Ranger Scott, I hope you’re enjoying retirement. You did an amazing job in this video. As a fellow reenactor, I’m sure you are having a blast manning your cannon. Thank you for your service to the history of this great nation
Thank you for your service. Been to Gettysburg I am a retired soldier so I know what it means to leave a battlefield for the last time. May the rest of your life be blessed as you have blessed others.
Scott Adrian is (was) a real treat. His knowledge and presentation skills are (were) exemplary. I just finished watching his final presentation on Little Round Top is superb. As a native from Maine I am exceedingly proud of Joshua Chamberlain and Ranger Adrian was very respectful of Chamberlain's participation in the battle. I suspect he will be missed.
These Rangers are so empassioned. They almost bring back the nightmarish scenes that had occured so many years ago. These men are our lifesavers in preserving history so easily that could have otherwise been lost. Thank you Park Rangers.
00:00 A loyal Ranger announces that this is his last program and he will officially be retired upon it’s completion. 26:45 One of many interesting observations. Modern infantry would be placed on the back side of this hill and ordinance would be called in to hit the attackers approaching the hill. 37:05 The two Union regiments that experienced the most KIA during the war. 1:09:30 Who was the hero of Little Round Top? 1:10:55 A good Ranger retires. Well done.
I've watched dozens of these Ranger presentations and don't think I've ever seen a better one. Ranger Scott Adrian, an amazing American who educated thousands about Gettysburg in a clear and compelling manner. Hope he's still shooting Parrot guns back in Wolverine Land.
Man, I can't wait to go here. Sad times that I won't be able to see Ranger Adrian, but there are a bunch that I love watching here. Thanks sir for this!
These videos are excellent ! Thanks for the work to create them. They get better the 5th or 6th time I view them. Hope the ranger enjoys retirement but he will still be working on RUclips for posterity.
it is 3:30 in the morning I started watching this approximately 2 a.m. I could not get enough I thoroughly enjoyed this. incredibly informative it is a lot different hearing it from him been reading it in a book. I live in Texas. I've looked at all the maps I've never been there. seeing the train that soldiers fought over that must have been as close to the basement of hell which you can get to in July of 1863.
The "basement of hell". Now we know where all confederates ended up. Stonewall, Lee, Davis, Beauregard, Hood, Stuart, and the whole confederate slave holding, slavery defending zoo. Thanks for the information.
thank you so much for these videos i grew up watching civl war movies and when i watch these videos on gettysburg i am learning things i never knew and i never picked up on
I thought that you were going to have a good cry at the end. You did a very convincing, forceful, informative job. Thankyou for posting for us all to enjoy.
Nice to see the film given its rightful place of being a great advert for the battle but misleading in its historical accuracy. This point needs reinforcing. It was not all about Chamberlain, he just lived longer than most afterwards and was the best writer/publicist. Which is not to denigrate him but to raise others such as Warren, Vincent and O'Rourke to their rightful pace alongside him. Culps Hill under Greene is arguably more important to the union line.
Right. I just wanted to say that a movie can only focus on 4 to 5 story lines before losing its audience. 1993 Gettysburg followed Buford, Longstreet, Lee, and Chamberlain primarily.
Good video and well produced. Ranger describes the fishhook. It is my opinion the Sickles’ movement to the peach orchard formed the sharp barb that stuck in Lee’s craw.
The Alabama Col, Oats would find his Brother`s grave, many years later before his death,he regretted leaving his brother on the battlefield after being shot over seven times dying on the rock,,, the park Ranger pointed out....! A Sad Story.
+Mishawaka Post Yes he did, serve as ,have visited his house which is just across the street from the school.Very cool to see his saddle and boots, one of which has a bullet hole from when he was injured at Little Round Top...
He also taught every subject at Bowdoin except chemistry and math, and was twice governor of Maine. All this with that horrible injury he suffered at Petersburg.
While it's not practical for a number of reasons, I really wish there was mandatory Civil War education in our school systems. Kids need to know about the war, and it seems like most of them just know that it happened - that's about it.
I have a question for any of the Rangers who may know about this....was there ever any accounts of any confederate groups being able to breech the Union line at any location on Little Round Top and was there any hand to hand combat that was documented to have happened.... prior to Chamberlains bayonette charge....
Gen. Meade was a close friend and ally of Gen. McClellan (D). Sickles, although a Democrat, is a close friend and ally of Pres and Mrs Lincoln (R). He helps raise money and troops for Lincoln. Yeah, they, Meade and Sickles, hated each all right.

Did not expect to watch this whole thing.

It was nice to hear Mr. Adrian's. Opinion of Sickles vs Mr. Teague's opinion of the same man.
Great presentation. Have fun in your next adventure.
.
A job well done, Sir.

Joshua Chamberlain also served as president of Bowdoin College in Maine.

he has quite a few person biases
Sickles was dead right
and Behalf of Everyone at San Diego Power Morphicon 2022 ( 1993 ) Gettysburg National Military Park and our Friends at the Gettysburg Foundation
excellent
Good Morning Folks
and now Scoot Adrian
did he say his wife's cousin was the guy Sickle's murdered? That means he's married to a direct descendant of Francis Scott Key?
I'd love to run a metal detector around the tree trunks..
The 20th Maine did not have any USCT troops at Gettysburg

May your retirement be longer than your career! :)
HURRAH!
Lol
Very sad! The guide should have retired at least one year earlier.
