    The Sickleflow, venerable, mono color LED options, acceptable airflow, noise, and lifespan, and most importantly of all for it, dirt cheap, literally the cheapest PC fans a Canadian can get a hold of.

    Before i tore my rig apart i was running 4 of these and 1 XIGMATEK Crystal Series CLF-F1253. I love the coolermasters and they are not crazy bright but do give off a very nice glow. The XIGMATEK is a little quieter, a lot brighter, but does not push as much air. I would be happy to buy both again when i need a new fan.

    I've just bought 2 of these fans from Maplin for £7.50!
    Nice and quiet and look decent. I've got em blowing inwards cos I already have top and rear exhaust fans :)

    Thank You, I felt like I was the only one with this Problem. I also bought three of these .2 Reds and a Blue.

    These fans are 2000 rpm so you will hear it. If you don't have a modern motherboard with GUI bios and fan headers on the MB you will hear it. I don't know how people are getting dust inside them, but I suggest getting some filters if your house is that dirty to start with! I like them overall they push/pull enough air to recycle the case air every 1.2 mins with just 2 in mid tower case. I have 6 120's and 1 200mm in my case. Well over enough air flow to keep it cool.

  • @MN12BIRD
    @MN12BIRD 12 лет назад

    I had 3 of these in my case but they where too loud for my liking. They aren't too bad for 2k RPM and 70CFM but I'm not overclocking and only running a single GPU so I don't need crazy fans. I wanted something quieter so I sold them. But they aren't bad I've heard louder and I like the way the tinted plastic gives the LEDs a more diluted look. Even though they where a little loud for me they aren't that loud and I still recommend these to most.

  • @MN12BIRD
    @MN12BIRD 12 лет назад

    They are perfectly acceptable. I was just picky and wanted to stick with something quieter. I'm sure at ~1000 RPM they'll be just fine.

  • @corgiology
    @corgiology 11 лет назад

    They are rated at 19 dBA which would mean you could barely hear them however they are more like 30 dBA way too loud, i had to get a 3 pin fan speed controller on ebay to turn them down. They do really help with airflow though so i turn it back up to help with cooling when things get hot.

    @SApcGUY this fans noise level will never go over the db your gpu or cpu collers are making. so it's all the same. noise won't ''stack'' so it doesn't matter because gpu cooler is often much more louder than these

    I bought two of these (same fan, non led version) and they are quiet! I don't know if people got bad ones or not, but these are quiet and flow good amounts of air

      +Fel Beat I built an AMD Rig. It's in a ThermalTake Versa H22 case, FX-8530 CPU, Cooler Master Hyper T4 CPU Cooler, 16gb Kingston Hyper X RAM, 1TB HDD, and a R7-360 gpu to get started. Will upgrade GPU to the next GPU that AMD puts out. I have these two cooler master fans in the front of the case plugging in via molex to 3pin, and one 120mm exhaust fan.

    . . . what's the answer to that?. . .
    if it doesnt blow the right way, turn it around for your sought effect.
    And it blows the same amound of air either way.
    (P.S. it blows inwards from the LED side, if you didnt notice)

    Hey do you need a power drill to install this fan? The sickleflow fans I bought weren't threaded so I'm guessing I just need to drill the screws into the fan myself

  • @dansos123
    @dansos123 12 лет назад

    I've never mounted a fan in the case before, I bought this one to try out. It comes with 4 screws, but the holes in the fan are smooth inside, there's no way to screw in the screws. Do I need to buy something additional, because I don't think I should force those screws in.
    I might just buy some rubber fan pins instead.

  • @MrElAmpi
    @MrElAmpi 11 лет назад

    When I tried to install them onto my case for a new build, I realized that the fan's screw holes were not threaded and wayyyy to small for the included screws. I'm just wondering what's the best way to install these. Find smaller screws? Try and force the screws in? Use an electronics screwdriver/drill and drill the screws in? Is there a chance of breaking the plastic screw holes on the fans?

    @SApcGUY I will use 4 as intake on my HaF 932 side, and two as outtake in the top.
    This will hopefully be worth the 600 swedish kr it cost ( this include the fan controller) . That in USD is aprox 90 usd including shipment.

    I bought the Cooler Master Sickle Flow ARGB 120mm Fan. But idk if it has a 4 pin header or a 3 pin one because i have a Gigabyte A320M-S2H Motherboard and it has two 4 pin slots so if tit has a 3 pin header it would be very unfortunate.

    • @phillipvelednitskiy6881

      This is because case fans don't come pre-threaded. This is the case with any fan you fill buy. Just try to screw in a screw without putting it in the case first and then after you thread it, install it in your case.

This sucks and now I find myself asking friends for used fans they dont want anymore.

    @SApcGUY Here's the problem, my budget is really small, and I want LED ;)
    I want preferably red LED. But if I had the cash I would buy them and then some lighting inside the case instead. But pricedifference is 60 sek ( 8-9 USD ) for sickleflow and 250 sek ( 30-35 USD ) for noctua fans. Noctua is a very good brand but not worth the difference in price. And with 4 of them.. the price would go skyhigh in my budget :D
    Thank you for the tip though.

      Gilbert Flowerface I'm a fan of Noctua fans. They push a lot of air and run pretty quietly.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 9 лет назад

      David Burgess - They're pretty expensive though.. although there's the Redux ones for cheaper.. but they're not that much cheaper since I'm in Australia and all our shit is much more dear.. I'm looking for a static fan for the frontt of my PC since I think that might be adding to the noise since I have a bunch of hard drive stuff at the front of my computer and the airflow fans might not like that and make it louder.. nott entirely sure.

      3 & 4-pin both speed control available
      3-pin by Voltage
      4-pin by PWM (a.k.a. Frequency input)
      4-pin fan can be control both Voltage and PWM, but some 4-pin mobo not available in voltage control. your 3-pin fan will run full speed.

    I'll never understand how so many ppl complain about how loud case fans are yet cannot hear me with the afore mentioned sensitive ears as I sprint toward them in battlefield to toss a throwing knife into the back of their head , or their squadmates head prior to then serving them in battlefield.
    I run 9 120mm fans and 2 140m fans. Typically at 100%.. I cannot hear any of them with my headphones on , ocassionally the GPU fans on my card will break thru n I'll hear them kinda. With my head phones off if I am not gaming , I can obviously hear my GPU fans at 75 or higher otherwise bleh.
    Why would you sit closer than 30-40 inches from the system anyway ? At some point I just wonder how many folks really are hearing fans when Ya just run into so many deaf people in video games perhaps they just have pisspoor head phones due to spending too much cash on "noise optimized" fans lol.
