    I’m glad you put out hummingbird feeders and bird feeders for a variety of lovely birds. They are such a joy to watch. I also plant a few flowers that attract visitors. It’s so cool to watch the various visitors that stop by. The birds love playing in the bird bath too.

    Hi Jenny! I found your channel via the bubbler video. We love attracting birds to our yard, too. We have various feeders which cater to specific birds, such as a caged mealworm feeder which attracts blue birds. I enjoy spending time watching the birds eating, hunting, drinking, and bathing as well as hearing their lovely birdsongs.

    I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding being a part of the ecosystem and not to harm the life that enters our gardens. I, too, LOVE birds!! We get so many songbirds, and it is lovely to hear them sing! So important to keep birdfeeders clean!
    May I say, I absolutely love your hair the way you're wearing it now! Just lights up your face! Beautiful!

    Hi, Jenny! I love your opening shot. It looks like you’re vacationing at some resort! Your outfit is perfect resort wear, in my opinion, and the garden with umbrella and seating behind you is so inviting! Why don’t the birds help me with garden pests? I’m sure it’s because there’s no water in there. Great video!

    I haven't attracted very many birds 🐦 to my yard especially since I have no trees right now, still searching for the right varieties. But I do enjoy watching them at my neighbor's feeder.
    I have tons of busy bumblebees on my newest additions to my garden.
    I love sitting among the flowers and watch them cover my agastache, nepeta, coneflowers and sedum. They are oblivious to me. 🐝
    Jenny, I really like your natural hair color. Back in July, I told my hairdresser I want to go natural so maybe by spring the hair color will be cut off. My hairstyle is a bit longer than yours. And despite being at least ten years older the gray just hasn't been cooperating so mine looks dishwater drab. I've wanted shimmering gray hair since my twenties.

    Good afternoon. I have a fond memory at my parents farm where there would be up to 25 humming birds at their 2 feeders at any given time and it was amazing watching the males trying to claim the feeders as their own however that never worked. They just could not get along. It also meant that the females could feed as long as they could. Enjoyed this video and have a wonderful afternoon.

    Following your channel from Nairobi, Kenya inspires, though not exactly related to America, trees, flowers, and birds because humans are home-esthetic wherever they are. We only build birds' houses by planting a good tree they'd like, but generally let them build theirs. We don't feed them but they have a way to live, sharing our water and some like the millet and sorghum we use for our porridge and pounded foods. If a visitor comes around our house, there is a bird that flies to our doorsteps and sometimes can even enter the living room. We, as a family, can now even recognize the song it may make if there is a guest. Nothing is more amazing than watching birds, which are more inviting than their songs; they become our morning songs as we increase plants, and if keen, our messagers.

    Thank you Jenny. We get A LOT of birds in the spring especially when our mulberry tree produces its fruit. We also get swallows that make nests in our barn every year. I’m trying to plant more bird friendly plants, elderberries, serviceberries, coneflowers ect. I also have a cherry bush they seem to enjoy. We have cardinals very spring, also orioles and their so much fun to watch out of our patio door. I also have two small Water features but I don’t see them visit them much, they may be too deep. I’m going to be trying to dig a small in ground bird bath for them maybe yet this fall. Although the birds do enjoy the water puddles we have in our driveway when and if we get rain which hasn’t happened very much this summer.😞🌺💚🙃

    I am so pleased you stressed the importance of keeping feeders and bird houses clean. I read that lice in a bird house from a previous summer can actually kill a baby bird. My bird bath attracts many kinds of birds, especially during the spring and fall migration seasons. I occasionally use 'Microbe-Lift' Bird and Statuary Cleaner to help keep it clean. I've feeding the birds since in a day or two swarms of blackbirds and starlings take over and leave nothing for the songbirds. Tried but can't get rid of them. I'm going to try an in ground pool that you mentioned since I do see tiny frogs about. Excellent video!

    • @mildredkrisik8888
      @mildredkrisik8888 10 месяцев назад

      Clarification: I've stopped feeding the birds because of starlings and blackbirds eating all the seeds.

    The only time I see two hummingbird males at a time is when a juvenile male comes with mom or dad in the middle of the summer. I also have two feeders one in the front and one in the back of the house and it doesn’t help in attracting more.

    I’m one of your bubbler subscribers! We had a Douglas Squirrel visit our garden for several weeks earlier this summer. We always have a couple Eastern Gray Squirrels, but it was very exciting to see this PNW native for the first time!

      We live in the PNW, too. Love having the native Douglas squirrels in our yard. The Eastern Gray squirrels, not so much. They like to eat Black Oil sunflower seeds. They climb our Douglas Fir trees, some are 100 ft tall, and they knock out the pine cones. Always fun to watch!

    I have a hummingbird feeder which has been very busy lately. Unfortunately I live in the mountains and I can’t have regular bird feeders because of the bear in the area. I do have a bird bath with a solar fountain but I’ve never seen any birds on it. I clean it regularly, but still no birds.

    You look great; so summery and fresh! Just a friendly word of warning about the suction cup bird feeders. I tried them years ago and it was a terrible thing because the birds kept flying into the window and hurting, even killing, themselves. After the second death I threw it away. I hope this doesn’t happen to you.

    • @Gigi-fv9ky
      @Gigi-fv9ky 10 месяцев назад

      P.s. I can no longer feed the birds because it drew rats and mice into my garage, even into my car! 😭 But I do keep several bird baths and water sources for them and anything else that needs a drink. Even those deer get a drink whenever they need it, and I love watching the birds take a bath.

    When I put out shelled peanuts, the Blue Jays will hide them for winter until they are gone. I don't feed sugar water to hummingbirds as sugar is not even healthy for humans.

    • @TheGiddyGardener
      @TheGiddyGardener 10 месяцев назад +2

      Hummingbirds need sugar - they get it from nectar and the sugar water is the best thing that copied nectar- they need sugar for energy.
