@@AnymorAnime I would disagree with that as destiny wasn't really involved in 5cm per second. The movie was about moving on and how clinging to the past can affect you.
This was my first ever movie that I decided to go to the cinema to watch for once. That was also the first time I hangout with my friends outside of school so Tenki no Ko is a very special movie for me. Coincidentally, orchestra is also my favorite type of music to listen to (behind Electro Swing and J-Pop). Listen to this really bring me back to that day.
Me too! It's my 3rd time to watch an anime movie and first time with my friends. It was a light rainy day when we watched Tenki no Ko, when we went out of the cinema it wasn't raining.
I liked a lot of the ideas here: the tempo changes, reharmonization, and outro were all effective, I think. But the constant muddiness was a bit monotonous for me and at odds with the tone of the song. The entire movie builds up to the chorus of this song where it is both literally bright outside because of Hina's sacrifice, but also figuratively finally clear after Hodaka's confession of love and his desire to bring her back. That clean-ness, or 潔さ in the original song, was something I missed in this rendition. Having a contrast between the muddier reverb sections and a crisp climax would have, in my opinion, elevated this arrangement to another level.
_"I just want to see her, one last time!"_ Thank you, Rush. Thank you so much for this. Weathering with You was actually the very first anime that I watched on cinema, and your orchestrations just made me love it even more.

“I don’t care if we can’t see sunshine! I want you more than any blue sky!” “Let the weather go crazy, I want you more than any blue sky!” -Hodaka The best movie in the world, weathering with you This is truly the best animated movie of all time. Everything about the movie is perfect, the score, animation, everything. Thank you makoto shinkai for giving us this masterpiece to enjoy.
I haven't watched this, but I got the general sense of what it's about. Anyways. I stared up at the sky. The clouds drifted aimlessly above, stitched onto a quilt of vibrant, constant, indescribably calming blue. I can't breathe. The serenity overwhelms me. I can't fight it, but I'm not even sure if I want it to stop anymore... I feel... at peace, like everything is going to be ok. Like I'm ok. I remember where I am and walk at the crossing. At work, huddled inside a glass tower grasping for the heavens, I work on a story. It's a story about a band of heroes that save the world. After an hour, or more realistically like five minutes, I can't help myself. I go up to the roof, under the guise of needing some air. Upon the roof, everything is small. I see cars passing on streets stretching miles below. I look up again and see the sky, there, and waiting for me. I smile contentedly. It's just one of those days. Everything is ok. I'm ok... It's ok.

Weathering with you is the most emotionally charged movie I've seen in a long time, the soundtrack more so, the orchestration here even more than that. Well done, I've cried every time I listen to this.
As soon as the song starts I closed my eyes and let my imagination run wild. Throughout the entire song all the memories of the movie popped in my head and when it all ended tears just came out like a river. Thank you for sharing as always Rush!!!
What I love most about this (along with all of your orchestrations) is the fact that you've created your own art piece; like you've created the soundtrack for a feeling or a moment that only exists in our heads. It's only colored with memories of the movie scene, so it doesn't evoke the same feeling: it's something new. But it's just as wonderful.
So, funny story, after discovering Rush's Kimi no Na wa cover 'Do I know you', I ended up watching the movie. I loved every second of it and I have watched it seven times since (And I've only seen it two weeks ago!) I think this is a sign that I'm going to be watching this movie, too.
