Clear cases will scratch the jet black very easily. I'm using the Apple Silicone case, because it has the microfiber inside which helps keep dust particles from getting inside the case and marking it up with abrasions. I would recommend you get Nano state coating on your jet black iPhone.
I take my iPhone 7 jet black out of the case daily to clean any dust that gets in the case, I use a apple silicone case with a soft interior that is really good for this Particular phone color
I bought the jet black, never used a case. And it is as clean as it will be. Just always make sure it is the only thing in your pocket. Definitely get the jet black. The scratching is overhyped
+Eddie Lee yes, I do believe this could also be a possibility for some of the marks. The video does make it look allot worse then it actually is, you can't really see any marks unless your close up in good lighting. I think the case is definitely marking up the antenna band, and little bits of dust get under and cause the other marks. Could try cleaning out the case each day but that's just too tedious for me. I'm going to try a new case and the liquid protector. Hopefully that solves the issue. Thanks for the comment
Anyone thinking that a clear case is going to scratch the back of the jet black phone is mistaken. I do agree that if you get some cheap case from amazon for a few bucks that that could scratch the phone, but as long as you get a quality case from a trusted company and take the time out to clean your phone and case out from the dust and lint and make sure you're not putting the phone anywhere with dirt or particles you should be fine. I've been using the spigen crystal shell with my jet black phone and still only have a few hairline scratches that were there when I got the phone
itsbkinthemix if you're taking time to clean out lint/dust/anything it's already too late. Had it for two hours, hairline scratches appeared and I was immensely careful
People have to be careless to make their phones look like that. I have a JB7+ and it is gorgeous! No scratches. I don't treat it any different than any other phone. I just don't slam it around and put it in the same pocket as keys or anything. Same thing I've done with every phone I've ever owned. This scratch stuff is blown way out of proportion. I hope Apple always has a JB option.
Andrei Amodia it's 100% not like the 3G lol the 3G was a polyurethane plastic, this is metal. Think of the jetblack as like a paint that's super buffed. I suggest you go see one in real life because it's soo not what your expecting.

true
Rodney Noel Does the charging port area get scratched easily in jet black when you use it with a case?
I'm always careful when I have to charge my phone. I recently purchased the Gold 7 plus because it's so much easier to maintain.

good thing i bought the matte black
Abhayjot Singh Chawla I have the Jet black and plan on getting perhaps the Matte or gold version.
did yours scratch?
Abhayjot Singh Chawla very faint abrasions not sure how it happens because my phone stays in the Apple Silicone case unless it's on my bed.
oh thats bad
my normal black iphone fairs well no scratches yet
The case is the problem. The jet black will scratch, but these look like they came from the case.

Is it possible that the case could've caused marks by rubbing against the back of the phone?

Ceadd's Apple World I ordered a slick wrap so waiting for that to come in to see if it will be a good solution for a clear backed jet black phone :)
Ceadd's Apple World looking forward to seeing your liquid protector video

apple 3g had the same finishing and it did the same thing. scratch easy and dusts just sticks on it forever
