I want too say, Thank You Carey Holzman! It was because of you, that I decided last year I would build myself a PC instead of purchasing a pre-built. This video was my reference life saver!!! Seriously, I hope you realize how appreciative that I am! I started purchasing the parts last spring. Just a couple weeks ago I finished purchasing what I wanted/needed. Now I have an excellent i5 7600k, ASUS TUF Z270 Mark 2, 2x8gb Vengeance LPX 3200mhz RAM, with a hyper 212 evo CPU cooler PC. Once again, Thank You!!!
man I'm loving these build videos...I'm watching all 50+ of them! you're the only tech guy on youtube who shows every aspect of the build and goes into complete detail leaving nothing out. also love the tips/advice you give along the way! thank you for making these build videos Carey!
I haven't built a PC since the 90s but your sense of humor just got me interested in a new build for my next home server instead of buying a branded PC with generic parts. Thank you for the inspiration!
The best part about your videos are your vocabulary, I've watched far too many builds where the person outing the pieces together can't articulate why you do certain things
Thanks for doing the Kaby Lake Build - Director's Cut, it is all in one place. You do an excellent job, very informative, we are very fortunate to have this as a reference. Keep up the Great work.
Finished my build and it fired right up. This video was an immense help. The 200R is a great case, too. And, yes, I already want to start another one, even though I haven't installed an OS on it yet.
Good, I mean! I am a PC builder (right back from IDE days!) and this is the best build video I have seen! Excellent stuff. And I do believe you did not say 'You guys' once! A lovely change
My dad was a lot like that, except we were all starry-eyed when his company upgraded from punch-cards to reel-to-reel tape (and the "My Wang Works Wonders" t-shirts were all the rage with our schoolmates)
Love watching you build with full explanation and never veering from your set rules. This way we all benefit from your years of experience so we can have a successful build experience for ourselves Thanks Carey It hard to watch you live over here in Australia. Still catching up on some older streams Little Aussie follower
I built something VERY similar to this system. Same case, same mobo and cooler. After watching this video I thought I would have the most trouble installing the 212 Evo. For those watching this now, Coolermaster has since improved the 212 Evo making it SO MUCH EASIER to install. The backplate now comes with the scew-like pieces which you put through the holes in the mother board and all you have to do is screw in the mounting screws. Makes it a lot easier to position the back plate correctly this way. Also that fidgety scissor-like bracket that you originally had to hold inside the heat sink which gave Carey a tad bit of annoyance is gone too. Now they have 4 pieces of separate metal (2 for AMD, 2 for Intel chip-sets) which are easily screwed into the side of the heat sink, beside the part that contacts the CPU, holding them in place. This means you no longer have to struggle holding the bracket in place like in this video and it has become a very simple matter of this placing it on the mounts and screwing it into place. I must say kudos to Coolermaster in these small touches which made installing this fan a breeze. I honestly thought I was going to struggle. Id also like to give you massive thanks Carey. My laptop had been dying after serving me for 7 years and your videos motivated me and gave me the confidence to build my own after seeing just how simple and straight forward it is. Wish you the best in life mate.
Carey, I like how happy and relaxed you seem in this vid. You should probably wear that shirt more often. I think it looks "smart" as they say in UK. Then again, I pretty much love any of your build vids that involve the following: "We don't need it, Get rid of it... (Toss!!)" Lol!
thank you for sharing with us, one and half hours, how to install and build a computer. appreciate your kind consideration to give us this precious knowledge, thus enabling us to install computers ourselves, could make money out of it hihi.. well definitely you had made abundance income installing thousand computers, so no harm sharing such knowledge with us out here. you are really really awesome bro...
Love that SHIRT!!! Did Eli Hyman give you the shirt off his back??? Lol, if you're ever in Charleston, SC, go check out Hyman's Seafood, downtown, and you'll see what I mean (it's rare that he doesn't walk the dining room & greet all the guests)
I like this shirt. Here in India. we call this shirt model as 'Jibba'. Elders used to wear only plain colours without any design for respectable look. You look the same, Mr. Carey Holzman.
It's August 14, 2018 and I just priced out all the parts on Amazon and the total comes to $1,582.23 ---- $326.41 more than the price in this video description.
i can imagen for the power supply that you want to pack as so that it sit and stay there most important is the box i would pack it same in shipping if it slide or box come lose what i can t think of that nice luxury black bag.i don t know and would t what to use for other than perhaps put eh if you have old phone and no more a box in it.i don t know i agree they should that leave out question i got if motherboard or the case give you plastic nylon zip as a extra with it wy not give it put it in the first place around the cabels ? good night go to bed.i enjoy it thank you
Carey Maybe someday they will either send you the power supply box with a Crown Royal in the bag or maybe they will flavor the silica gel packets with Crown Royal (LOL)
if it was me and I had to remove screws to get the side panels off I would put the screws back into the case after you remove the panels that way they don't get lost or forget where you put them when you put the panels back on again
The Noctua coolers are sooooo much easier to install when compared to the 212evo. But the 212 evo is cheap and powerful so a lot of people choose that. Notcua is a lot more quieter and the mounting system is easier on most of them. Good video. I started watching your series a while back and subscribed. Been building PCs for over 20 years myself but I like watching your work, and comments, and rants about excessive bags and boxes :)
I like how he throws useless stuff on the floor like case instructions, bitches about getting through 6 bags(some costly) to get to the power supply, and test-tastes silicon because it says "NO."
I like the shirt...Cary works in a true shirt sleeve environment, is his own boss so dresses as he see fit. The real question is why there are so many comments on the shirt. It's not a fashion channel. He could just wear a plain blk "T" all the time. But that would be boring and Cary's not boring! I'm adj for inflation that's my nickles worth up from 2 cents...

P.S. I was able to successfully build my first PC because of you and your videos!

I just built my first PC. I went from having 0 knowledge to building it with ease by watching some of these videos. Thanks!
Your shirt and the fact that you do build videos in the kitchen are absolutely a hilarious combination.
This is the best shirt I have ever seen. Can't beat purple in any occasion.
Finished my build and it fired right up. This video was an immense help. The 200R is a great case, too. And, yes, I already want to start another one, even though I haven't installed an OS on it yet.

And he hardly ever says 'and uh', like some others do, and he doesn't use a script.
Nice to see Jon Lovitz building a computer. A++
I wish I had a dad like you.
Yes... me too...
My dad was a lot like that, except we were all starry-eyed when his company upgraded from punch-cards to reel-to-reel tape (and the "My Wang Works Wonders" t-shirts were all the rage with our schoolmates)
Easy to watch, well spoken, concise, clear and knowledgeable...Refreshing. Thanks

Your presentation continues to get better Carey. I enjoyed watching this video!
Thanks carey - this video was invaluable to me for my first build. Booted up first try - no issues at all.
Love the shirt man.

I'm in love with this build
Corsair sells just about every little replacement part for their cases including the side panels which are about $10-30 each depending on the case.
YOU HELP ME A LOT ! THANKS FROM PORTUGAL ...
The velvet Corsair bag is for your polyhedral dice (you know you have some!).
I still love the caselabs mention rip
I am guessing the I/O shield was in the bag.
Perfect Video! Thank You.

carey dares to be different , that's why he did the shirt thing , proof it's not all about the shirt its the man himself :)
I like this shirt. Here in India. we call this shirt model as 'Jibba'. Elders used to wear only plain colours without any design for respectable look. You look the same, Mr. Carey Holzman.
him and techdeals! all day!
He reminds me of Kazuya with those colours, DORRYA!!
The. best one was when he got one out of the dumpster and fixed it.
Hey that’s the movie theatre popcorn guy
It's August 14, 2018 and I just priced out all the parts on Amazon and the total comes to $1,582.23 ---- $326.41 more than the price in this video description.

Best Shirt 2017!!!
If i absolutely must build in a room with carpet how would i minimize static discharge? Would wearing shoes help?
Carey breaking his own rules by wearing long sleeve shirt......... may be because he is a pro pc builder.
Carey
Maybe someday they will either send you the power supply box with a Crown Royal in the bag or maybe they will flavor the silica gel packets with Crown Royal (LOL)
Does that shirt plug in somewhere ? Need an install video for the shirt.
cool shirt dude
Would building naked help with the static discharge?
Carey Holzman making purple shirts great again!!!!!....😉
this video was uploaded 2 days after i built my pc FeelsBadMan
if it was me and I had to remove screws to get the side panels off I would put the screws back into the case after you remove the panels that way they don't get lost or forget where you put them when you put the panels back on again
I use a magnetic parts tray...
Now that is a very practical idea.
Or just put them into one of the small cardboard boxes that come with the new products...
When my ASUS mobo didn’t line up it scared me so much. Thanks
As Carey says, you need 9000 V to feel, and then someone will ask, why 230V kill? Answer is NO, voltage do not kill, Electric current do.
It would be great to see a ryzen build. I hope a ryzen customer drops by.
That shirt is groovy.
Lmao that shirt tho
I trip on your videos your auh good guy

The shirt looks like ATi Radeon HD 2900 XT
WooHoo very nice :)
a day later carey died from eating things he was warned about
I betcha that shirt will become a meme
oooh my eyes and that shirt
I like how he throws useless stuff on the floor like case instructions, bitches about getting through 6 bags(some costly) to get to the power supply, and test-tastes silicon because it says "NO."
