    I have a friend from work who was an Air Force vet who served at Minot AFB. He had this to say to the slogan, "Why not Minot?". He said, "Freezin' is the Reason!".

    I have to admit, I loved Minot when I was there, I was only a child. We lived there from 1972-1977. I have sweet memories of the base, living on "Winding Way", and eating crab apples, and cherry trees in backyards! I'd dream how awesome it would be to fly in an F-106 or B-52... go "Spittin' Kittens"! Ice skating in my driveway on double-bladed skates was nice too! I wonder if my kindergarten school is still there...I think it was called Merill Lynch? I loved Minot, you ask me why?... I say..."WHY NOT"❤

      OMG!! My father was there *1972 to 1979* My *grandfather was stationed at Minot AFB* and *retired as a fire chief* He ( Grandfather ) moved back to California in 1984. My dad left after graduation Minot high school 1979 to California.

      He told me.. His older sister, my aunt. Married a flyboy.. And he used to hang out as a teen in the hanger on base / His friend, my aunts husband friend painted the planes. My father told me. They would go into the cockpit of a B-52 and breath in the pure oxygen that was thicker then normal on earth and would get so high on it. They could only take one small breath.. My dad said.. There will NEVER ever be another 70's it was the best years to be a teen.

    My father graduated Minot High school 1979..Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, sledding, cross country skiing. He's visited 2 times in the past. He stated he had more fun in school at Erik Ramstad middle school then, Minot High school. The first school he visited was Ramstad but it was no longer there. He visited the new Ramstad. 10x bigger then the old.. MHS needs a new one.. I'm going to visit Minot this summer with him 2024.. He wants to see a tractor parade again.. He won't tell me.. he said, I have to wait

      @@nathanstremickrealestateguide My dad told me. *Hunting in the winter is the best* Becuz, all the bucks and deer come down from Canada to eat. He told me about 2 seasons that the deer from Canada were destroying farmers wheat crops / that remain under ground corn & sunflower so there was a 3 each limit / 3 bucks & deer per hunter. They came down by the thousands. Mostly around the Peace Garden area and as far south of Lake Metigoshi

    My family and I just visited last week from a similar sized city in Canada. We were all shocked at how clean of a city it is and how much it had to offer for its size. It really made me wonder where all our tax dollars are going to.

    We are moving to Minot in a week due to my husband's job in the military. We lived in Norway for 3 yrs and we're hoping to move to a warmer state but did not get it. So we'll just make the best of our years in Minot. Who knows we might fall in love and make it our home. ❤

    What about flooding in Minot? And how do is stay warm if the apartment I move to doesn’t have heating. What having to replacing cars every five years due to the salt erosion.

    • @nathanstremickrealestateguide
      @nathanstremickrealestateguide  Год назад +1

      Hi! I think all apartments have heating... Also, the city uses mostly a gravel mix to treat the roads, so there's little-no salt.

    Did you catch that sled hill (it goes by pretty quick)? That is probably the biggest hill in Minot. Snowmobiling in Minot? ... sure .... but sledding? ... I wouldn't count on it.

    It routinely hits -60 in winter here if you include wind chill. It’s literally one of the coldest places to live in winter. I don’t hate Minot but I’d never put down roots here.
