watch, etc. Then if you have used fasteners instead of sewing the corners you can flatten it out again to put in your suitcase.
What a great idea! I'm going to try both.
Yes please more great ideas. Also children patterns easy
Yes, I would love to see more ideas like the ones you’ve shown.
I love the banana idea! I have super long & thick hair. I always protect it by wearing a head band or something over it when I drive or outside. I only wash my hair once a week & live in the country so I try to keep my hair protected as much as I can. This bandana I’m totally making. I’m gonna make a ton of them! 😍💜
It is so cute that you call a pin a pin needle. A needle has an eye, pins don’t. Love your videos, having a great time learning new projects. They are quick and fun. Thank you so much for these
You need your own show on tv! Love you!
Hello Alisa 😊 it was exactly what I needed to see your cheery video today. That mini tote is adorable!! I make drawstring bags for my granddaughters birthday parties she goes to. She fills them up with whatever gift she’s giving. I think all her little friends have one now so this will be my new birthday gift tote for her to fill. She is so proud to bring a handmade reusable bag. She always says no one else brought one. They only had paper bags lol. 😉 It makes my heart happy. Hope you have a great week. 🥰
What a sweet idea!
That sounds like fun!
I have just found you, and boy, am I glad. I love to watch your ideas! Your tutorials are precise and educational. Keep the great content coming! I have sewn for years, but need some fresh new ideas. There is where you come in. 😁
I really love your videos. I grew up with both of my parents working and now that I'm having a child of my own, I want to be able to be there for her. I'm planning my sew in sell shop and hope to start in the fall of next year. Thank you for inspiring me!
Yes please! I love all the scrap ideas. Especially anything to do with hair!
That little basket is SO CUTE! I’m new to sewing and have been trying to find RUclipsrs who make sewing content, but who also make things that are my style, have my sense of humor, teach things in a way I can understand, etc, etc.
I do believe I’ve found myself a creator to binge! ❤
I love you videos. I have learned a lot from you. There are a few sewing folks I watch everything they put out, but I think you are my favorite, because you show a lot of detailed techniques. Your voice is very calming as well. You are upbeat, positive and reassuring.
As an absolute beginner, I am so grateful for your videos!! I still struggled through this simple tutorial but I had so much fun nonetheless :) I made the hair clips cause that seemed like a simple start. So so fun and I hope to do it more to perfect it :)
I have sewn for almost 50 years, but I love quick and easy projects. Thank you so much for the cute ideas. I enjoy watching your videos so very much,
I am admiring how you mix and match your fabrics on your shirts! You have such an eye for pattern and balance.
I know, right? I have a hard time with this sometimes!
You just showed me how to make a wide sweat band (to use under my straw hat while I mow grass). I will use terry cloth to keep sweat out of my eyes. I'll need about six, so that I can change often. Thank you for this much needed item (which is not sold anywhere arond here). I can make it myself.
Yes! More scrap projects!
Wow what a fabulous little basket I have twin grandchildren what a nice little present luv teresa
Wow Alisa, those were amazing, I love the little tote
It's a pleasure listening to you 😊
Yes please. Great gift and grandchildren projects. Thank you
Yes! More simple projects for fabric scraps!!!
Thank you for sharing with us.
Sewing is relaxing and satisfying to create something pretty and useful.
I’m a new viewer from NY. I am so glad I found you. I enjoy sewing but have not done it in 20 years. I love your teaching techniques. I bought a new sewing machine months age and have not used it yet. I can not figure out how to get started.
I just really like you
I haven't sewn in years, but your tutorials kinda make me wish I had the space to. I mostly crochet as my creative outlet these days, but I like your videos even if I never end up following one
Yes I’ll love to see more ideas like these. Have a blessed weekend
Thank you for all your videos! I love them all, but my favorites are these quick projects. Im the type of crafter/sewest that likes quick results. Thank you so much!!
I love your ideas and your videos
Such cute ideas. Love the hair clips best!
I do like your craft. I do recycling, up cycle and create stuffs
I love your videos. There are a few sewing folks I watch a lot, but I think you are my favorite.
you're videos are always so sweet
Those bags are cute! I am not a sewer but I would make those flowers and add my twist of maybe shrinky-dink design for the center. If I have a shirt that has a nice design on it, but it has some wear to it, I don't like to throw them away because I want give them a new life...the box idea is nifty!!!
Miss Heidi, next time I see you - I will give you the blanks for the flower clips! I have more than enough and I will be happy to share :)
Your project ideas and positivity have made my day 🥰
😊
I love these series of videos quick and easy, please keep going I am learning so much.
I wish I was as bright and cheery as you.
I will try the basket and the head scarf. Just lovely !!!!
Love the hair clips. Can't wait to make them for a friend's new baby.
Nice video. I like all items. I love crafting and painting. It is so relaxing .
All of these items are really cute! Thanks for sharing these patterns!
Thanks soooo much for this, I made and adorable headband from this❤❤❤
Yesssss small projects. Love 💕 them
Yes I do want to see more projects! Keep up the great work!
I second this!!!
I love the tutorial for the basket. I made one myself and even though I need to get better at working with bias tape, it looks great. Thank you.
Yes. More like this please.
Always delightful projects!! It is snowing here today (again). Your video is so cheerful and full of quick easy projects. Today, I especially love the little wooden box and the fabric dish. Wonderful holders for those items you are sorting. I think I will expend on the ideas...a larger box and the fabric dish. I am looking at my sewing table (really my dining room table) and realizing the fabric dish would be wonderful to hold the clips and another to coral the loose accessories of my current project.
Always thoughtful and always delightful. Thank you.
I love everything you do and look forward to Fridays !!!
Yes, great ideas. Thanks Jean
I love these ideas!! Thank you!
This bandana is perfect. Since I live beside the ocean it's always a bit windy. So this will help to keep my hair from getting all tangled when I go outside. Thanks for this video! My thought are with you.
Yes ma'am! Same here, it gets windy and this keeps the hair out of my face! Thank you so much for your thoughts, I appreciate that!
@@ThoughtfulCreativity can you provide measurements for the bandana rectangles? Please and thank you 😊
@@JB-le6zm it is all in the video, at 0:55
@@ThoughtfulCreativity thanks... it literally flashes across the screen and then it's gone... I had to play it back several times to get a screenshot👍🏻
The bandana is so cute and will be perfect to put on when I take off my motorcycle helmet and my hair is all flattened down! Thanks for the great ideas!
Love all your creations
Some great projects I look forward to trying. I love your creativity.
Fantastic ideas... thanks so much for sharing 😊
Love those little baskets! So cute!
I love everything you do. Such good ideas Thanks
Yes please. You r very good xxxx
I love to see your ideas 💡
Love, love, love all of these!! I can't wait to try them. I want to make the little flowers for my new great niece 💕
Thank you for these great ideas and for the templates.
My pleasure, Debbie! The flower clips are so fun, my little one loves them! I hope your great niece will love them too. Oh, and if you make colors more subtle/adult like, this could be a great stocking stuffer.
These are sew cute! Lovely work!
Definitely going to make a bag. Thank you.
I love your the way you made your bands. I made mine a little different but I want to make it again.
Beautiful one
Good idea. Thanks.

SWEET
Good tip for making baskets and purses: To iron interfacing and then cut
Love you and your projects! XOXO I'm especially interested in the headband for an upcoming Animal Shelter fundraiser.
Love the scrap fabric projects ☺️
Been enjoying your videos, thank you. I think I missed the measurements of the rectangles for the bandana. We used to wear these all the time when I was a young California girl. Forgot about them. I have very thin hair having hypothyroidism, and I have hot flashes, so hats do not work for me. I will be making quite a few of these so I can change as-needed, daily, and to match my clothes. Remember lighter colors will be cooler too.
Love your ideas ! Thank you for them ., question? What pressure foot do you use please?
Super me encanta 💖😍
I used your flower idea in my video!
Yes! 🥰
Hi Alisa!! Amazing ideas.. I always love & look forward to your many ideas.. I already make a few myself.. Mini tote & fabric dish, I’ve made in lager size for storage in sewing room & I love them….
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
use a safety pin to feed elastic. Hook to end and push through fabric.
I love the bandanna..thank you for ur videos..I love ur energy and the way u get right to it..I wanna make it 😊 I have prolly stitched a handful of items in my whole life and that too on an ancient singer machine (my nana’s) and for any fabric that would have elastic in between them, my needles would break..so I’m wondering if you could let me know the needles I should buy that won’t break when the layers of clothes is a bit thick..if that makes sense!
I love her voice
Kati, thank you, you're so kind!
Love you and your videos! On the headband if I want to not make it so wide it should still work right? 🙏🏻💜
Hi Carolyn, It should, just practice your measurements on a piece of paper first and you will be able to see what is going on :)
Do you have a video making the bandana in smaller sizes for little girls? Tia
Hi, I love all your tutorials. Can you please tell me how/ where you learned to draw? Thank you
