The Brewery Artist Colony in Los Angeles is a 16-acre campus that sits on twenty-one former industrial buildings and includes the original #3 Edison steam power plant dating back to 1904. Another remarkable on-site structure is the old Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewing Company in 1957. Prior to that, The Los Angeles Brewing Company (aka East Side Brew) stood in the same footprint, as the leading beer producer for Los Angeles since 1897.
Since 1982 to modern day, among the remnants of this booming industrial era lives a community of artists and art production of all forms-ranging from hand-forging artisans to composers of expression and dance. The Brewery has maintained complete artist occupancy since 1979 and continues to support a thriving coral reef of authentic artists.
