No one is ever going to question your commitment to sampling! 😁 I am really impressed by your organization and I am curious to know how you organize your thoughts on your samples. Do you keep a spreadsheet with all of your thoughts about each fragrance / an inventory of what you’ve sampled, etc? Also, because you have so many different types of samples, I’d be interested in watching a video about samples in general. Which companies you’d recommend buying samples from?? Advantages and disadvantages to different sample sizes, formats, etc. Here to learn from you! 👍🏼
Thank you Heidi!! 😊🥰 I’ve always kept a book of my thoughts on all of the samples I tested, and then I eventually transcribed all of my notes to my iPhone notes so now I can go and search for the name of a sample to find it instantly, or search a word that I want to find as a common thread.. like “smoky” or “soapy” so I can find what I’m looking for! That’s a great video idea, thank you! I’ll have to keep that one in mind 😃 I do have a few sample sniff videos and I talk a bit about the sites I purchased from.. thanks for watching! 🙏🏼
😮😮😮😮 Girl, you hwve me speechless. This is dedication to organization on another level. I'm impressed. 😊 Are your services for hire???? We need you in every house around the world!
Thank you Claire!! 🙏🏼💕 I do try.. although I have to admit I kept some samples that were empty because I can still smell them when I take off the cap- next time around I’ll let those go too! 😅🙈
I thought I had a lot of samples 😅 now I can be at peace! Thank you so much for inviting us into your home and sharing great tips! I store my samples in shoe boxes, but I need to upgrade soon, so they can look aesthetically pleasing ❤❤
Hahah!! 🙈😆 I think I may have too many but I do love testing them all! Thanks so much for watching!! 🙏💛 It is taking me a while to get used to the new organization system, I feel like I could find everything easier when they were all in random boxes 😅🤣
I use pressed fabric sock organizers (for inside drawers) to organize my carded samples. The sides keep the cards from flaring open. The ones i use are 6x4 = 24 compartments
Also just a note that I reinforced the shape & sturdiness by slipping cardboard under the walls of the sections on top of the bottom fabric. This helps me carry them around as needed.
@@tammyroxanne. You're very welcome! 😁 Also I should add that instead of the spine showing, I have them placed upright like on a bookshelf. They fit perfectly that way unless it's an oddly large carded sample.
I need to go lie down. Oh. My. Word. Das a LOTTA samples!!! And to commit to moving them all so you can house them alphabetically? That's some next level stuff, Tammy! I cordially invite you to my home in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, to do this for me. I will pay you in food, wine (if you like), company and, of course, PERFUME!
Oh my goodness would that ever be fun!!! 🍷🤩 It is daunting to get started but ya gotta just dive right in! 😆 Thanks for spending your lunchtime with me, I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you!! 💛
Tammy!! I thought I was to the extreme with my collection of samples but you just made me feel normal! LOL! I really struggle with decision fatigue around what to wear and when, do you have any suggestions on this? I make a "tray" for the month of like 100 samples, decants and bottles but still feel like I'm abandoning all the others haha. I need an organized system for wearing in addition to storing!
Good I’m glad you could relate girl!! Oh my gosh it does get so overwhelming sometimes!! I usually spray my perfume of the day all over, and once I get the feel of it for an hour or two, I’ll test and compare some samples on the back of my hand (depending on what videos I’ve watched lately that have sparked ideas of what to try). Sometimes it just flows easily and other times it’s a struggle to figure out what to wear!! 😩😂
Ok flabbergasted over here. Thought I had a lot of samples. But no, I guess I don’t. And my organization system, if you can call it that, is random and chaotic. I don’t know if I have the discipline you have. Wow - call me super-impressed! 😳😮
🙈😆 It’s not that you don’t have a lot, it’s that I have way too many!! 😅😂 and the funny thing is, ever since I did this reorganization, I find it harder to find my samples! Even when it was messier I kind of just knew where everything was 🤷🏻♀️😂 Lol Thank you so much for watching! 🙏✨
Now I think several times before ordering a sample because I know it will get lost in the “jungle” of samples. No “library” here 😅 If you ever visit Switzerland, I’ll wait for you with the best chocolate and cheese. My samples would be happy to be anywhere close to your organizing skills ❤️🤗
Thank you so much! 😊 Well it took quite a long time! 😅 I gave a few details in the description box about where I purchase my samples, and also some were free samples from stores, and sometimes a brand will give “gifts with purchase”. It did take a few years though! 😁 Thanks for watching!
Unless they’re exposed to very high heat or excessive humidity, they usually last for many years! ☺️ It takes a chemical reaction to alter a chemical compound. So far mine have all stayed the same 🫶🏼💕 Sometimes if the seal isn’t good on a sample it can slowly evaporate over time and you’re left with a concentrated oily liquid, but I can still use the smell for reference and comparisons! 😄
Yes! I had quite a few of my older samples completely evaporate… Still I kept some of those evaporated ones, because I can still smell the scent clearly when I take off the cap, and I want to remember what they smell like! But I did throw a few of them away! 😊
@@mizzmiami3242 Yes, probably 2 or 3 years old, and I’m not sure if they were great quality bottles. I do have other samples that have lasted a very long time! 😁

Where did you get the containers for your perfume samples to stand in?
Just on Amazon 😊 Try searching for ‘acrylic “makeup compact” organizers’!
How long are perfumes good for, don't they lose their potency?
