I adore this content! Thank you for sharing with us - I am a novice barefoot trimmer and watch you all the time.
I’m constantly changing the balance and then have to take more off to rebalance it. Always learning!

Thank you! The big secret is all of us are always learning and at different levels of novice. As long as you keep that mind set I believe you will do really good work!

Thanks Kristin, really awesome video. Super informative commentary. What do you think of heel slippering that Daisy does?

Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really like Daisy slippering method and use it on some of the horses I work on.

I was wondering if you have ever thought of putting that hoof paint stuff on after trimming?

Thank you for watching and for your comment! The horses natural layer of periople protects their hoof wall. So if I don’t dress the hoof wall I don’t add anything to the outer wall that could interfere with the horses natural protection.

I like how you try to teach your audience about hoof care. But.... Rule of thumb is the size of limb he can beat his wife with. This is true. So, 'a good rule to follow'is a better alternative. Men say rule of thumb because the wife isn't allow to hit a man.
