      I have the SLX 4-14 HUD DMR version. Very nice scope. In process of switching to GLX 3-18 with Mil reticle. Almost got the HUD DMR again but wanted to try (and learn) mil. The GLX glass is noticeably clearer once u start shooting past 200 yards. I couldn’t find any pros/cons between 4-16 vs 3-18. Perhaps someone with more scope knowledge will elaborate one day. I see the 4-16 has a larger objective lens but a smaller tube diameter. I don’t know what that changes.

    I agree that the Rgrid 2b reticle would benefit from posts at 3, 6, 9. Same with the original raptor reticle.
    I really like the pa mildot in the 4-16 glx. The reticle, mag range, features, and footprint are a fantastic compromise. I hope they bring the mildot back for the 3-18glx which seems to be replacing the 4-16glx. Which is too bad because I wanted another one.

    I just picked one up with the hud DMR reticle for cheap. They don’t really have the best manual as far as explaining the features of the optic. They include Allen wrenches but don’t what they do on the turrets. Also a grid up the back of the elevation turret labeled 1 through what I’m assuming is 4 but they don’t mention anything about it at all. It seems to be a solid optic with good glass for the price though. I’ve got it in a larue mount that cost as much as the scope 😂 great video

    I wish PA would expand their PLxC line into higher magnification like 2.5-10x or 4-16x.

    Awesome video. I would love to see the pa 4-14x44 slx vs this new 4-16x44 slx. I have the 4-14 and just bought the 4-16. However, there are actually a couple feature I prefer on the 4-14. If the glass is as good as you say they it's probably worth the upgrade.

      im also looking at the slx 4-14, i can't seem to find a better FFP scope in the $200 range. The next step up seems to be at the $350+ range but if this scope offers a huge leap over everything else in the $200 price range then I would rather go with that.

    • @cole8557
      @cole8557 4 месяца назад

      @@jmarini4139 I ended up sticking with my 4-14 and returned the 4-16. The 4-16 has nicer finish, better turrets, and seemed to have better light transmission at the magnification. I returned because the brightness knob stuck out much further than on the 4-14. Didn't seem enough to upgrade but if deciding between the two Id probably go with the 4-16.

    I had one for a bit. Sold it and got a strike eagle. Had some issues with glass quality and the reticle. Glass quality was sub par for what I was doing and at distance it became hard to spot my impacts. If I wanted to dial elevation there are no close wind holds to the center of the reticle. The new slx 3-18 looks pretty good.

      agree 100%, the brand new Gen 2 SLX 3-18 is fantastic for 499$.... I compared the glass quality with my viper PST gen 2 3-15 ( Philippine glass) and its VERY close , splitting hairs in sharpness, contrast and tone.. the new 3-18 pairs up perfect with the Athena BPR MIL reticle. They have them in stock at PA now .

    A request.
    What would be a good way to test erector stability? I'm envisioning a good reliable laser sight/LAM bolted to a plate with a pic rail for mounting scopes. Align laser and optic, and give scope a bonk with a rubber mallet. See if the scope and laser unzero or unalign with some light bonking. I'm thinking I might make a bonker to keep my evals and tests consistent. Just a spring loaded weight smacking into a plastic or rubber bumper held against the scope or scope ring to jostle everything in a controlled way.
    Thoughts? I like saying bonk.

    I just purchased the 4x14 version of this scope and got it in the mail yesterday. As I was handling it, I noticed when I tapped lightly on the front I can hear a light “rattling” sound. It sounds like a spring? Rattling. Everything is intact and the scope is awesome. Wondering if anyone can explain this to me. It’s coming from the front part of the main tube. In front of the turrets Thanks everyone.

    for a long time I was thursting for the 4-14-44 , Id still rather have the glx, its a dawn dusk situation, where having some illuminations is good, if the daylight I dont think you really need it but to have something in daylight is good/
