    Did you every watch the Gear Skeptic channel? If not check him out. He has an extensive breakdown of calories to weight for backpacking food. I eat a keto diet so I am all about the fat. On the trial I do eat some carbs because it’s just easier. I still eat way more fats than carbs and my energy level is very high. You are correct you do need to have some variety to keep things interesting. I can’t eat like super hiker Jupiter who eats the same dinner every day on trail. We all roll differently. Take care
