I just put the hinge in a vice...heat the area up with a bit of heat and it comes right out....the fun part is when is sheard off and you have to drill out a hardened pin....fun

Can this be done with the door still on, but supported? I'm working alone and don't have assistance.

I think it would be very difficult to do with the door on the car. You could try removing one hinge at a time with the door closed and the fender off. Outline where the hinges are mounted before you remove them.
