Few years ago, Microsoft convinced the whole developer community to switch to vscode which now is the #1 code editor for web developers. Now Microsoft is twisting the world to its will in order to come back to its browser & search engine after more than a decade of losing the second browser world war. That's quite impressive.
10:27 Microsoft Edge might be a web browser that you might now actually want. I remember I switched from Chrome to Edge Chromium because I finally could use all the extensions. I never looked back since. Then Vertical Tabs made the experience even better and now the Bing sidebar is the cherry on top.

It's so much better than Chrome, uses less memory, sleeping tabs if you want them. You can use all Chrome's extensions if you can't find Microsoft ones. There is ZERO reason to stay with Chrome.

@@murphydaveelte I tried both on Bing AI and on chatgpt but even the first one answer me with useless suggestions and old links. Everything is fine except Edge and it get way worst when I'm with the Bing open.
Not only AI, Edge has the cutting edge features for a modern browser. I use features like drop that helps me to transfer files. Its pdf reader is also great, particularly if you work with a tablet. Its annotation tools certainly help a lot. The AI, helps you to summarize article so you can have a glance on the content during your research.
Firefox is still my daily browser for security. Edge telemetry is a bit excessive, and complicated to strip out. But I will say, Edge in terms of features is really leading the pack by a huge margin at the moment. I abandoned chrome years ago (around the same time their own developers seemed to, lol). There's been no real innovation there for a decade. The early releases were great, but once they got the marketshare locked down, they just gave up on any quality of life improvements. It was the same mistake Microsoft made with Internet Explorer, they got complacent in their success and were caught with their pants down when a competitor finally challenged them. Edge would be an absolute homerun if it incorporated more security and privacy settings. But for anyone who is less concerned about that, it's the best browser out there at the moment. Firefox or Brave for the privacy-minded, but edge could be a real competitor if they made privacy a focal point of future updates.
Used Edge ever since I had my own laptop around 5-6 years ago. At that time, I just wanted to lessen too many installed programs, so I used Edge instead of downloading Chrome or Firefox. Got a lot of comments about it, but I sticked with it. Now it has an 'Edge' among its competition, and it feels good to see mah boi rise to the top.

@@solaawodiya7360 The AI answer was wrong repeated times and kept on saying I am sorry I was wrong. I asked how come it was wrong so many times on things that were so easy to check with a simple search. It got pissed and terminated the conversation.
Some of the creative features are nice to have, but in terms of research I find it is almost always wrong or very much incomplete. Most of the time when I'm doing any kind of research I have to go do a manual search anyway because the answers are so far off from being accurate (many times it just tells me it can't find any information for what I'm looking for.) Then if I have to do a manual search I always switch over to a Google search as Bing is horrible for searching as it's filtering options are unusable usually putting old out of date results at the front of its responses.
Edge Chorimum or Edge was already better than Chrome, I used botha and Firefox but Edge is faster and more feature rich while sacrificing nothing. Now with AI tool integrated, I am glad I switched to it a long time ago. I welcome others to join the club.

F.e. as coincidence have it, my mom needed to write an email to quit her job and she had a hard time writing it to her former employer with whom she always had a good relationship. I wanted to see if I can live without Google and started with replacing my browser from Chrome to Edge. Apart from some loading issues, I am happy overall. It feels snappier and quicker.
I noticed those "loading issues" too. Reminds me of the days of dial-up, but I now have all my tabs from Chrome transferred, and I'm logged in to everything. I'm having issues with getting the discover panel to see the web pages I'm on. I have it switched on in settings, but it still isn't contextual. Early days.

howzit kevin . i hope this not taken the wrong way but after watching your video i was really excited by it and even went and installed edge again . unfortunately the discover thing worked very poorly and long story short i contacted ms support and the next bit of text you will read is his response on the support chat he Discover feature on edge is actually a feature to find documents that are interesting to you by looking at what users you collaborate with are doing. If users close to you have not been collaborating on documents recently, there will be nothing to show, and the Discover feature will not be displayed. like i say i do like you channel and i like the way you explain things so i really hope you dont view this as some kind of discrediting ploy or something .im curious as to what you think of this response .Thanks a milliion , keep up the good shows

There are a few AIs to try out at the moment. It’s interesting feeding the same questions and comparing their answers. You have Bing Chat, as here, ChatGPT, Perplexity, YouChat and Andisearch. The latter is a bit different. Not really a Chat but complementary.
Go Microsoft. First Googles main income is user data. Microsoft might not be the most private browser but it’s got much better privacy than Google Chrome and has amazing powerful features. Also as a software developer the AI which is actually ChatGPT4 ( Microsoft paid for some of the research with OpenAI about 10 billion dollars. It’s making and vertical tabs are amazing while I have many many tabs open so useful. Also based on chromium so like I mentioned your stent missing any features but instead getting more modern features. I love Edge after using Google Chrome. Worried about how much Chrome is spyware. At least for a browser, I like a little more privacy as Microsoft’s main income isn’t user data unlike Google. ❤

I was using Microsoft browser to download chrome. Last week I bought a laptop. I went to edge and I didn't believe how good is. Reading like e reader, ai and my loving thing the side bar. Omg I ditched chrome asap

I can keep the chrome browser tabs open all day long and still my system would be stable days later. If I do the same thing on EDGE, my system starts to stutter and gets sluggish by end of the day. Tried this on two different machines AMD and Intel-based. They need to figure this out else I'm still hesitant to join the EDGE bandwagon no matter how many features they tout.

The read aloud feature and realistic voices are the best I’ve found too. Helps for long articles to read aloud.

To enable web content summary feature on edge goto settings of edge > Sidebar > app specific setting > Discover > Page Context > Turn ON

I recently switched to Microsoft Edge. And could not be happier. It is must faster and also have the Chat AI bulit in.
If edge is so good and why edge market share is decreasing to 10.61% today. Just stick with google chrome and forget crappy edge.

Edge is a piece of garbage browser. Everyone despise edge because is to bloated and crappy, and it’s designed to fail. Not only that, it forcing everyone to use it against user’s will. Crappy edge and Bing won’t stand a chance against google chrome superiority. Just stick with google chrome. Think twice before using crappy edge.
howzit kevin . i hope this not taken the wrong way but after watching your video i was really excited by it and even went and installed edge again . unfortunately the discover thing worked very poorly and long story short i contacted ms support and the next bit of text you will read is his response on the support chat
he Discover feature on edge is actually a feature to find documents that are interesting to you by looking at what users you collaborate with are doing. If users close to you have not been collaborating on documents recently, there will be nothing to show, and the Discover feature will not be displayed.

Edge market share is decreasing to 11.01. Edge began to fail miserably. Crappy edge market share is in third place. Not so useful browser huh!
Wow this is so really great stuff, excellent video! I do use chrome and I hate it! Always crashes, I swear it slows down my laptop and always looking for some stupid extension!! I’m deleting it tomorrow and running with edge! Can’t wait to try some of these features

Chrome does have an AI app going in oit that can work inside of Windows Word, and Open Office as well as Gmail. I am using it in my system.
If you've not used Microsoft before, what are you doing!? It's the most secure browser there is, and why wouldn't you want to use it? I mean, there's so much more to Microsoft, like customization, and a better browsing experience. Microsoft is a tier 100 browser.

There are a few AIs to try out at the moment. It’s interesting feeding the same questions and comparing their answers. You have Bing Chat, as here, ChatGPT, Perplexity, YouChat and Andisearch. The latter is a bit different. Not really a Chat but complementary.

Go Microsoft. First Googles main income is user data. Microsoft might not be the most private browser but it’s got much better privacy than Google Chrome and has amazing powerful features. Also as a software developer the AI which is actually ChatGPT4 ( Microsoft paid for some of the research with OpenAI about 10 billion dollars. It’s making and vertical tabs are amazing while I have many many tabs open so useful. Also based on chromium so like I mentioned your stent missing any features but instead getting more modern features. I love Edge after using Google Chrome. Worried about how much Chrome is spyware. At least for a browser, I like a little more privacy as Microsoft’s main income isn’t user data unlike Google. ❤

I was using Microsoft browser to download chrome. Last week I bought a laptop. I went to edge and I didn't believe how good is. Reading like e reader, ai and my loving thing the side bar. Omg I ditched chrome asap

Bing is a piece of garbage just like crappy edge. Google chrome and Bard AI are superior.
I can keep the chrome browser tabs open all day long and still my system would be stable days later. If I do the same thing on EDGE, my system starts to stutter and gets sluggish by end of the day. Tried this on two different machines AMD and Intel-based. They need to figure this out else I'm still hesitant to join the EDGE bandwagon no matter how many features they tout.
