I just watched this back to back with another video of Laura performing this song before she was out, and idk if this is just me, but the entire feel of the song is so different. This version is so triumphant and celebratory, while the other was almost like she was mourning something she probably thought she would never have, she even seemed to be holding back tears by the second verse in the first version. Just seeing her being able to sing that verse with a smile makes me so happy.
When she sings the verse about wishing to have been born a woman, and the crowd goes nuts... It just melts my heart. Merry fucking Christmas, everybody.

People need to understand that Laura is going through a huge transition in her life, and she is finally happy to say to the world, 'yup, I was born with the wrong gender, and this is now how I want to live my life, like it or not' Punk rock IS about ACCEPTING everyone and anyone. That is part of the reason punk rock was created. Anyone shit talking Laura for her decision is scum. She is proud of who she is, and I am glad that there is another role-model for trans-people out there now.

I can definitely relate to you! My mom came out as a lesbian a few years ago. For years she wasn't happy because her life was basically a lie and she wasn't being true to herself. Now that she's living her life and she's happy and that makes me happy =)
Laura's physical characteristics don't mean anything; what really matters is how she thinks of herself. If she wants to live her life as a woman despite being born with male genitalia then there is no reason she shouldn't. If you can't accept her for who she is psychologically and who she wants to be then that's fine, because Laura has obviously been a great inspiration to many other people. Telling the world about her gender dysphoria shows true bravery, and it's wonderful that she was able to.
What you should be hating on about this band is how they say they are anarchist and have songs about anarchy but yet are signed to major labels and i bet living very comfortably

Sure, maybe there are some views on this video from people who aren't fans, but I bet a handful of those views are from people struggling with the same stuff tom was all his life. Gender and Sexuality are not one and the same. It is time Western society came to grips with this.
