This sounded so warm like the sun bathing your soul. It always amazes me how Bach could do so much with so little. He reserved his best scores for what he loved and adored the most which was God. He must be teaching in some higher realm now where perhaps Angels go to be entertained.
Wow, so masterfully done - I would never have thought of Widerstehe doch der Sünde being performed as a jazz piece, but Bach’s original aria works wonderfully in this superlative jazz arrangement, performed so magnificently by these phenomenally talented players.❤❤❤
you probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
Sensational! BRAVO! May I crosspost? I do not monetise my Channel, and will give full credit to your Channel, including links to it. It's fine if not. I greatly enjoyed this wonderful, wonderful performance and interpretation by highly talented musicians. Bach would have approved, I'm certain of it!
1:37 The otherwise excellent guitarist omitted the additional F note at an octave lower at the end of that sequence. It is a striking effect in the original score, but still, I guess that's nit-picking.
No. I mean no disrespect however, there is a time and a place and this is neither the time or the place. The most beautiful cantata ever written, cheapened to this. There are something’s best left alone.
I disagree. It's a valid, if unauthentic, interpretation of a great Bach work. Walter Carlos' "realisations" brought me to Bach back in the 1970's, and I'm grateful for that. Same goes for Jacques Loussier and the Swingle Singers.
Excellent ! Bach composed this one with an extra strong groove, lending itself to jazz. Then the talented Martin Scales adds his swing to it.

Sehr schön gespielt.
Cool 🧚
That opening dissonant chord! Sin, one imagines.

@Gage Jerome instablaster :)
No it's standing against sin, the suspension
This opening dissonant chord is fairly classical, a dominant chord over a tonic bass. Yes, it could be the tension between temptation and virtue.
muito bom, bravo .....
great

Thanks a lot AntPDC for your comments and taste for the music. If you feel like you can crosspost on your channel.
@@hrbigband Much obliged, thank you!
Yes I am certain Bach, the greatest of improvisers, would approve 😀

I don't think it's nit-picking. I noticed it, too, and it does create a beautiful effect in the original aria.
It was far too quiet. Should've been louder
It’s there, just very quiet
Cool
Nice, be compliment!
Bach meets Charlie Brown.
OMG!
Please see and listen Nicolas Godin Widerstehe doch der Sunde, very gotic-cool jazz
Nice but too fast
Comment peut-on oser ridiculiser une telle musique sacrée ?!

Should we breath when you decide it's the right time?
@@musael22 agree. Just don't listen to it if you think it was "wrong" to re-interpret a song you like in its original form.
Not my cup of tea
Ridicolous and blasphemic!

Covering something is not blasphemy at all.
@@l3p3 Play a funeral march on a guitar then or your anthem on a triangle.
No.
I think Bach had fun to hear this….always stay open-minded….
Merci d'avoir écrit la vérité.
C'est totalement ridicule et rabaissant. Quelle honte, d'avoir touché à cette musique sacrée.
