Probably one of your best ever bits of footage. I so enjoyed that. All that was missing was a great white Shark. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the vacation.
Your enthusiasm is matched only by my desire to pack the SUV with my drones and start the arduous 3,000 mile drive to that location! Just awesome. Thanks for sharing with us.
@@IdahoQuadcopter You were just north from my neck of the woods, near Crescent City Ca. I fly up around Port Orford Ore all the time but the cliffs are no where near that high! Still the Ore coast is beautiful!
Beautiful costal videos. I also have a mini 4 and I am so impressed with it even on windy days. I have owned many DJI drones and the mini 4 is the most impressive. Keep up the beautiful scenery videos. Joe from Az.
Amazing 😍 and fantastic 👍💯🏞️😁. Hi Marcus my friend. This is a absolutely 💯 beautiful place. And the DJI mini 4 pro is the perfect choice for this exciting video. Hope you all had a wonderful day and feeling great. Thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful video and God bless you all everyday 🙏. Have a great weekend my friend Marcus. Looking forward to the Fall season. Got some really cool temperatures coming in a couple of days here.
I'm not sure I stopped at this location, but if I didn't, I should have. Nice flight and awesome footage, that was a great location. Thanks for sharing Marcus.
I found that, in addition to the great scenery, flying from from coastal cliffs removes so many impediments. No houses to bother with noise nor fly overs/flybys, way less obstacles and generally way less interference. Most times people don't even know the drone is there, much less try to read you the riot act for being anywhere near an establishment or neighborhood. If I'm at the coastline and someone sees the controller, they generally just get curious in a friendly way. I think my choice to fly in those areas was influenced by your Snake River runs.
That PCH is something else. A few years ago I traveled south from San Francisco and stopped several times with 20 miles admiring the beautiful views. I do believe the views you showed were much more spectacular though.
Marcus, I am giving you a new name! LOL! You are the Jacques Cousteau of Drones buddy because you add adventure to your videos and I really appreciate that! You narration adds to the adventure for sure! You also had great settings on that drone for your video which shows how impressive the Mini 4 Pro is. I got a little nervous when you had to head into the wind coming back but the drone did well. Thanks again Jacques!!!
This video encapsulates everything I love about drones. Previously inaccessible spectacular views are now within the reach of everyone. Very impressed by your smooth manual moves too. What a stunning location. Superb work. Thank you.
Stunningly beautiful perspectives on a beautiful coastline. 🤩 That was a great flight. Thanks for showing, Marcus. ☺️ Best regards from Berlin, Germany
Hi Marcus, what a beautiful place to fly, thank you for sharing. The DJI Mini 4 Pro has become my favorite drone. My only desire is to have a battery for it that lets me fly for over one hour without changing batteries.
Great video! So if you went just a little further north with the Mini 4 you would have been able to see Devil's Cauldron Treasure Cove and Smugglers Cove which has become the most popular place to surf in Oregon.
Welcome to the Oregon coast. I live about 40 mile south of this location. I missed the video when posted - I've been in western Ireland with my Air3. BTW - this launch site used to be erroneously listed as part of the Oregon Islands Wilderness (FWS) area and technically off limits to drones. It was owing to a mapping error by the USFWS that was picked up by airspace mapping data eventually used by AirControl. The prohibited zone is supposed to be focused on the off shore rocky islets, not the cliffside along US 101. This got fixed over the past couple of years after some conversation with USFWS.
Great video and amazing scenery 😊. Can you do a video explaining ATTI mode, GPS and GNSS signals etc and advise on how to prevent a flyaway , that type of thing?
This is the only time that I’ve had a DJI drone go into ATTI mode. ATTI mode is the drone going into altitude hold. It happens when the drone loses GPS. 👍
Wow! You have some serious nads. I was thinking I would never try flying here. I guess confidence comes with experience. Awesome video. What is the remote mike you are wearing on your shirt? As always, enjoyed the video.
@@IdahoQuadcopter Oooh! I do love me some tech! Probably the reason I like DJI drones so much. I know you didn't get rid of your beloved 'Vette! So did you add to your fleet, or get rid of the Tahoe? Either way, I'm glad you're pleased.
Hey I love your videos and thanks for all the work. I do have a question on the Dji mini drones. I live in France and I have a DJI mini 4k drone, I will be visiting the US in a couple of weeks and I am really confused about the RID situation there. The DJI Fly app tells me that I need to comply with RID while other websites say no need for RID for the sub 250 drones and I will only be flying recreationally only.
Interesting, if I were in a similar situation but the other way around.. I mean, I'm in the US and would be planning to visit France, I guess that I'll have to worry about more things if I wanted to fly in France than you may worry about flying here in the US; I've heard that in France it's way more complicated to fly drones than in the US! There's a lot more restrictions, and in fact I even heard from somebody who visited France, that they were told if they flew a drone in Paris for example, nothing will happen for the moment, they won't have a problem while flying there; but the problem will be when they return back to the US and turn on the drone, somehow they will be detected that they flew in Paris and they'll be getting a big fine!! I don't know if that's true or how could that be technically possible, I don't think there's a way that the drone app will report you to some authority somewhere in the world and they will know who you are to find you and issue you a big fine?? I mean, if I flew some generic -250g mini drone without RID and with a controller app that doesn't need any user login information, like an Autel Nano that you can fly kind of anonymous as their app doesn't need any information about you and nothing to identify you.. how in the world would someone know you flew a drone in Paris or wherever and then find you here in the US and give you the fine?? Something sounds off with such a story! Maybe the person in France told such thing to those US tourists there to scare them from flying a drone there? If I ever plan to visit France in the future, I'll be more scared to fly there than to worry about RID here in the US! Hopefully things are not that scary about flying drones in France than how they sound??
Exactly where I am headed next week with brand new mini 4 k pro!! Watching your PNW series for tips!! Want to be as compliant/hassle free as possible. Can you help with Oregon Wilderness UAV operating restrictions. Some say entire coast is designated Wilderness and so off limits. Not how I'm reading it and Air Aware identifies "Islands" Wilderness areas as off limits / distance restrictions along with wildlife safety distances. But thru research so far seeing some LAANC approval areas, but mostly wide open along ALOT of coast. How did you ensure your compliance as you understand it?? Thanks for all your insights and have really appreciated fimi x8 and mini reviews as they have been my " budget learners" and now ready to soar even higher with Mini 4k pro!! The dronie away and down is my new favorite cliff takeoff move!!!
My understanding is that as long as you're not harassing wildlife or otherwise being a nuisance with your drone, you're good. They often quote the two rock rule. Also remember only the FAA controls the airspace.
I guess all NPS (BLM?) areas are off limits, and state, county, city parks are "always ask"? My understanding is FAA controls air but many places are given state authority (Oregon) to restrict UAV operations. Many that are not included in B4UFLY databases (although they always tout all those being added) Wild and wooly Idaho may be loosely goosey with restrictions, or restricted operation areas (not airspace restrictions per FAA) just not in database?? OK not meaning to sound paranoid, just want to be right when I tell some whiner I AM allowed to fly there once I take off!! Im 6'4" 260 lbs and am more than capable to "stand my ground" but like to know I am on the "right" ground and air before i plant my feet. 😊 Thanks again for all your efforts and insights!
Wow, how did you avoid getting arrested without obtaining a permit with insurance? I live in Portland and have visited the coast many many times and it’s strictly forbidden to fly a drone over the coastal area along Oregon. Even more so if it’s DJI now that Feds have banned them completely. I know the exact spot and have really wanted to fly my DJI there, but sadly I could only do pictures/video from my Sony camera not my drone.
Remember only the FAA controls the airspace. Local authorities can tell you where you can and cannot take off, and you cannot harass wildlife etc. Thank you for watching.
@@IdahoQuadcopter I did inquire with local parks and called a few regarding their drone policy and they were very explicit about requiring a permit for any activity. It only take one passer-by to report your activity to the local police or ranger and next thing you know, $100,000 fine.
