They're mostly the same vacuum, but it's a shame some parts on the 6585 were a bit of a downgrade from the 6596. At least the 6585 is still 12 amp, so that's a good thing.
I miss the old Bissell vacuums come back in the day cuz a lot of this temp that they're making now it feels like cheating and flimsy almost like a toy and they don't last very long like they used to back in the day such as the models that you have now I wish they still made those those were very very good machines I don't know why they're so discontinued a lot of those machines they had cuz those are very nice machines same thing with Hoover Hoover made great quality vacuum cleaners back-in-the-day now same thing with Bissell they're cheap flimsy to light and the motor seems like it's going to die out on you I wish they would go back a little bit and I wish they would make more bagged upright vacuums cuz I'm not really a bagless fan
Tbh I like the sound of your 6596 motor, I hope to find either or vacuum one of these days
