Any chance that instead of just having all these on the release page, you could make them accessible via git directly so that we can pull them when there's an update for us advance/dev users? Sometimes it's easier to just use a git ui client and just hit the pull button on it especially if you have multiple versions of retroarch installed for testing.

I'm a bit late to comment, but every time you upload one of these videos, it brings me so much joy. Your work with the PC Engine RGB was spectacular, but this one really touches my heart because, as I've mentioned before, the SNES was the console of my life. I still remember when I upgraded from my RF cable and small TV to a Samsung CRT and RGB cable; it felt like jumping to a new generation. I've had that same feeling today playing game after game with your new filter. It always amazes me how you achieve that color fidelity and the feeling of playing on a CRT. I can't wait to see your next RGB projects and any other surprises you have in store, but this one makes me the happiest without a doubt.
Early days of emulation were bittersweet for me: I rediscovered the games of my childhood but the high res crt monitors and early flat screens did not do any justice to the graphics of the 8 bit and 16 bit era. Now with great work like yours we are finally rediscovering these games like they were intended.
Amazing work, as always! You're my go-to for image quality when emulating retro hardware. I know you mainly focus on RetroArch, but I was wondering if you might look into ReShade and whip up something for the PS2. I tried the CRT-Royale port with PCSX2, and it works really well, but I’m not great at tweaking presets for an accurate PS2 image. After seeing your Dreamcast video, I think a shader preset for PS2 games would be awesome!
Yes that is exactly what my RGB connected Trinitron looked. Extremely close reproduction while looking on my OLED screen. Good job bro Every memory locks right in and it all feela right as they where, without that something is off feeling haunting you. The only real difference i noticed is the higher contrast and light output of the OLED. And the increased blurriness from the lower motion resolution compared to the CRT. Also the OLED screen is way better calibrated than that old screen ever was. So the colors seem smoother and more even than my old Trinitron.
Will you be doing a similar RGB Shader for the Genesis and other consoles as well? Your shaders are the absolute best man. They've been a game changer for me. It's been a never ending struggle for years to find the perfect shaders where I'm 100% content with them. You've changed the game for me
I think this is the first time I've actually been interested in using a CRT filter. Would love this on my Retrotink somehow, don't really love the ones on that.
im playing Castlevania Revamped and they managed to do an awesome CRT filter, maybe the best i have ever seen, this one here have almost, if not, the same quality
It would be cool if you could adapt your overrides for Mega Bezel, since it's using GDV too. But some differences might not allow for an easy copy-paste setup.
I love the work that you have put into all of these and the content. I tried unsuccessfully to install the 4K HDR shaders to use with my LG OLED.I know the subpixel structure is a bit different to other TV's/Monitors. The issue that I keep running into is that once I enable HDR in Retroarch the image gets very dark and has a very Reddish Brown tinge. Thoughts? Normal Shaders tend to look okay however. I was just hoping that with the HDR I could get some of that afterglow action going :)
Rgb snes is fuhkin awesome. Ive heard that these crt filters are coming along quite well. I still dont think you can replicate the look of a crt, and I've been told im crazy, but ive also never experienced it first hand. Ive barely ever use retroarch cuz i have all my original stuff so theres not much meed for me to
Hey man, thank you so much, I love your and Cyberlab's work. Do you use any video filter in addition to your shaders ? If yes which one ? Blargg_NTSC_SNES_RGB ?
Hello! I like you work a lot. Very curious about crts. Ive not had one in a long time now so been using shaders like these. How close does this preset get to your tv? In terms of brightness, contrast, colors ect. What gets lost in translation?
This is crunchy goodness. I'm away from my Steam Deck at the moment, does it include a 720p version? The 1080p versions usually work pretty well, so no big deal if not.
These look amazing in pretty unique ways. Just a question about scanlines: I can't avoid banding on the Steam Deck screen. Shaders like GTU and Zfast seem to avoid banding to the point it's almost invisible so I know it's possible without integer scaling. Since your shader has about a billion options and I would't know where to start, are there any specific settings I should try? I tried the PS1 and SNES shaders.
For steam deck you'll definitely need to enable integer scaling for sure. There's no way around that. this preset has a lot going on that requires integer scaling to be enabled
@@RetroCrisis You're right! When I watch the video in a window, I see vertical bands, but when I watch it full screen, I don't. It looks terrible even in 4k in a window, but looks great fullscreen.
Is there anyway to port these shaders to retro scaling devices like the OSSC, Retrotink 4k/5x? These would work wonders and definitely bring some authenticity to people who play on flat screens :)
@@RetroCrisis Yup, and since all CRT shaders are based off of the basic SDTV's and PVM's, nothing looks anywhere near close to right. It's also just so hard to match the high sharpness but retain the composite pixel blending.

ok i managed to get it fullscreen by turning integer scaling off. turned it on before cause saw suggestion to do that in some of the comments on this channel
Just a note, super metroid doesn't appear full screen even on my PC. Even on a super Nintendo on an actual CRT it won't be fullscreen. There are borders at the top and bottom of the game. Be careful, crt shaders can look distorted when integer scaling is switched off. But feel free to test it and see how your experience is. I'd love to know how you get on
@@RetroCrisis well after your comment i`ve decided to play with integer scaling on, just pulled a screen a bit closer. although i didn`t see any distortions while it was off, but picture seems a bit more vibrant when it`s on and "crt squares" are smaller which i guess is closer to the natural look.
On Android the shader folder is hidden in the root folder where you can't access it unless your phone is rooted. You'll have to manually create a shader folder within the RetroArch folder on your SD card and then go into RetroArch settings and redirect your shaders folder to the new one you created.
