I read some of your comments to those want to be Bible scholars. This is my mother you are speaking of. She is no witch. Judge not lest you be judged. What is the difference between reverance for you relative while they are alive then when they pass. Some say after a love one passes they can still feel that love ones presence does that make them a witch or involved in witchcraft. Some just take it to another level. By the way ancestral worship has been going on for uears and still do. Ask the people who goes to their family's gravesite and place flowers balloons and other things will they stop. I love reading comments. I am an Oya priestess that goes to church. I believe there is one God. However, there are other deities that play a part in the spirit realm. Words of wisdom: a man wrote the Bible which was revised numerous times. So just because it's not in the book you believe doesn't make it wrong. This lady here is now my ancestor and I will continue to give light, water, and flowers.
I have set a special place for my ancestors in a room in my apt. I go there and set flowers and lite candles for them to shine light upon them and pray and remember them in this life, although they are no longer on this physical plane,they must be remembered and never forgotten. Its no different then going to a family members burial site with flowers and prayers of remembrance for the father and grandmother,etc. In gods name I pray they are at peace,alongside God in heaven and at peace and rest. I know my prayers are heard by them and they deliver my thoughts,worry and struggles to one god,the father almighty and this brings me peace and a calm in my life. They are lifted to the light and surround me with there knowledge and love,there insight. Rest in peace ancestors I will see you soon.

Gravesites is where their physical body may be buried, but spirits are free from the body now, they can visit me here! 😜 💗

I am Christian, however I listen to all people from all walks of life talking. each person can be a teacher, coming to me for a reason, trying to teach me something. Damaris starr, can you help me understand how my ancestor altar candle, lights itself with dead batteries, every morning? A year ago, I started an altar for my ancestors and the results were positive. After searching for my lost brother for 7 years I asked my ancestors to help me locate him and within 3 days I found him.
Recently, I've noticed that the battery operated candle with dead batteries turn on every morning around 8:30am. It's a simple twist on/off candle from Walmart(NO timer).
I do remember complaining out loud, that I was forgetting to turn off the candle at night when I went to bed, and did not want to waste my batteries during the night when I was sleeping. Did they hear me? Mmmh?
Do ancestors visit for the length of time that the candle is lit, or do they just light the candle and leave, then come back to turn it off?

If you have no real desire to look up last names in your family and use those in your prayers etc. i would work at truly honoring your natural gifts that come from your blood family. Sometimes honoring our ancestors can simply be practicing good character and leveling up with you and being the best person you can be. SHE is speaking about the traditional practice of ancestors worship. Sorry but a neighbor who raised you and then died is not an ancestor. That is a person who you have an emotional connection to, not direct bloodline: Therefore that person can be considered your spirit guide, but not an ancestor.

If someone is adopted and their adoptive parent dies, NO ONE can tell them that their adoptive parents are NOT their ancestors! We need to STOP making things so bleeding complicated and religious!
