Even though this failure was probably caused by improper Cutlass installation it would be nice to know the hours of use before failure considering the expense involved.
That's the result of bad managment and lack of supervision during the assembly of critical components . Moreover some compônents were not checked for QC before assembly. That's bad.
Yeah, my thoughts as well, someone stuffed up, with 7000 hours on the clock those cutlass bearings should have been in very good shape. My guess is cheap material and misalingement along the supply and deliver chain. I know of at least three other Nordhavn of similar sizes to this having issues re delivery voyage issues that would raise eyebrows as the problems were not minor.

How many Hours were on the Shaft? Also curious on Cost of replacement, if not too sensitive?
I don't think your heart could take the cost. Lol

What year is the yacht? How many hours were on the engine? Had the shafts been pulled before?
Yacht is 8 years old. Engine hours around 7,000 hours.
Were those shafts made from Maraging 300 steel?
Sorry I don’t have details about the shafts.
thats the bad thing whit water lubed shaft systems..
I would have rather just read subtitles and have no narrator than this, but appreciate the informative video
Sorry i will do more better each vid i will produce, thanks for the input’s appreciated.
unacceptable quality control from a company that prides itself on quality...shame on you Northaven. I hope they ate the cost of this repair.
Nordhavn not to blame, this incident occurred when the vessel was 6 yrs od and 5,000hrs, after replacement of cutlass bearings.
Narration is terrible. Couldn't watch.
Sorry can’t speak English well, would be more terrible if we narrated with our local language.😂
@@Jo-yachtgineer your English is good
Great video but terrible narration. Robotic and computer generated.
