How do you fix it when it is nearly impossible to pump the handle? It draws water into the cylinder but almost nothing exits the output tube, and the push downward is brutally hard. I have unscrewed both ends, everything looks clean and fine. The two silver balls move freely as they should so I believe it is drawing in water. The internal pressure build-up is insanely high and it is preventing any water (aside from a tiny spurt of water and air followed by a tiny trickle of water until pushing the handle down is impossible.
You just need to clean the filter with the scrubby pad. Once the filter can pass the feeler gauge supplied(after 50 000 litres) its time to get a new filter(years of solo use water quality dependant)
